  1. Thanks for the great replies. I am looking at the Emo website now, looks like good equipment. I do have plenty of space, I have dedicated theater room, with storage room behind it where I have my equipment. I am almost done with the the "overhaul" of the cosmetics of the room, I will get some pics up after completion. I did see a 7 X200 on the emo site, but like stated before the 2 channel and five channel looks like a good option. I agree the 300 is overkill but like most people I always want the biggest and most powerful, but its not needed. I am sure for now a good 7 x 125 but when I finally am able to get the complete THX Ultra II speaker setup I know I will want the 7 x 200 for them, so might as well get that now. With the prices being so reasonable on the emo a pre can be purchased now. This is the area where I really need some guidance. This is where I would like to get all the bells and whistles. As of this moment I have my projector set up on component (it does have hdmi output) but I used compenent for a few reasons, cost of cable, my denon is not HDMI. When I decide on a new pre, will it be worth looking at running HDMI cable (its about a 20 foot run) I know HDMI carries audio and video and is an easier hook up, but does it actually gain anything in video over component? I do not think it would gain enough to be worth buying a long HDMI cable but like always would like from you guys about this. Is the Emo Pre a good unit in your guys opinion? I do try to research things on my own, but I like real world experience from people who not selling a product to base my decisions on. I look forwarnd to your replies and all help is very appreciated.
  2. Hi All, Long time no talk. I have put off any upgrades for the last year because of this horrible economy, but now it is time to get seperates. I am really leaning towards Outlaw. I know in the past some here were pleased with their products. Are they still a relaible company? I am thinking of going with the 7700 and for now using my denon as a pre. I am sure my RB 75's and RC-7 would love the 200 per channel, but I still have the ultimate goal for upgrading the THX Ultra II set up. I have no idea when that will happen but it is my goal. With that said, would it be wise to go ahead and get the 7900? I know 300W per channel is overkill, but for about $1000 difference I wonder if it would better to get that? Those of you that remember me know I am not very smart in this stuff and always need reassured when making a purchase. I do value all opinions here and I look forward to your responses. Shane
  3. I have a PS-3 with my 720p Sharp projector and love it. My Denon 3805 does not have HDMI either so I used component cables and love the piture. It is an upgrade over the picture from my Denon 2910, although the Denon on SD DVD's is still pretty darn good. I am not near as technical as you guys but I have the PS 3 audio hooker up with an optical cable and the sound on movies great. The Denon 2910 does have slight edge in sound. So perfect would be the denon for sound and the PS 3 for video. But I am happy with the PS3 as it performs well and I still like to play games so for the price for me it was good inverstment.
  4. The overhyped 1080p thing is my rant as well. Also the 2009 all HD Channels is false. it was going to 2007 now its 2009 and its not all HD, its all digital. If it goes into effect in 2009 analog TV will have to have a digital box, but it is not HD. A non HD TV will still work. On the 1080P sure blue ray is awesome on a 1080p TV, but Dish, DirecTV and cable boxes are struggling to thier boxes to handle more 720p/1080i channels now. They are long ways off from having 1080p on the boxes. I have a 720p projector and for the price difference I am very happy with the choice I made. Because the majority of the time I am watching Dish and not Blue Ray.
  5. Also the sony has to go. I started out with a system like yours, and the first thing everyone here said was dump the sony and they were correct. There are many afforable options on good receivers.
  6. I would look around for a used set of RB-75's and RC-7. Thats the route I went and could not be happier. The RB-75's are excellent speakers, and the RC-7 speaks for itself. As mentioned above the Sub-12 would be a good option, or a used RW-12 would work as well.
  7. Also I did not use my RF-35's or RC-35 and would like to sell them. They are in great condition and are black. I sold the RS-35's a while ago to a member here. I have the factory boxes for the RF-35's and have a box I can safely ship the RC-35 in. If anyone is interested please let me know. I have sold a few things here and still prefer that over e-bay. If interested shoot me a price and lets see what we can do. For those who do not know me I live in the Springfield, MO area, so you could get an idea of shipping cost off of zip 65604. Or if someone local wants them I would be willing to meet somewhere close by.
  8. Hey Guys and gals how have you all been. I have been AWOL with work and getting theater room done. But the theater room is almost completed. I just have to install chair rail over the droove I cut to run speaker wire. It has been a lot of work but it has been well worth it. The sound and picture is awesome. I will take some pics this weekend after trim work is done and I post them. I look forward to chatting with you all again.
  9. Hi Melbay, Let me know when you get your RSW-15 back, I will be interested in it for sure
  10. I would love to find an RSW-15 if anyone has one or knows where one is please let me know. .
  11. I would upgrade the speakers. Your amp is a very good amp. I myself prefer the the 7 series to the 83/64 combo. You could find used RF-7 and RC-7 get the speaker upgrade you want and not spend a mint. I have $1200.00 in my RB-75 RC-7 combo and could not be happier.
  12. If you can get a nice pair of RF-35's for $400.00 I would do that. I have RF-35's at my house in the boxes as they do not work for my theater room, but I would not sell them for $400 as to me they are worth more than that just in case I need them in the futer. F-3's for $350.00 would be a good deal as well.
  13. Does anyone know where a person could get a grille for an RC-7? I e-mailed klipsch and am waiting to hear back, but I did not know if you guys had any ideas on where to turn for something like this. Thanks, Shane
  14. Yes I meant the RT-12d. And $3200.00 for sub is WAY more than I can or would pay for a sub. I am affraid it might be hard to find a used RSW-15, but last year when I demo'ed one of those I was very impressed. I just can not hear a side by side now as my dealer does not have any RSW subs left
  15. As a general rule accoustic screens are more expensive. Eventually I am going to get a screen like that because how my room is designed I will be better with an accoustic screen. I got a sharp XV-Z3000 720p profector and am very happy with it. I got it for $2k,
  16. I was thinking of selling my RW-12 and getting an RSW-15, I have heard the RSW-15 in the past and it was a monster. But the guy I got my RB-75's from said the Rw-12d blows it away, have any of you compared these 2 subs?
  17. I got my black RB-75's new in box for $799.00 shipping included. I do not know what the guy wants for the cherry but I am sure you could get the same price. He is on e-bay and his name there is audioadvicefl If you have problems finding him let me know and I can give you the item number number off of mine
  18. Hi There, I sent you an -mail Friday. I purchased a pair of Black RB-75's about 2 weeks ago unopened in box. I think the guy has one more pair left, they are hard to find. Let me know if you did not get the e-mail and I can give you info again.
  19. Thanks for the info guys. I got a price from Bluejean for 40 foot component cable for $150.00, does sound about right to you guys? Also if anyone lives is SW Missouri and likes getting dirty give me a shout and I can put you to work helping me rewire and redesign my Theater room. I will smoke a prime rib so we will eat good when we get done working, nothing like begging for help eh lol. I really do appeciate all the advice though guys, That is why this is my favorite board, everyone cares about really helping each other out. Shane
  20. Hi Bill, Sorry to hear about your mom. I hope she makes a speedy recovery. I replied to your pm with my address. Shane
  21. Hi Bill, I sent you a PM but not sure if you got it. Let me know if you want the RC-35 the price you offered is fine with me, but please let me know if you do not want it I need to get it listed on e-bay as I need to get my 35 stuff sold. Thanks, Shane
  22. Hi Guys, I need a little help. I am in the process of reworing my Theater room. I am going to need a component cable that is about 30 feet long to run from receiver to projector. I figure I need to find someone to make this cable. Do you guys have any suggestions on who I could contact to make a cable like this for me? The local store I use for most of my purchases can make it but they are very expensive. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Shane
  23. I think I have someone here who wants my RC-35. I am making one last offer here for my RF-35's. They are black and in fine condition. If someone is really interested please send me a pm or post here. I will wait a couple days then I am going to E-Bay. I would rather sell them to someone here who would appreciate them than go to e-bay. Thanks, Shane
