  1. I've kept my eye open and have success finding Legends to hook up with my KLF 30s. So now I've got the 30s and a C-7 across the front and a pair of 20s on the side. Now I have to choose between RS-7s and RB-35s for the back surrounds(because that is all I have and am out of money). I am running everything with a B & K Ref 50/Ref 200.7 set up. Looking for opinions.

They are already correctly positioned to be used as a center - how convenient! Want something smaller? Here is a KV-4 that is also up for auction. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=14992&item=5782220462&rd=1 ---------------- I have a KV-4 in very good condition. One small ding on the rear corner but otherwise this speaker is very nice. $350 plus shipping from 29203 (South Carolina)

Otherwise you can have some of our resident crossover guru's build them up for you. (Contact DeanG or Popbumper (aka Chris Munson) I would absolutely do the center as well! Why improve on the mains without doing the most important speaker - The center! ---------------- Would you know a specific part number or brand that would be a good choice?

The bass response will smooth out and the high end will be more detailed and articulate. ---------------- Where would I get the components? Also, would I change out the center components as well?
  5. I currently have the KLF series mains as mentioned above. They really sound great. Would it be worth moving "up" to the R-7 line? Are they substantially better sounding than the KLFs?
  6. Thanks for the info Carl. I appreciate you taking the time to help me make a decision. Billy

  8. Opinions wanted concerning this matchup
  9. Well, I answered my own question. Picked up a nice KLF C7 to match my KLF 30s today and swapped out the KV4. It is much much smoother and I am glad I did it. There definitely is difference. If I can tell, the difference is obviously huge. One more question. I have a chance to pick up a pair of KLF-20s. Would it be better to use those as side surrounds and move the RS 7s to the back surround? Or I could leave the RB 35s in the back and sell the RS 7s. Any opinions?
  10. How much for the set and how much for the C7 alone? I will be in Savannah Friday, could pick up.
  11. CORRECTION My center is a KV4. It looks identical to the KLF C7, which is what I'm supposed to have with th 30s, but do I need to trade? Anyone wanna trade a KLF C7 for a KV4 in excellent condition? are they worth the same? Do they sound the same? Will I hear the difference?
  12. not sure I have THAT much available credit
  13. This stuff is so addicting. You set out to make a small upgrade and end up spending more than your parents did on their first house. Fun stuff, a nice and safe hobby although very addicting. I have jumped in with both feet. It started out with a set of surround speakers to go with my KLF 30s and KLF C7 center. A pair of RS 7s, a pair of RB 35s, a B & K Reference 50/Reference 200.7, a Denon DVD 2900, a Samsung HLN617W, a Martin Logan Depth subwoofer, a hughes HD reciever and $750 worth of cables later, I am broke but lovin' Home Theater. Whats next? I still have some available credit.
  14. I have a pair of KLF-30s for my mains, a KV-4 center, RS-7s for my side surrounds and RB-35s for my rear surrounds. I read alot of opinions about matching series, etc. Would it make a huge difference to go to a KLF C7 center and what's everyone's opinion about the side/rear surrounds matching up. It seems to sound good to me, but I don't think I would really know good from great. Just looking for opinions. BTW, I am running a B & K Reference 50 pre/pro, Carver AV-806x for front/center/side and an Adcom 100 watt 2-channel amp for the back surround.
