  1. Anybody else notice that an erection test cost $10? Jeremy
  2. Wow! that's awesome. I've been collecting Nagel for about 20 years. I would have died and gone to heaven with that deal. My best deal far and away was my 88 Oak Oil Cornwalls for $25 at a garage sale about 2 blocks from my house. They are still singing away in my 2-channel rig. Another cheers to lynnm. I miss that guy. Jeremy
  3. If I remember right, someone here (Gilbert maybe?) found him tossing around his B.S. on a corvette forum and called him out here for it. I can't seem to find the thread, maybe it was locked and deleted. I remember him well because he joined the forum within a day of me. Hopefully he has matured and then could come back here and post with some credibility. Good luck CTP! Jeremy
  4. Who could forget? http://community.klipsch.com/forums/t/94103.aspx?PageIndex=3
  5. I'm glad they are back. I love mine. One major difference I notice is the motor board is veneered now instead of flat black...looks nice. If there is one thing I would consider changing it would be the grill pegs. I prefer the magnet style grills to the often broken pegs of the RF-7 style. Just a thought. Should it be called the RF-7II after making a comeback like the LaScala, Cornwall, and Heresy? Jeremy
  6. My dad lived in Flippin for 13 years. My wife always loves his story about the time that a car drove off the Flippin bridge and the Flippin police and the Flippin firetrucks and the Flippin ambulance were all there blocking the Flippin road.
  7. Nice work, and nice shop. I'd like to try to reveneer one of my pairs of Corns someday. I like your nice organized shop too! I just have to plug myself and say that I did a bunch of machine work on the molds that make those Hanson socket trays you have pictured. Keep up the good work and keep the pictures coming. Jeremy
  8. If it won't go, get a bigger wrench. If it breaks, it probably needed to be replaced anyway.
  9. 6mm-1.0 tpmm works out to .236 and 25.4 tpi. I think the 6mm t-nuts or hurricane nuts are pretty common. Your screw might go in .....hard. If you could get ahold of a 1/4-26 tap i'd be willing to bet a 6mm would tap out nice to what you need. I guess it all depends on how much work you want to put into it. Good luck! Jeremy
  10. That's funny, because I do too. Just last night I went out and bought 2 new CD's because of Pandora.
  11. I listened to all (3) floorstander models at a dealer back in December. I thought the P-37 was the most natural and smoothest sounding of the line up. It was also the only one of the 3 running on tube gear (Mac.) The P-38 was my favorite of the 3 with a little fatter bottom end (more to my liking) but still pretty balanced and smooth, and it was hooked to a B&K home theater receiver (ugh.) The P-39 was honestly a big dissapointment for me. It was probably the room and set-up. It was not as balanced or smooth as the little brothers were and the bass response was poor in my opinion. It was hooked to a mega buck Krell SS set-up. I argued (kindly) with the salesmen about the port configuration. They were set-up with the ports firing in towards the center of the room and I felt if they were swapped around with the ports firing out towards the corners of the room that the bass response would pick up. He disagreed (kindly) even though the brochure showed them set up with the ports outward. I have hesitated to give my personnal review until now because I was expecting to be wowed by the high dollar P-39-F and I was not. All I got out of the trip was a greater appreciation for my sub 4K Cornwall / BBX / Dynaco / Thorens system. I'm glad Stereophile gave a favorable review. That can only be good for Klipsch. The Palladium is just not for me I guess. Jeremy
  12. Pioneer SA-7800 integrated amp with th TX-7800 tuner? I've scored some great Pioneer silver face equipment over the last few years. I really like that stuff. Your score would certainly make a nice little system for anyone! Jeremy
  13. I've also often wondered how to get these grills off. Thanx for the tips. Jeremy
  14. I really like Mitch Hedberg (r.i.p.) it's hard to tell if he was an idiot or a genius, but he definatley looked at the world from a different perspective than most of us. I'm also a Louis C.K. fan. If you like raunchy comedy, this guy says stuff that you only think but would never say yourself. YMMV Jeremy
  15. It reminds me of an old EDM power supply. Jeremy
  16. I missed your original post last year. It's a moot point now that you have it fixed, but I would have suggested taking it to Video Lab, you're in Rockford, right? Mark @ Video Lab has done some reconing and foam surround work for me in the past, and does great work. Jeremy
  17. I listen to Pandora at work all day long through headphones. The rez is not great but it is bearable for me. I have several different stations set up for different styles of music that I like. It is really great software if you put the effort into fine tuning it to only play stuff you really like. I have found several artist that I had never heard of but really like. I even went out and bought a few CDs because of Pandora. I recommend it to everyone. BTW no commercials! Jeremy
  18. Welcome. I don't think I have ever heard anyone own otl's and not love them. Congrats on the great collection. It sounds like fun! Jeremy
  19. Here is the one I use. It is a 4 band parametric Berhringer that has a tube output stage. I'm almost embarrased to admit I use an eq. Most people will tell you to treat the room instead of eq for room issues. I have a dead spot in low bass response right in my listening position. It sounds great everywhere until I sit down, then the bass disappears. I only use the eq to boost the low end to my liking. It sounds a little boomy everywhere other than my listening chair. I have the other 3 bands shelved out. I like this unit, it was not too expensive and the tube "warmer" and "colder" knob is kinda gimmiky but overall I like the unit. Please don't hate me. Jeremy
  20. Mr Widget is an active member over at the Lansing Heritage forums, where I spend a fair amount of time reading but not posting like I do here. I'm sure his situation is simliar but opposite. He is a respected and knowledgeable member over there, so lets cut him some slack. Jeremy
  21. Now you are speaking my language. I killed several Tanqueray martinis last night while watching a great 80's cover band. My head still hurts. Jeremy
  22. Happy B-day Gary. I will spin something in your honor on the TD-124/ Zu 103 rig tonight. I don't have alot of jazz, but how about some Diz-N-Byrd? Jeremy
  23. That is an awesome looking plinth Kev. I'm in the middle of building a new plinth for my freshly restored TD-124. Looks like you are running it without the mushrooms. How about you other 124 guys (fini) are you using the mushroom isolators? Is that another armboard in the back Kev? I finally got the knife edge bearing I got from you on my SME and it's up and running w/ a Zu DL 103. I'll have to post some pics of mine soon. Looking forward to seeing some pics of yours Pete. I hear you about buying one complete vs. restoring. It is not cheap restoring these things, but what fun is writing a check? Jeremy
