Beautiful pair of 63’s in stunning cherry finish. One small scuff on one, on the side towards the back, but hardly noticeable because of depth of the cabinet. These are the sweetest Klipsch speakers I have owned thus far, but their depth makes them difficult to place in my 11.5’ wide room. Look at the crossovers and contemplate getting them redone, whether through Bob Crites or DeanG if he does them. I got mine from Bob. They will really sing then, and add in the titanium diaphrams to the tweeters. I did and was very happy with the end result. Yeah, I was wondering about that. Did you replace both at the same time? Just wondering which is the bigger bang for the buck to start out...

Really enjoying the 4.5's. They are immaculate...9/10. I first drove them with a little NAD D3020 and they sounded pretty good. I do like the Marantz 1070 a little more, though. Big dynamics and nice bass, which I love. I'd be interested to hear others' experience with both low and high powered solid state with the KG series...

I would like to thank everyone for their opinions - I definitely appreciate it. I reached a deal with someone locally and should have a pair of oak 4.5's in my system in the next couple of days.

Marty Yes I recall our visit. The HK was gifted to a friend who sadly passed away unexpectedly this year, but his widow has it hooked up to old-school large Advents and it's in a good home. Won't be home until Christmas, which as you know, is usually white and full of snow. Placement pays real dividends with Kg's, especially if you buy a model with a back firing passive. What is the minimum distance from the wall for the passive radiator in your opinion? Would a foot suffice?

Thanks - yes, this room has a ceiling that rises to 12' and I have always had a hard time getting a full, warm sound in there. I don't have a lot of room to pull them out into the room; would a front port be better than a passive for this reason? Thanks for your input...

I have owned many of the Heritage series over the years, but what can you tell me about the KG 4.2, 5.2 4.5, 5.5 speakers? A good reference point is the KG4's, which were the first speakers I ever purchased. How do they compare? I have seen some locally for sale and I am intrigued by the tower proportions vs. the shorter 4's. My room is bass shy, do they have a generous low end? I would assume that a Marantz 1070 would drive them ok? Any experiences that you can share would be appreciated. Thanks.

I must admit that I don't crank it very much these days...mostly medium and low volumes. I have never had good luck with a sub in this room and don't want the hassle of trying to dial one in. I would like to find a nice 10 - 20 wpc vintage tube amp, if it will do the job. I have found with several Klipsch models, that the sensitivity rating don't always tell the whole story...i.e. didn't like my Heresy's with a small tube amp; sounded better with more solid state power. Just wondering if the 75's were like that. I have a very nice Denon POA-2400 (200 wpc) amp, but would really prefer to return to EL84's or EL34's if possible.

I must admit that I'm partial to monitors (albeit large ones, in this case) and have always been intrigued by the 75's. Provided I can snag a pair, what kind of tube power will I need to drive them in a smallish room (17 x 13 x 7.5)? Work is eating up all my time these days and I find myself listening to digital (CDs ripped to a server) more than vinyl. That being said, would love to return to tubes to tame those CDs...your thoughts would be appreciated...

Near mint condition with clear oak finish. All drivers in excellent condition with new Crites tweeter diaphragms. Original diaphragms are also excellent and included. Cabinets are in beautiful condition. The fact of the matter is that they are just too big for my room. I have 13+ years of perfect feedback on Audiogon under mcp. No shipping; pickup only in Syracuse, NY area.

I use a Sonos Bridge and Connect and like it. It doesn't do hi rez, however. Great for playing back my ripped CDs (ALAC) and also streaming MOG.

I've been using a Kenwood KA-7100 integrated, but one of my reasons for buying the Chorus II's was to return to tubes...at 101 dB sensitivity, I should be able to find a nice 8 - 20 wpc amp, no? Looking at vintage and modern...wish I had never parted with my NOS Valves Scott 222C a couple of years ago - STUPID! Help me...budget maxes out at about $1k...power amps only please...

That makes sense to me......I've always loved Walnut so I bought Oiled Oak.... Thanks, it was difficult to wait for the other one. I've done a lot of listening the past couple of days and I really like them. The tweeters are currently stock, so I'd like to drop in the Titanium tweeter diaphrams that were included this weekend, Based on comments in this forum, they should be an improvement. I'm on the lookout for a better amp. I'd like to run my Sonos directly into a tube amp until I decide on a DAC and preamp...looking for a tube power amp that will be a good match...
