  1. http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/175/jeffrey_lew.html Get Diffuse the Bomb and try that out. Also, from Napster or wherever: Boston Acoustics Bass Test CD - Woofer Cooker Try em out..
  2. erm.. yeah. "for direct connection to the Pros" would mean just that. You need to get all 3 parts or similar.
  3. http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F002%5F001%5F002%5F000&product%5Fid=42%2D2481 Make sure you get a Stereo one. You may also need a y-adapter http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F002%5F001%5F002%5F000&product%5Fid=42%2D2463 http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F005%5F003%5F009%5F003&product%5Fid=910%2D0790 for direct connection to the Pros - Stereo Remember.. the least amount of connections.. the better so if you find a better combination.. use it.
  4. The Pro sub should push fairly well.. you may need to break it in some more. Mask of Zorro - chapter 27 - mine explosion.. I can rock the room.. and nice air-condition for the feet. Make sure you have the sub volume set to the mark - pushing it higher at high main volumes will cause the limiter to kick in. I can see if I can get Matrix DVD and test my system tomorrow - still have yet to do so. Remember that sub placement plays a big role.. The Pro sub likes a good corner.
  5. The Midi has the center.. the Pros have the sub. Forget about Digital part of it all.. a good soundcard will take care of that. I have not heard the Mids.. and have only watched a few DVDs on the Pros but the Pros are a nice set for the price - not like a great HTS setup but it kicks ] Remember that the center channel is used for the vocals of a movie.. something the fronts can duplicate well enough. Sounds like you need a nice HTS for you DVD enjoyment ~$0.02
  6. simma down now. Just leave them on Swerv, I am not sure there is a way to take them off without messin somethign up since I really do not know how they are attached.
  7. The one that bulgoogy showed <274-868> are supposed to be instock in the stores. Im not real sure.. those lack Brand name discription.. the ones I linked to <910-0762> show Brand as Chen. I would just go to the Shack and see what they have... I'm not sure where elso you coule get a plug from
  8. It looks like the grill is held in by a ring - not sure.
  9. My Brother's monitor in our basement has a nice flicker from the power outlet.. it gets worse when the vaccuum is used. I tried one of the ground isolator plugs and it never worked. He has to use one on his HTS system cause of some kind of interference with the cable TV or something These are the settings that I use for my volumes: 81% across the board bass and treb are left at 50% and I have 100% on winamp with a flat EQ. for the control pod.. I have the sub usually set anywhere between min and the 10 o'clock mark.. and the main vol is set to wherever depending on how deaf I want to be. The static etc. ya may have to deal with if the soundcard is not that good.. The signal may not be all that clean. Do the speakers work good through a PortableCD Player of your stereo If they work fine.. then it might be your soundcard. Hope this helps. ------------------ All Your Base Are Belong To Us ------------------------------------- 1GHz TBird Abit KT7A-RAID FOP38 & CuShim Kingmax 256MB PC150 Annihilator2 32MB GTS Intel Pro100+Management NIC Promise Ultra100 IBM 75GXP 45GB ATA100 & Maxtor DMP6800 27.2GB ATA66 Plextor 16X10X40A Sony 12X DVD SBLive! 5.1 AOpen HX08 Full Tower 300W Sony CPD-G400 19" Triny ProMedia 4.1
  10. Solderless jack have a screw that holds the wire in place. Then you just plug the jack in the back of the sats like you do now. http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F005%5F003%5F009%5F003&product%5Fid=910%2D0762
  11. Must.. post.. more.. The CP-1 does nothing for the crossovers - they are in the sats. The CP-1 should take care of the knob crackling - I think the electronics may have been changed from the previous pod.
  12. I'll stick with my Plextor burner. ------------------ All Your Base Are Belong To Us ------------------------------------- 1GHz TBird Abit KT7A-RAID FOP38 & CuShim Kingmax 256MB PC150 Annihilator2 32MB GTS Intel Pro100+Management NIC Promise Ultra100 IBM 75GXP 45GB ATA100 & Maxtor DMP6800 27.2GB ATA66 Plextor 16X10X40A Sony 12X DVD SBLive! 5.1 AOpen HX08 Full Tower 300W Sony CPD-G400 19" Triny ProMedia 4.1
  13. Send Amy an email.. Amy ProMedia Tech Support promediatech@klipsch.com she should get back with you on monday. Sounds liek some warranty work..
  14. I agree.. you do not have to use the rears with the 4.1, but there may be a time when you can or want to.
  15. Converting mono to stereo will do nothing for you.. you will still end up with the same signal from both channels.
  16. Which crackling? twisting the jack crackling? ya.. that is from bad plugs.. bad contact.. whichever.
  17. I think if you use a digital internal cable from the Drive to the soundcard.. it will give you 4-channel.. does for me. Else.. try selecting CDaudio for your record in Creative Surround Mixer: This is also what you do if you want 4-channel thru the line in - except you select line in. Again.. I don't need to do this with a digital cord. ~There may be a similar thing with other sound cards. //more selections are available in white circle than red one
  18. I think it is 20 take a look at these http://www.geocities.com/venhaus1/diycatfivecables.html
  19. http://www.geocities.com/venhaus1/diycatfivecables.html I may do this.. won't cost much.. around $40-$50 but the time factor
  20. K27-R.. DON'T LEAVE.. You don't have to have the Pros or think they are teh "best" to post here. Good cans are better The Pros are good.. few flaws but they are good.. don't get me wrong. there are better one out ther, but chances are they cost more like your Speakers K27-R. The Pros are great when comparign to similar sats.. but when you get larger mid-drivers they start to fall back. My Bro has VanderSteen HTS <1", 4.5", 8", 10" just in the front speakers> and I'm sure they are a ton clearer. Also.. Speaker placement and soundstage play a big role on how things sound.. that is one of the main reasons why headphones are gouing to sound better than large speakers - Stereo sound is going to be better. Even my cheap @$$ PortableCD headphons have better stereo than the Pros cause they are right at my ears.. IceCube - Ask About Me.. the bomb part oand gunshots sound better thru the headphones than the Pros.. but if I were to put the pros by my ears.. they would sound closer to the headphone stage. One thing with headphones is that you will lack teh chestpounding bass.. but you can always use headphones thru teh pros while leaving the pors on for their bass - aint that bad.
  21. Your 580s are open, right Janko? I'm probably going to be getting the 495s in a month. I will probably make an amp for it some time.. when I find all the parts.
  22. I don't know much about speakers and crossovers.. New 4.1: http://www.gamersdepot.com/hardware/speakers/klipsch/promedia_41/speaker_guts.htm Old v.2-400: http://www.gamersdepot.com/rev_graphics2/klipsch/sattelite_2.jpg //You could just change the crossovers if ya get one with the same specs as the 4.1s - really just a matter of soldering it in..
  23. Ah.. the ol' question has come back. If ya want the 4.1, sell ur v.2-400 and but the 4.1
  24. You should be able to mute the TV or just turn the volume down. What soundcard ya got.. for the SBlive.. go into creative surround mixer and either 1] click on EAX and then on the second row of icons select the line-in one or 2] in the mixer part, select line-in icon for record from the dropdown. may be similar with other cards.
