  1. The sound is great, in my opinion. The issue with needing to unplug it to kinda reboot it when it disconnects is a real pain. They just pushed out a software update that implies you can reset it with the buttons now and not have to unplug it, though. That should help if it works. Mine has not disconnected since that update, so I can't say if that work around works or not. Hopefully, they have just solved the problem of the disconnects. With all that, I'm not sure I can recommend getting one at this point. I remain hopeful that they finally fix the problem, but it's been out there for some time.
  2. I think I'll just stick with the digital connection for now. I can do my more critical listening on my devoted 2 channel setup. This is more for providing background music. Thanks again for your input!
  3. Yes, it will do variable and fixed output. Neither is high enough output in this case. Your comment on the soundbar possibly converting to digital is a good one. I know of other devices that do switch their analog input to digital before processing the signal. Very counterintuitive, but it is done sometimes.
  4. #1 is the only output option that uses the Node's digital to analog converters which will most likely be of higher quality than the DACs in the soundbar (I don't know what chips/circuitry the soundbar uses, so that may be a bad assumption). While the other outputs are accurate, high quality outputs, they are just digital outputs. The quality of the final analog output that goes to the speakers is what matters. In some cases the sound quality difference between devices may be small, but in others the difference is substantial. It all depends upon the quality of the DACs used. Of course you have to have very good input content as well. If the input is lossy mp3s, the quality of the DACs is negated.
  5. Thanks. I have the Node volume maxed out as well as the soundbar and could still barely hear it. I guess I'll just have to use the digital connection. I would prefer to use the Node's DAC as I think it is probably better, but I guess I won't be able to. Thanks for the help!
  6. @KevinB Not to highjack @Luca Pescatori’s post, but I am having the exact same issue as he is. When my BluOS Node is connected via analog, the volume is super quiet and only the fronts and center are playing. In my case, everything works great when connected with optical. Just the analog misbehaves. I have the latest firmware installed and have had the sound bar for about a year. Any other suggestions?
  7. Laminator - would you mind posting the phone number and part numbers? Sent from my moto z4 using Tapatalk
  8. Thanks for the offer, but I can do my own searching. I was just wondering if they were actually discontinued, but had not been shown as such on the Klipsch site. There seems to be a large number of them in Europe for some reason, but they get very pricey. Thanks again for the help, RandyH000!
  9. Thanks for the suggestions. I contacted Acoustic Sound Design and they said they don't have any now.
  10. Which sites specifically? Everyone I have checked seems to be listed as out or back ordered.
  11. Have the HP-3 headphones been completely discontinued? I would love to find a walnut pair, but every place I find a listing says that they are back ordered. Just wondering if there is some supply problem or if they are gone for good. Thanks, Ken
  12. I reloaded my sound drivers which restored the optical output option. Using this allowed the headphones to work correctly.
  13. For some reason, my KG-300 headphones are showing up as a mono device on my PC. I have them connected to USB and Optical. Any idea what I need to change to get the PC to recognize them as a stereo device? I attached a screen shot of the Sound Device Manager dialog. I am running Windows 10. Thanks for any help.
  14. Could anyone please tell me if the cable material on the X10i and the S4i are any different? I have an original pair of 10i and a pair of Custom 3 anda new pair of S4i. The cable of the S4i seems to have the bends set in it and does not straighten out. I find this very annoying. The old 10i had what looks like a similar material (though black) and it seems to be fairly straight now, but still has some of the bends left. The Custom 3 has a woven material that transmits rubbing, but seems quite flexible. The S4i pair does not fit my right ear well as it has to be rotated quite a bit. I would like to get a pair of X10i instead, but was wondering if the cable is the same. Thanks, Ken
  15. I hooked it up and it sounded as if everything was fine. Thanks for your help. Ken
