  1. just found that, thanks! also DIY has some neat stuff as well
  2. A little elf tipped me off about getting a set of Grado RS2s for xmas, and as a winter project I'd like to build a decent tube or tube-hybrid headphone amplifier. Any recommendations? Also, getting married in Feb and moving to new digs, time to uproot the Khorns. The new listening room has a better floorplan and will allow me to use the Cornwall II for a center channel. AHHHHH progress. Pete in MI
  3. Sorry I let the ball drop here - I started my new job and it's been a real whirlwind. The previous director was relieved of duty so there were tons of fires to put out. I can't even remember what the finish is on the Cornwall II - I'll go home tonight and get the specs and take pictures. It's been sitting alone in the den with a Soundcraftsmen EQ on it for like a year, so I guess it's time to unload some used gear. If I can't score a couple of battered or mismatched Heresy...what is good recommendation in a newer Klipsch set, like the KG-2, etc.? Those seem to be in abundance, but I have a feeling that there's probably a good reason for that. I'm in Michigan. PMH
  4. I just scored a tasty Director's position at a museum, and my new office is HUGE. 23x30' huge. I've normally kept my music listening as a home activity with the Khorns and Dynaco ST-70 but I think I need some tube warmth at work as well. I've got a second ST-70 and turntable, but need a decent pair of Heresys for a decent price. I don't care much about finish - looking in the $200 range if at all possible. There are always some on E-bay but some of those a$$hats seem to think that driving up the shipping cost is an acceptable business practice.... PMH
  5. Last year I purchased a wonderful pair of '69 Klipschorn WO along with a tasty Marantz Model 15 and a single Cornwall II for a center channel. The receiver/preamp were long gone by the time I got there. Anywho - I have a Cornwall II that I can't use as a center channel due to space limitations. I'd like to obtain a single Cornwall II [Or Cornwall I] for my "master bedroom system". If anyone has a singe, or even a pair with one that has been damaged, please let me know. Pete - Michigan stimpy451@gmail.com
  6. Anyone want to sell? I keep watching e*bay auctions go high to people outside the country. Thanks in advance, Pete Bay City, MI Marantz, Klipschorns, Cornwall II, etc.
  7. Here's the idea - I have a set of K-horns and a Cornwall II for a center channel. I am using a Marantz Model 15 for the K-horns which replaced a Model 140 which I still have, along with a Model 14 Marantz for the center channel. I love my setup, but am being lured to the darkside of having more than two channels. I need recommendations on the following: 1. Pre-amplifier/5.1/DTS/digital dolby processor that will play well with my existing amplifiers 2. Side speakers 3. rear sub - do i really even need this? Pete
  8. Track samples here: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00004RJ6B/qid=1107360936/sr=8-14/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i14_xgl15/102-8833072-1017750?v=glance&s=music&n=507846
  9. Before everyone gets freaked out: Quantegy is slowly ramping production again. Also, there definitely will, we're told, be a new studio quality open reel audio tape manufacturer in Pennsylvania starting in May or early June and maybe even as early as April... Hang in there! They're going to be making very good tape starting with a +6 OL tape which almost everybody should be able to use. This gleaned from usrecordingmedia.com. Pete
  10. never mind, i just bought 28 of them. If anyone needs any pilot bulbs for a Marantz Model 15, I'll hook you up. I have 28 of the world's last remaining 33 bulbs in existence. Pete
  11. Dialco 507-3909, 6.3V, 200MA. Have only found one source for them, and they have a $20 minimum charge... Pete
  12. Wonderful center channel material for an existing pair of K-horns.
  13. Ok, I just posted that like 20 mins ago, and have a few emails concerning the sofa. Yes, it is a Stickley. I got it from Klingmann in Grand Rapids, MI. Stickley is still in business and has a really nice website: http://www.stickley.com/ Mine is the updated model. Very comfy. Sorry for off-topic.
  14. I hit them with BLO last night and fell asleep listening to Hendrix at the Isle of White, woke up with a really bad headache. Killed some brain cells, jst nt sre whch ones. They look dry again. I'm pretty sure I've decided to move to a house with a large open floorplan to accomodate these speakers. Also looking at building my first tube amp. Want to go low buck - thinking along the lines of the 2A3 Bottlehead, but not the kit, definitely want to homebrew. How do class A triode 300Bs do with the k-horn? I love the articles at www.enjoythemusic.com, except that Blackie Pagoda guy's attempt at freeform poetry about Johnny Thunders. Pete
  15. Wondering what year these were made: KCWR 2F592 2F593 WR=walnut raw? Pete 1958 Norton Domiracer
