  1. The Sherbourn PT-7010A is another good choice. Bob Carver designed its platform, and its based on the Grand Theater III. It is a great value.
  2. Good deal on craigslist in Boston area: http://boston.craigslist.org/ele/114280303.html
  3. Does anyone have a copy of this out of print CD? Ebay has one for $75, but I just want to be able to enjoy it again without breaking the bank. (My record was stolen from me about 12 years ago.)
  4. I have a chance to get a pair of White Oak Forte 1's in mint condition for $500..."still in the plastic" as this guy described them to me. Would I be stealing them from him at that price?
  5. These are the "screw-on" type... http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=091-1260
  6. I haven't experienced this sub, but am very happy with my SVS PB-12 Plus/2. It really fills my 14'x14' room well and works great for music and home theater. Having spoken with Ron from SVS, it seems to me the SVS B-12 plus/4 is a real beast.
  7. It looks like this was in this guy's glove box. He says it's a "repair kit". Wow! http://cgi.ebay.com/KLIPSCH-Tweeter-Replacement-Diaphragm-NR_W0QQitemZ5825607838QQcategoryZ61378QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  8. The Sherbourn 7/2100A. It has seven monoblock amps built into one with lots of power! You might be able to find an open box at an authorized distributor if you are concerned about the warranty.
  9. I just had this problem a couple of days ago. It turned out to be that my cable wire was not grounded. I grounded it against a pipe in my basement, and now it's gone. (From what a read, I gather that the cable wire for the cable box is the culprit more often than not.) It was suggested to buy one of these: Jensen Cable TV ground isolator, or if you want something cheaper that also does the trick or http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=180-075 Hope this helps. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
  10. Patrick, I've had my Sherbourn for a week now, and I love it! It gives a warm sound and makes a big difference compared to my Denon. I also love the fact that it has seven single amps built into one unit with separate tranformers. It is like having seven mono blocks in one. (It feels like it too, because it weighs 115 lbs.!) Andy
  11. Patrick, How big is your room? I know the Sherbourn 7/2100A is 200 watts per channel conservatively. (This is plenty for me in my 14'x14' room.) They also make another 7 channel with lesser watts. Also, some manufacturers have a tendency to be a little under their actual wattage when stating it. Andy (ajcllc)
  12. I have my speakers all set to 'small' while my sub does the rest of the work. I noticed that the bass is really tight. As far as seperates go, I would like to recommend Sherbourn. I was using a Denon AVR-2802. While the Denon sounded very good, the separates make a great amount of difference. With my preamp/amp combo, I notice how my speakers really sing better and open up. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about my Sherbourn combo.
  13. (Sherbourn PT-7010A) Does anyone have any experience with this pre? I cannot find that many reviews on it.
  14. I also forgot to mention that I can get a Sherbourn PT-7010A for $2300. This is brand new. Is this a good deal, and is this price also hard to come by?
  15. Is $1600 for a mint condition used Sherbourn 7/2100A a good deal? How hard are these to come by?
  16. I have the 2802, and I had to assign the inputs via my television monitor screen. Are you able to hook the television to the receiver visa versa? Also, I believe Denon can be reached at 973-396-0810.
  17. How would you describe the sound? Is it brighter than others such as Sherbourn, B&K, or Rotel? I am leaning towards possibly Sherbourn, Denon, and/or Outlaw.
  18. Any comments on the 990 and or 770? Anyone? Any Outlaw comments?
  19. I was narrowing this down about a month ago and pulled the trigger on SVS PB12-Plus/2. I absolutely love it. For me it seemed to be a better overall value, and for what I read regarded reviews, it is a great overall sub. (There are some other postings in the forum comparing these two subs that will be helpful in making your decision.) If you decided to go with the SVS, you won't be disappointed. Their service and product is wonderful.
  20. Does anyone have this pre/pro amp combo? I am interested in your opinions on the Outlaw. For around $2500 this seems like a really good deal. The models 755, 770, and 950 have outstanding reviews on www.audioreview.com. If these products and online company are as good as SVS, I think I am in luck. Thanks
  21. These are in Watertown, NY. 1977's with modifications. Look like a good deal for someone. $850 'buy it now': http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5809802353
  22. One just went on eBay for $460 plus shipping with scratches and a dented corner! Wow! I would prefer a black one if possible, but that is not necessary. I want to upgrade the crossover by Dean. Thanks.
  23. (Hi Charles. Great to meet you! Hi Dean.) Would you suggest any other pre/pro, 7 channel amps that are great matches other than Denon that would be significantly better in my price range?
  24. You mentioned a seven channel to go with the Denon? I'm looking to spend around the $1500 to $3000 depending on what is the best 'deal'. Do you have any other recommendations other than the B&K or Audio Dynamics? I would even consider used. Thanks
