  1. The Carver 9t mono blocks do sound good and I have tried a krell ksa 200 that sounded a little better, more definition/detail and wider sound stage but just felt that I was over powering the speakers. I have not considered the Integrateds. I have not heard any other amp but continue to see that a lot of people love the tube amps on the corner horns. Thanks for your reply

  3. I have a pair of unmodified Corner horns ( 1987 ) is the year model inside the cabinet with the builders card inside. I have them connected to a pair of Carver Silver 7t mono blocks that were upgraded to the 9T, ( I am the original owner ). They do sound very good but I am considering buying a Sophia Electric baby amp ( 10 Watts ) or EL34 ( 28 Watts ) tube amp or Pass Labs F5 amp ( 25 watts ). An old friend has me looking at these amps. Anyone have any thoughs on any of these amps? I will be upgrading the Crossover later but would like to go ahead and purchase a amp now. The Speakers are against oak panelled walls and are 16' apart. Any information would be appreciated.
  4. How did you like the sound of the 2105 with klipschorns? Thanks, Greg
  5. Hi, I am looking at buying a Mcintosh MC250 or MC 2105 old solid state amp to use with my klipschorns, 1987 models. Does anyone have experience with this set-up along with any thoughs? I am now using an old H K Citation 19 that sounds pretty good. Any suggestions?
  6. Hi Bob, I have two K-33E that are original in a 1987 Klipschorns. I checked each one with a ohm meter and they have an open circuit. I just sent you a msg thru your listing as I am interested in a pair of new K-33E. I will check back on this site later. Thanks, Greg
  7. JJ, Thanks for the information and I have just sent Bob a msg. I don't know if all the K-33E speakers have the same Ohm Ratings as I have seen some sites that said they range from 4 to 7 ohm's. I can't wait to hear these speakers!!!!!!!!!! Thanks again, Greg
  8. Hi Everyone, Thank you for the replies. I took the covers off the side and attached the feed to the woofer speaker. Nothing happened. I will try the battery in the morning along with taking the speakers out and checking there ohm/reading. The speakers are K33E. I checked the speaker while connected and got .7 ohms. Does anybody know if you can still purchase these speakers from Klipsch. By the way my other speakers are infinity RS1B's that I purchased from absolute audio. They were used as one of there reference systems. Lots of Bass. I always wanted a pair of Corner horns. Thanks again everybody, Greg
  9. I have removed the covers and Yes they are connected.
  10. Hi, I just got a pair of 1980's Klipschorns and got them connected. I have the AK-2 crossovers and I just connected the amp cables to the lower two red/black plugs. I am just using one amp. The sound is great except I have no Bass on either speaker. Just checked fuses and they are good in both speakers but still no Bass. These speakers are stock with no modifications. Any ideas?? Any help is appreciated. Thank you, Greg
  11. Hi Guys, Thanks for the information and I do have the AK-2 crossovers and I just connected the amp cables to the lower two red/black plugs. I am just using the one amp now. I will post this on the modifications board also. Thanks for the information on Bi-Amping also as I will plan on doing that once I get them totally up and going. Thanks Again, Greg
  12. Hi, I just got a used set of Klipschorn's delivered and the seller did not know how to connect as there father had passed away and they didn't have the manuals. These are 1980 models with 4 connectors, RED/Black, 2 top and 2 bottom. The speaker wire feeding the cross over is pluged into the top post. Any helps is appreciated. Which connection post do you connect the speaker wire from the amp to? Thanks for your help, Greg
  13. Bill, Thanks for the information on the difference on the horns from models built in 1989 and 1980. Sometimes company that want to cut cost, turn to composite/plastics. I don't know what that does to the sound, but I know they have got to be cheaper to produce. Thanks Again.
  14. Both speakers are equal in apperance, Oak/Oiled. Cloth has been replaced on the 1980 pair. Does anybody know if the horns would be the same with the MFG dates of 1989 and 1980? I just don't know if 9 years newer along with the difference in crossover's, AK-3 versa AK-2 is worth $ 600.00. I appreciate everyone's input, Greg
  15. Hi, I am looking at purchasing a pair of Klipschorn. One set is MFG date of 1989 with AK-3 cross overs and the other set is MFG. date 1980 with AK-2 cross overs. I don't know the difference in the cross overs. The difference is price is $600.00. Is the difference worth it? OR Is it better to go ahead and spend around $ 500.00 for a pair of ALK Crossovers and replace the AK-2's ? Thanks and I can't wait to get them, Greg
