  1. Semi original owner here. Are these still for sale? Fate may have stepped in.
  2. Marion, I especially like the part about MSU. BTW, I just moved to Hendersonville with the family, of course.
  3. Looks like that one has had a little jeweling by somebody...looks marvelous. Again, good choice. []
  4. Good choice...He can make a pair of Monoblocks for you, as well. BS
  5. At the same db, they're not as loud.
  6. Found that out very quickly...Fix is in place..
  7. Unpacked yesterday. Everyone like pic's..I guess
  8. Yes, Sort of. I once had a Dynaco ST 70..actually a MkII if I recall correctly, then later a Vincent rebuilt Baldwin. I've never been able to compare it to a Will Vincent Dynaco. However, given the relative simplicity of the Baldwin...I'd give it the edge. Will does fantastic things with these amps both Dynaco and Baldwin. I always had the feeling like I could drop the Baldwin out of a second story window and it would be OK...plus the auto biasing feature is a bonus. Pretty sure the Dynaco was rated higher output Wattage, but with Klipsch it matters very little. Sound was similar, but the Baldwin was dead quiet. Typical lush tube mids, little muddy in the bass...yadda, yadda, yadda.
  9. Today I received a brand spanking new pair of RF7 II's..Anybody on the fence should come on over...
  10. Thought about that product for use on the outside of metal horns...
  11. An AL-3 would also be much better than the dredded AL.
  12. Simply awsome...got a little tipsy just looking at the pictures BS
  13. Those were likely hanging in a club at some point and they were probably tired of blowing tweeters. They can be restored to perfection, though...and you have the perfect substrate...Raw Birch.. Take out those resistors and hook em straight up... Go for the veneer job, when you have time...
  14. I would lean toward Solid state with the Reference and Tubes with Heritage...or let's just say the RF line tolerates SS a little better IMHO. I've used both with both...don't blast me...just a small insignificant comment...what are you driving with? BS
  15. Dont get discouraged on veneering, especially if you have the skills to build new cabs. It's really not that difficult..go with a paper backed product and the iron on method first; pick a less expensive veneer for your first project. We can guide you through...especially groomlake...Need to look at Gregs website, too. Me no can linky...maybe somebody else can...show him some of Gregs work... www.voltiaudio.com I think BS[bs]
  16. Hit Reply Type something Options Add update Browse-select picture from your file MOVE WAY WAY OVER TO THE RIGHT AND LOOK FOR THE "SAVE" BUTTON...HIT THAT LET IT UPLOAD AND THEN POST LIKE THESE HERESY RE VENEERED HERESIES?
  17. I would imagine they build to order on Heritage...
  18. With a careful application of bondo type wood filler, you could just re-use the original cabs and apply a new veneer coat of your choice. There are several threads in here about that subject. If I'm not mistaken there are actually two B-3 crossovers and both are good in my HO. I don't know about that resistor in the path of the tweeter, may be a makeshift type deal to protect it from blowing. Sounds like you have what we commonly refer to as a Cornwall 1.5, somewhere during the changover. This is good because of access to everthing through opening the back panel. The sky is the limit on conversions. The K601 (plastic) mid horn only uses a bolt on driver, I think: or the K57K in other words, and that is a limitation unless you can locate a couple of k600's (metal threaded): they are somewhat scarce. At any rate, most folks on here wouldn't hesitate to change out that horn, anyway (but you'd have to change the motorboard). $150 is a steal,,,great pick up. Ahem...we like pic's here...post them please. BS
  19. Go for it. it will be worth the wait. I loved mine...sorry I sold them. Plus, I think the newer version has metal framed woof/mid's...a definate improvement.
  20. IMHO, go with a Will Vincent Baldwin 6L6 and a variable out CD player, first. Incredible value for the $$$
