  1. I'll need to check more into the functionality of the TacT. It seemed that it does the things you mentioned for the DQEX.
  2. I've looked into the DEQX and it looks like a fine processor. What do you see as the main differences? I like the idea of the TacT processor and using the digital out to go into their digital amps although I could use the DEQX digital out, as well. Neither are cheap, however.
  3. I've had some great feedback to my first post and have decided to purchase a used or new pair of Khorns. Fresh blood for the forum! I've become extremely intrigued with this implementation: Khorns ALK Squawker horn and beyma tweeter upgrade TacT Audio Digital processor (EQ and room correction). Digital out to: (3) TacT digital stereo amps for triamping Khorns. The Tact amps accept a digital in and have virtually unlimited xover set up for the low pass, band pass, and high pass. So, digital all the way through until the drivers. Am I crazy or would this be a really killer way to go?? I must say that I'm impressed with the perceived quality of the ALK ES-networks and very impressed and appreciative of Al's time spent on e-mail correspondence so a digital front end with his networks would be the other system solution. What say you keepersoftheklipschforum? Rob
  4. Dean, You and I talked the other day on the phone. Thanks for your time. As an all out assault can you recommend a different squawker driver assuming I use the ALK/Martinelli upgraded trac horn? JBL, TAD, Altec, etc.???
  5. Klipsch has no idea who is a good Heritage dealer. They mentioned the guy in Terre Haute but he apparently is having troubles. Who is a really good, involved heritage dealer?
  6. Thanks for the various comments on Klipschorn placement in my post below. There was some confusion on available finishes so I called Klipsch again to inquire about this and to ask a few technical questions. The guy I talked to in tech. service answered the veneer questions and I then asked him about the current drivers and crossover in the AK4. His reply was that they changed the mid and tweet drivers so the AK4 was developed to integrate with the two new drivers. I found this odd as many on this site have told me that the real reason for the AK4, and real benefit, is that it really cleans up the performance of the bass driver. Then I asked him who the manufacturer of the mid and tweet drivers were and he told me they were being made ny alneco (his spelling. His answers made me think he really doesn't know what he's talking about. My question is: does Klipsch really support these Heritage products and have the in-house knowledge or has that all been lost with the passing of PWK. I can't help but wonder if they're cutting corners in the overall build quality of the cabinets, crossovers, etc. I don't mind buying a new pair of Klipschorns and ripping the drivers, horns, wiring, out and replacing them but if the cabinet quality isn't there, what's the point. Does anyone on this site have full drawings of Klipschorns? Maybe I'm better having cabinets built and starting from scratch. Rob
  7. How soon is he closing? I'm sure it was him I talked to on Friday on a pair of Klipschorns. He was checking on the price for cherry finish. Wow. Rob
  8. New to this site and considering corner horns. The only wall I can use has the corners 16 feet apart. My listening couch is 14 feet from this wall so the speakers if placed at the 45 degree angle in the corner would cross each other and intersect about 8 feet from the wall placing me 6 feet outside this intersection. Any opinions on how this impacts the sound. If this dimension is critical and I sit 14 feet away from the wall I would need the speakers to be 28 feet apart. This seems crazy, who has that kind of space? Thanks Rob
