  1. I have experience with both the '99 vintage crossover and the '99 style crossover schematic design using brand new components from Bob Crites. The difference was indistinguishable. I also have extensive experience with the kpt-884. When coupled with the Xti amp, it is the best subwoofer I have heard, including most of the internally amplified 15" subs from Klipsch. You will not be disappointed. It is digs deep while remaining extremely clean.
  2. I'll be happy to sell in any combo. I'll be back home this weekend and can post/send pics..
  3. I have three AWR-650-SM Outdoor Rock Speakers for sale, two red, one granite. $190 each, plus shipping CONUS.
  4. 2 - K-45-EP. 8 ohms each, wired in parallel.
  5. Wow, those must have been dropped really hard.
  6. Another, more secure option, is the snap toggler I found at Lowes, especially if no studs are available for attached behind the desired hanging location. The 3/16"-24 toggler will support 238 pounds in 1/2" drywall. The 3/16" bolt slips nicely through the 1/4"-24 threaded insert in the back of the speaker. Remove the woofer, locate the top two 1/4" threaded inserts on the wall, drill 1/2" holes in drywall for togglers, mount togglers in drywall, insert 3/16"-24 bolts with fender washer through inside of speaker into togglers, install woofer. 1" diameter round felt or rubber pads can be mounted on the four back corners of the speaker to provide a bit of stand-off for the wire. http://www.toggler.com/products/snaptoggle/installation.php

  8. The last MSRP I recall on the Ki-362 was $1470 each. I seem to recall the price of the 396 to be around $1800ish (+/-). I believe the 396's are available for purchase.
  9. The Ki-362 has been around for at least 15 years, and perhaps longer. They are used in the Jazz Kitchen in Indy, many of the Hard Rock Cafes, and a host of other venues, including several clubs, auditoriums, and churches that I have helped install. They are, as you point out, a Chorus in commercial clothing. The HF drivers are mounted on a turntable so the cabinet can be oriented in a variety of configurations. When combined with the 684 subs, they make a terrific system. When flown as a center cluster, the Ki-215 can be mounted between two 362's for perfect 180 degree coverage. For an even better treat, take a look at the Ki-396. The 396 is the KPT-325 in a trapezoid cabinet. 904 lovers will appreciate the the 396 as the HF is the same as the 904HF (and 325). The Ki-396 were used for PA at the MusicFest in Hope. https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/127781-need-pics-of-ki-396/
  10. I worked for the largest Klipsch dealer in the country from 1970 thru 1980. I never saw a pair of Klipsch like those. I'm reasonably confident those are home-made.
  11. A little correction on the quote: I believe the 904HF (DE75 on 510) is superior to the LS HF, imho. You have a fabulous 2" driver in the 75 vs a 1" in the LS. The LF is somewhat akin to Cornwall vs LS, direct radiator vs horn. I had 402 on LS LF and it was terrific. Two stacked LS LF with the 904HF would be even better. Horn precision all the way. Hmmmm, wouldn't that be like a Jubilee?
  12. The KP-4000 does not use the same driver as the 684. The KP-4000 is a "rat-fur" covered, OSB cabinet with a K-49, 4 ohm woofer with 15" passive. The KPT-480 is a plywood, ported cabinet that also uses the K-49, 4 ohm woofer. The cabinet is physically half of a 684. The KPT-684 uses 2 K-47, 8 ohm woofers, wired in parallel or bi-amped. Two KP-4000 in parallel would present a nominal 2 ohm load to the amp. (I think I did that all correctly . . .)
  13. Welcome, JC! I, too, purchased the SB120 for a bedroom and am quite pleased with the sound compared to the TV speakers. I also enjoy bluetoothing tunes to it from my iphone. I do wish Klipsch had planned for optional interface with a wireless sub, but, alas, no luck. I would love to hear your comparison of the SB-3 to the SB120. Thanks!!
  14. +1 for RB-75, RB-5 next. Own both.
  15. WTB: KG 5.5 woofers (2) K-1023-K The title says it all. Trying to help a young man in town restore a KG 5.5. He has good tweeter, crossover, and cabinet, but both woofers are blown. Thanks
  16. They will sound similar with the MkII being a bit better. You'll have to listen for yourself. For surround, I suspect they should be fine.
  17. The KP-250 uses a K-53-K midrange assembly and K-79 tweeter. The KP-250 II uses a slightly more expensive K-66-E midrange driver and more expensive K-792 tweeter. I believe the woofers should be the same, K-42.
  18. You bet. Come on down . . . .
  19. Y'all gonna need way bigger rooms . . . . I knew you were going to love them.
  20. They're not that big. The 904 LF is only 2" bigger in each dimension than a Cornwall.
  21. Hi Dean, Rigma scored a bunch of these from a theater. All equipped with simple, 2nd order passive networks, two caps, two inductors, no resistors. I have had 3 for mains L-C-R and they sound GREAT! The top is not too hot for home. The HF is 3-4db hotter than the bottom, but that was easily correct by Audyssey. In my room, Audyssey cut the HF by 2 db and boosted LF by 1 db. The DE75 driver on the 510 horn is a magic combination.
