  1. Hello everyone. I haven't visited here since My wife passed away in 2010. I lost My passion for klipsch for awhile and did some things I now regret. Mainly selling My K Horns, and a pair of Lascalas that I drove all the way to Chicago to pick up. I've been biten by the bug again and My passion is back. I've been on a bit of a Heresy buying binge lately. I would like to replace the oil can caps with sonicaps in the E crossovers. I was wondering if someone could post a picture of a wiring diagram with instructions as to how to do it. Thanks in advance. Doug S.
  2. I contacted Him early but haven't heard back from Him.
  3. It scared the hell out of my 83 year old mother. She was a sleep on a couch and the shaking woke Her up. Knocked pictures of a shelf and rattled glasses and dishes. She said it lasted about 15 seconds. She lives Near Ogdensburg N.Y. which is about 55 miles south of Ottawa on the St. Lawrence River. I Didn't feel anything in western N.Y.
  4. Neil at Shea's Theater in Buffalo was a very special night.
  5. Just doing the best that I can. Going to see Neil Young perform solo at Sheas's performing Theater in Buffalo N.Y. tonight. 2800 seat venue that sold out in 3 minutes. 15 seats in Front PIT row AAA. Took a lot of wheeling and dealing but I got PIT Front Row AAA seat #8. I will be dead center 4 feet from the stage with noone between me and Neil. If this doesn't put a smile on my face nothing will. Hopefully I will get some good close up pics to post. This will be the 33rd time I've seen Neil.
  6. Thanks to all for the well wishes and especially the prayers. Got a couple hours sleep last night for the first time in 5 days. I don't think I can stay here. Every where I look I see Her. This is hard on the dog to. He just sits at the window waiting. greif is to small a word for this.
  7. My wife (Barbara Smithers) passed away on Thursday 5/6/2010. She was 56. She had been waiting for a liver transplant for 5 years. I just wasn't prepared for this. I thought the doctors would send Her home to Me like so many times before. They just couldn't save Her this time. Family members will start arriving from Charleston SC tonight. I'm ok in that Her suffering is over. Her funeral will be at Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home 246 North Main St. Warsaw N.Y. at 11AM on 5/10/10. online condolences at www.robinsonand hackemer.com.
  8. Just to clarify. I have 6 pairs of Heresy I's. A couple pairs of transition year Heresy I's had E2 crossovers with K53 mids on K701 plastic horns. I have replaced the K53's with K55V (soldiered terminals) on K 700 metal horns. I have also installed the older square magnet K 22 EF woofers. If I have converted the E2's to E's correctly I will replace the temporary oil cans with new 2.0 UF sonicaps.
  9. This hopefully is correct for E crossover. Backside of terminal block showing how I rerouted the black wire from the 0 tap from the T2A.
  10. Thanks in advance for any help. Wondering if I got it right. I have hopefully converted a pair of E2 crossovers to E crossovers. With a stock E2 next to a stock E I noticed that the squawker connections were differant and the E2 had a capacitor bridging the woofer terminals. I removed the woofer capacitor. the #2 tap from the T2A connected to the E2 squawker positive terminal (#6). On the E the #2 tap connects to the squawker negitive (#5). I also noticed that the Black lead from T2A (#0 tap), connected differantly. It connected to the back side of the squawker positive terminal (#6) on the E network and to the squawker backside negitive terminal (#5) on the E2 croosover. To convert the E2 to E I installed the older oil cans. connected #2 tap to squaker negitive (#5) and #0 tap to backside sqauwker positive #6 terminal.
  11. For the first time in 8 years my Jonsered saw wouldn't start. I had a huge tree down across my driveway. Time wasn't on my side because it was snowing hard. I ended up buying a new professonal 50cc Husquavarnas. By the time I got home the tree was under a foot of snow. The chainsaw dealer eventually rebuilt the Jonsered carb and said ethanol was the problem.
  12. My back hurts just looking at that snow. I bet the thrill is starting to wear off a little now. 45 miles southeast of Buffalo with hardly any snow. a couple 18 inch snow falls but nothing serious. With a long drive thru the woods I have to push the snow 400 feet to get it out of the way. I plow every 4 hours to keep up with it. Quite often trees blow down which I have to cut before they get buried. Here is a pick of my driveway out by the road.
  13. This will be pretty special. Hope to hear something new.
  14. Just to clarify. The Camry wagon with 509,000 miles belongs to my brother in law. He is a traveling salesman. He covers New Mexico, and west Texas. I was a die hard Chevy man until He converted me back in 1999. He also sold me on Amsoil synthetic motor oil and filters. That 4 cyl. engine is still running strong. It has never been torn down. Only routine timing belt replacement every 70,000. At 509,000 it is using a little oil between changes and shifts a little slow when cold. My brother in law is fanatical about gas milage. The amsoil 0-30 synthetic oil increases gas milage by 2 miles per gallon. At 70 mph I get 33 mpg with my Camry 2.2 4 cyl wagons. I have owned 7 Camry wagons. In 10 years all of them have started everytime and never left me stranded. I retire them when at 300,000 or when I hit a deer, which ever comes first.
  15. Not looking for a car. We have a pristine low milage 95 Camry wagon that will last us as long as we need a car. It's a rust free California car that we only drive in the summer. I listed the K horns because I am going to have to move them eventually. The plan is to sell our cabin and build a new one. We have a corner parcel of land accessable from 2 differant roads. We will keep the back 12 acres. There is a beautiful spot to build. Completely secluded, High ground with a spectacular view that you can see for miles. Mature trees. Black Cherry, Hard Maple, Oak, and Beech. Deep ravine with trout steam and water falls. I am going to build it myself or die trying. I have had the beech logs cut and stacked for 3 years so I am ready to go.. Will have to put in electric and 1900 foot driveway. With a worn out back, torn rotor cups, heart condition and bad lungs it will be painfully slow. I am trying not to get to excited. Every thing depends on if we can sell our cabin. We paid off our morgage 5 years ago. At my age I am not going to go into debt. Being retired has it's up side but all the glitter isn't gold. Unlike a steady job, projects always get finished. I can relate to what Neil Young said. " I wanted to get done but not be done".
  16. Believe it or not I was able to pick up my k horns with the back seat folded down. Both Bass bins fit side by side width wise with 1/4 inch clearance between wheel wells. One top hat in the back behind bass bins, the other in front passanger seat. I needed help loading and unloading the k horns. I custum cut cardboard backed styrofoam with handles so I could slde them in and pull them out. I can load and unload Lascalas and Cornwalls with no help.
  17. In some ways 2009 was the best year yet, in other ways the worst. Christmas for me was in June with the release of the Neil Young Archives Vol. 1. I thought Hell would freeze over before I saw that day.
  18. 2009 has been a great year. 2 tours, 17 new releases, and a film.
  19. Is there a speed that every thing smooths out?. If the answer is yes one or both of the CV axles are out of round. doesn't seem like the Dealer could miss the obvious but nothing surprises me anymore.
  20. Because of the way things are I rarely buy any thing that has to be shipped. As far as eBay audio purchases go, this was right up near the top. I couldn't help but crack a little smile when I saw how flawless it was. I have had some time to play with it. All funtions work perfectly. Need to figure out how exactly to manually adjust the bias.
  21. I have been watching Nakimichi RX 505 Cassette Decks for quite a while. Found the one I wanted and pulled the trigger (eBay Item 180400571051). Like new condition with original box and manual. Cost me 510.00 plus shipping but well worth it. All the bells and whistles. Long Live cassettes.
  22. Went to an auction house in 1995 and bid on a Maytag Washer with matching Maytag electric Dryer. They were sold as we think they work. They were very clean and looked pretty new. Won them for 30.00. 14 years and haven't had a problem.
