  1. Since they stole the design, I wonder if the sellers of these counterfeit chairs would object if you paid them with counterfeit money. 😕
  2. Just buy Chinese knock-off gear….and you’ll have enough left over for a fake Rolex.
  3. Why not simply save up for the real thing or just buy another comfortable chair that’s within your budget? For $1,500, you could pick up a decent used Ekornes Stressless chair instead of a poser Eames knock-off. https://qz.com/quartzy/1028802/cheap-eames-aeron-and-barcelona-chairs-inside-the-black-market-for-fake-designer-furniture/
  4. Clem Burke: Gotta be pretty good to attract even a few moments of attention away from Deborah Harry.
  5. @Full Range - I’d love to hear the mono version too. It would also be interesting to compare my copy to your audiophile copy. My mono copy of Ballads (posted earlier) sounds great but then it’s just a great album too.
  6. Good morning. I pulled out my copy and it appears to be the 1961 pressing. I put it on briefly - it’s a little early in the morning here for Coltrane. 😜 https://www.discogs.com/release/4186775-John-Coltrane-My-Favorite-Things Matrix / Runout (Runout side 1, etched): ST-A-60303-A Matrix / Runout (Runout side 2, etched): ST-A-60304-B (my copy is etched ST-A-60304-A on side 2) Matrix / Runout (Runout side 1+2, etched): AVCO Matrix / Runout (Runout side 1+2, etched): 34D Matrix / Runout (Label side 1): ST-A-60303 Matrix / Runout (Label side 2): ST-A-60304
  7. Found something German.

  9. Most anyone over the age of 60 remembers the Singing Nun album and maybe the Debbie Reynolds movie. The true and tragic story is quite different and compelling. A beautiful album and beautiful spirit. Jeanne Deckers Background information Birth name Jeanne-Paule Marie Deckers Also known as The Singing Nun Sœur Sourire Sister Luc Gabriel, O.P. Luc Dominique Born 17 October 1933 Laeken, Brussels, Belgium Died 29 March 1985 (aged 51) Wavre, Brabant, Belgium Genres Folk, religious Instruments Vocals, acoustic guitar Labels Philips Records Jeanne-Paule Marie "Jeannine" Deckers (17 October 1933[1] – 29 March 1985), better known as Sœur Sourire (French for ''Sister Smile'') and often called The Singing Nun in English-speaking countries, was a Belgian singer-songwriter and a member of the Dominican Order in Belgium as Sister Luc Gabriel. She acquired widespread fame in 1963 with the release of the Belgian French song "Dominique", which topped the US Billboard Hot 100 and other charts. Owing to confusion over the terms of the recording contract, she was reduced to poverty, and also experienced a crisis of faith, quitting the order, though still remaining a Catholic. She committed suicide with her lifelong partner, Annie Pécher. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Singing_Nun
  10. I can’t find it, but I have the Mary Martin version lp somewhere and the Julie Andrews version on cd. 🥴
  11. “Can you dig it?” also in Saturday Night Fever and pre-dates The Warriors and The Wanderers. Anyone have this soundtrack? Proud to say I don’t.

    Jokes?

Every morning for the past couple of weeks a Russian guy buys a newspaper from his local Moscow news stand. Every morning he glances at the front page and tosses the newspaper straight in the garbage bin. Today the newspaper seller just couldn't contain his curiosity any longer "Hey Mr.... I noticed that each morning you buy a newspaper... just take a quick look at it... and throw it away!! Why... why do you do that??" "I'm searching for the obituaries" "But Mr... obituaries aren't on the front page!!!" "The one I'm searching for will be....."
  13. Last one for tonight. I really appreciate the contributors to this thread for incentivizing me to pull out and organize these old albums.
  14. This one is very good too. Mono on vintage Bell Sound vinyl. Is there a significant difference between Van Gelder and Bell Sound vinyl pressings? Whatever, this lp sounds really nice.
  15. I picked up a copy that album in the late ‘70s. Not vintage, feels flimsy compared the older Van Gelder vinyl, but sounds good.
  16. Don’t hold your breath. I suggested a toaster prize 15 years ago when I had 1,559 posts. I even offered a cool design. Still waiting for it. 😠
  17. Boosting the post count with Count Basie and some other guy. Fun album.
  18. Not much to do while I’m sitting at home except fire up another one and boost my post count.
  19. Someday, my contractor will come.
  20. Looks like I can squeeze another one or two in before the contractors come out.
  21. Contractors called to say they’re delayed by about an hour or so.
