  1. Do you have any other suggestions if I want a setup to run 7 channel for movies and also listen to music?
  2. Would you be able to elaborate please?
  3. Has anyone combined two or three TEAC A-L700P's for 6 or 7 channel surround with a Denon AVR-3805? I am considering this along with the Denon AVR-3806 when it comes out. These amps will be used with the receiver for music and home theater. Any suggestions or opinions?
  4. Have you considered an SVS PS12-Plus 2? I just got one and love it! It has two twelve inch woofers and is about $1300 plus shipping. I currently am running it with Forte's and Quartets.
  5. I am looking to spend around the $1500-$2200 range. I have noticed the "What amps or preamps are you using" et. al. postings. With that said, maybe I should have asked, "what would be the advantages and disadvantages of buying a home theater receiver vs. buying an amp/preamp combo"? I am wrestling with what to do. Thanks.
  6. O.K. Here is what I have for speakers. 2 Forte I's, 2 Forte II's, 2 Quartets, an SVS PB12-Plus/2 . I will be purchasing an Academy very soon. Currently, I have a Denon AVR-2802, but am considering an upgrade soon with the Denon AVR-3806 with this current speaker set-up. (I love these speakers by the way!) My main concern, however, is my receiver. Should I get only a receiver, or should I get a preamp and amp set-up? I want my set-up to be versatile as far as listening to music and seven channel home theater. Please...advice is valued and very appreciated! Thanks in advance!
  7. For what it's worth, I am currently running a six channel Denon AVR-2802 with my Forte's and Quartet's and am very happy with the 'warm' sound that it produces to say the least. Currently, I am on a quest to upgrade my receiver to 7 channel with the intention of buying a Denon AVR-3806 which is due to come out next month. It is my understanding that this unit will cost around $1199 and is capable of HDMI if that is important to you. I am very partial to Denon and honestly have not auditioned the H/K, Pioneer, or Yamaha. Has anyone compared the four? Is it true that the Denon has a 'warmer' sound than the Pioneer, H/K, and Yamaha? Do these three reveal a 'brighter' sound to Klipsch speakers as opposed to Denon? Anyone with input?
  8. I just settled on an SVS PB12-Plus/2. I am really looking forward to it and cannot wait to hear it considering all of the positive reviews!
  9. I have it narrowed down to the SVS PB12-Plus/2 and the Klipsch RSW-15. Any opinions between each?
  10. I have two Forte I's, two Forte II's, two Quartets, and am about to get an Academy. What would be a really good subwoofer or subwoofers to match this set-up? My room is about 14'x10'. Thanks
  11. Thanks everyone! The Forte II's look great and sound awesome. Really good match with the Forte I's! So far I have both sets of Forte's with a set of Quartets...along with a Denon AVR-2802. I am looking for an Academy and a better sub. Currently I have a Cambridge Soundworks sub. (I believe I can get great 7 channel results with everything.) Also, my room is 14x10.
  12. Will Forte I's and Forte II's match in home theatre with Forte II's in front and Forte I's on sides? (along with Quartets as rears and Academy center) Is there much of a noticeable difference considering the I's and II's are slightly different? Any suggestions and/or opinions are very much appreciated!!! I am picking up a pair of nice Forte II's for $250 in about an hour!
  13. Any suggested set-ups in 6 or 7 channel surround with 2 or 3 Academy's?
  14. Would the Quartets be a good match as a center and a rear for Forte II's? I am thinking of using a pair instead of Academy's. Any opinions and/or suggestions?
  15. Which speakers are more musical? Anyone have a chance to compare the two?
  16. What a steal of a deal! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5773525565&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
  17. I did all of the above except for swapping the crossovers. Nothing has solved the problem yet. I then swapped the mids; I still hear the same problem. I then swapped the woofers...same problem. Now I will try to swap the crossovers hoping that will work!
  18. I recently noticed that one of my Forte's is louder than the other. The louder speaker has more bass and has more clarity. In the 'quieter' speaker when played at normal sound level it is not distorted. I then checked the midrange and woofer for any tears or cracks...nothing that I can see. I also switched the speaker locations hoping it was a placement issue. Nevertheless, the problem is still there. Also, when the speakers are turned up to a louder level one distorts and the other sounds fine. Some help would really be appreciated.
  19. (Thanks for the input.) I am currently using a Denon AVR 2802 and might upgrade to a true seven channel. The only mains that I have currently are Forte I's. These are all I have so far for an upgraded surround sound to fill a room of about 15' by 15'. Hopefully, I will find an Academy for the center. Also, tomorrow there is a good chance that I am purchasing a Klipsch KSW15 for a sub.
  20. ...as rears in 7 speaker surround sound, or should they be used as sides?
  21. Someone has one for $200 in like-new condition. (I currently am upgrading my Cambridge Soundworks to all Klipsch.)
  22. Will the Klipsch KSW15 be a good match for the Forte's as I add my other speakers for 6 or 7 channel surround?
  23. What would be the best matched recommended speakers for 6 or 7 channel surround to match my 'new' Forte's...including the sub?
  24. Even though speaker sound is subjective, which is better overall, the Chorus or the Chorus II?
