  1. I was going to go to a car show in Naperville on Sunday. I was gonna check if they were still available before I left, but I had to bail at the last minute. I don't know if I could have fit them in my Barracuda anyway. Seemed like a good buy for the asking price. I hope you enjoy them. Jeremy
  2. Michael, you were the 1st to answer my very 1st post over a year ago. You have been an inspiration, and a wealth of knowledge for a fellow Cornwall lover. Keep up the good work, and here's to another 9000 posts Jeremy p.s. Watch out Speakerfritz is hot on your tail!
  3. I think last night's episode "Cold Stones" was one of the best directed episodes to date. IMO Jeremy
  4. I about threw up last Sunday. I can't wait for tonight though. I never miss it, even with the uncomfortable scene. Jeremy
  5. Nice looking pair of walnut oil Quartets on Chicago Craig's list right now for $375. Jeremy
  6. I agree with this theory also. I use RF-7's for the rear . Jeremy
  7. Since you asked a subjective question, I will give you a subjective answer. I prefer book shelfs over sound sprayers for side and rear channels. I like the pinpoint directionality better than flooding the area with sound. Remember this is my opinion only. Jeremy
  8. 1977 in my uncle's living room. He just purchased new Cornwalls. I was a very young, impressionable boy, and boy was I impressed. I own those very speakers today. Still impressed every time I listen to them. Jeremy
  9. I missed the fact that the Pioneer was a vintage piece. I do want to point out however, that the Sony DVP-NS3100 is infact a DVD player that plays DVD-A and SACD, and probably anything you throw in it. I'm not slamming using a DVD player for CD's as I do it my self with a Denon 2910. Most high end DVD players have excellent DAC's and do a great job with 2-channel CD's. I use the optical output for 2-channel cd listening as well. I concur with the use of the AudioQuest cables for this situation. Jeremy
  10. I've got a computer with Michael Dell's name on it. Maybe I should exploit that when I try to sell it. Jeremy
  11. I think Fish's point is that a DVD Audio / SACD signal is output in analog. I know Denon will do a digital DVD-A / SACD signal if you use their Denon link connection, but then you need a Denon receiver to process it. I think someone else does digital DVD-A /SACD through a proprietary connection, but it's too early in the morning to think of who that is. Denon uses a 6-channel analog output, so if the original poster is looking specifically for cables for 5 or 6-channel analog for $50, then it's a different ballgame. I also am very happy with Blue Jeans Cable. Jeremy
  12. I hope to reach that state of mind, but with a Blueberry/VRD combo. Would that make everything just "blueberryie"? [] Or would it just give me the blues? Not blues in a bad way, but in a Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker kinda way. Ahh.........nevermind [] Jeremy
  13. Forget surround modes. try 3-channel stereo. L-C-R. When in DVD mode, push the mode button on the front panel of the Ref 50. page through your surround options, then mono, then stereo. When you get to stereo use the up down buttons on the front panel until you get to #3. It is L-C-R. #2 is L-R, #4 is RF-LF-RR-LR, #5 is RF-C-LF-RR-LR. I believe there are 9 combinations. I hate listening to 2-channel music in surround mode. I use the digital coax out on my Denon 2910 to the DVD input on the Ref 50, and I use the optical output on my Denon to the CD input on the Ref 50. This way I can use the CD mode for listening to 2-channel music, without dicking around with the surround modes under the DVD setting. That is how I get away with using the DVD player for playing CDs. I have version 1.04 software, so this all may be of no help to you. I think you can upgrade the software yourself via the RS-232 port. I believe the newest versions of software are available on there web site. I think they even have a protocal file that tells you how to flash the eeprom. Good luck, Jeremy
  14. Are you in DVD mode or in CD mode? In DVD mode , push the mode button until you get to stereo. Then use up or down buttons until you get to #3. I believe #3 is L-C-R. I'm at work now so i'm doing this from memory. I have not had much luck using my dvd player in CD mode. So I use DVD mode to listen to music. I hope this works. Good luck. Jeremy
  15. ::I accidently put this in last weeks post, but it came out this week:: The Red Hot Chili Peppers new double disc is pretty good. It's called "Stadium Arcadium". If you like the Chilis' this is for you. If you've never heard them, they are a great rock/funk/soul band. Jeremy

  17. I didn't know what to do over the weekend with the forum down. I went outside and there was this big burning ball of fire in the sky. I was scared at first, but after a few minutes it felt good on my skin. I as walked around my house I noticed all these colorful fragrant things blooming form the bushes, and trees. Very confusing but I like it. I enjoyed my time outside while I listened to the Klipsch outdoor speakers on my patio. After 2 full days of this something has happened to my skin, it is all red and burning. I don't know what to do. This morning I was afraid to face the burning ball of fire again, so I stayed inside and checked the Klipsch forum. It is back up, and all is right with the world! [] Jeremy
  18. Thanx Colin, very infomative. There are a nice pair of Forte II on ebay right now. They are starting right at your average of $550. These are local to me if anyone is interested. I may be able to help out, or hold onto them. I may go look at them just for the heck of it. Although I certainly don't need them. Jeremy
  19. Congrats! Nothing like a little lawn fertlizing machine. Good Luck to you! Jeremy
