  1. I have an optical cable already for the audio in general. I am referring specifcally to 5.1 audio (DVDA & SACD). The Marantz manual shows two pairs of RCA cables for Fronts and Surrounds (L/R) and two individual cables for Sub and Center.
  2. Yeah, the Marantz receiver has the corresponding inputs. I'll get three pairs of RCA audio cables. I'll obviously connect the fronts and sorrounds L/R to corresponding connections. However, is it ok to connect the sub and center connections using one pair (L/R) of RCA cables or should I get individual RCA cables for sub/center? Thanks for the response also.
  3. I am loking to connect a Denon DVD player to my Marantz SR7500. When connecting the 5.1 connections for DVDA/SACD from the DVD player to the receiver, do I use standard RCA audio cables or coax audio cables? The Denon manual says "speaker cables." Another connection guide I have seen says standard RCA cables. Any responses would be appreciated.
  4. Yes, '95 I am in Miami now, but went to see Mr. Frawley while home visiting family this past Christmas. I bought the RB25 system while visiting Columbia during Christmas '04. He was big on HK too, but I bought a Marantz receiver instead.
  5. I noticed the picture outside Williams Brice. Did you get the RB35's from Mr. Frawley. I got my system from him. He's awesome.
  6. I have the SR7500 paired with thr RB25 system. This receiver is great. It sounds great for both music and movies. My Klipsch dealer was big on HK, but I was able to demo the Marantz at another Klipsh dealer. The 3 year parts/labor warranty made me fell better about the purchase too. My local Marantz dealer let me have it for $940.00 Good luck....
  7. Cnet.com also has reviews of the Dell plasmas. They were not very kind either. I think the only place you can view their plasmas is at Dell kiosks in shopping malls. They have a locator on their web page.
  8. I have the RB25 system as well except I have the RW10 sub. I went with the Marantz SR7500. I paid 940.00 from an authorized dealer. You can probably get the 5500 for 550.00 from an authorized dealer. My Klipsch dealer was big on H/K, but once I was able to hear the Klipsch with Marantz, I changed my mind. The Marantz came with a 3 year parts/labor warranty too. Hopefully I won't need it, but I guess it's good to have.
  9. Chris, Dave Matthews Band Live at Folsom Field, 7/11/01. This is a great show and the sound is incredible. I have a couple of the other shows as well, but I think this is the best one. Another good show that has not been mentioned is Norah Jones Live in New Orleans (House of Blues) and The Allman Brothers Band Live at Beacon Theatre.
  10. You should check out www.bestbuysux.org You can read horror stories from employees and customers. It's pretty funny.
  11. goodguys.com has the H/K AVR635 for 799.99 w/free shipping. Did you consider Marantz receivers?
  12. I still like it very much. I continue to play around with the settings in that I could not get the MRAC to set it automatically. The sound though with the Klipsch speakers is incredible. I auditioned several receiver and speaker brands, but I think this is a great match. The only other review I found for the SR7500 was at: http://www.hometheaterblog.com/hometheater/2004/11/marantz_sr7500.html Also, Audioholics.com is supposed to review some of the new Marantz receivers at some point.
  13. Run the zip 29205 in the dealer locator. Frawley's in Columbia, SC has them in stock. I bought the entire RB25 system just after Christmas. He (Mr. Frawley) had plenty of RS25's and I am sure he would give you a good price too.
  14. I too have the Marantz SR7500. I have it matched with the RB25 system. So far it's been great. Music and movies both sound really good. Mine gets warm as most receivers do, but I would not say it gets hot.
  15. I bought the RB25 system from the Klipsch dealer (Frawley's) in Columbia, SC. He's been a dealer for over 30 years and really knows his stuff. If you are still interested in the Reference series and don't mind and hour drive down the road, he would make the trip worth it.
  16. The dealer let me have the system for $1,340.00. I bought them from a dealer in SC while visiting family for the holidays. Because I have a FL address, he did not charge sales tax. It was 1340.00 straight up. I thought it was a good deal. Is your dealer the only game in town? You should be able to get a better deal than that.
  17. I purchased that exact system just after Christmas. I was torn b/w Yamaha, Denon, H/K, and Marantz receivers. I auditioned, researched, and read reviews until my head was about to explode! I had different dealers tell me the Yamaha matched with Klipsch would be too "bright." I ended up with the Marantz SR7500. It retails for 1099.00, but my dealer let me have it for 940.00. The Klipsch dealer was big on H/K, but I really liked the way the Marantz sounded with Klipsch. The only gripe I have is that the internal crossover setting for the sub will not let you set the crossover below 80Hz (Only 80, 100, and 120). If your budget is 500.00, consider the SR5500. It retails for 650.00, but you can get a better price than that. I had one dealer quote me 550.00. Good luck. Check out the only review I could find on the SR7500 at http://www.hometheaterblog.com/hometheater/2004/11/marantz_sr7500.html
  18. I recently got the RB25 myself for 1340.00. So far I love the system. I was torn b/w Denon, Yamaha, and Marantz receivers, but ended up with the Marantz SR7500. My dealer was big on H/K recivers, but i just didn't like the looks or the sound. I don't know what size room you have, but the RW10 provides plenty of bass. Besides, the RW12 to me was just too big. Overall I really like the system. People on other boards either love or hate Klipsch. I think they sound incredible for the money. Good luck.
