  1. I think you'll still be too close for rear speakers. RS-42s or 52s to your side will probably be more than adequate.
  2. The link below lists all the Klipsch systems by price: http://www.klipsch.com/na-en/products/home-theater-system/default.aspx?viewall=true
  3. Accessories4less has a great online reputation - I wouldn't hesitate about buying anything from them. I almost bought a Marantz SR7001 from them but stumbled on a deal too good to pass up on eBay instead. In my experience (I had an Onkyo TX-SR805 before my current Marantz) is that Onkyo does a stellar job with home theater but only so-so with music. Marantz does a great job with with movies and music.
  4. If your couch is sitting directly against the back wall like is shown in the pic I wouldn't recommend any rear surrounds. The only way you'd be able to use them is to go with in-wall or in-ceiling speakers which wouldn't be recommended by too many on here.
  5. End tables/speaker stands will work fine.
  6. The center speaker in a home theater setup produces well over 60% of the dialogue and sound. The RC-64 will give you much more detailed, dynamic, open and natural sound. There have been several RC-64s on eBay recently around $500. That is a lot of speaker for the money.
  7. It doesn't have anything to do with volume levels. It has to do with the fact that the speakers themselves are not reinforced enough where you would be connecting the wall-mount. Trey Cannon, forum moderator and Klipsch employee had this to say about mounting RS-42s on the ceiling: "NEVER mount a wall hanging speaker on the ceiling! The cabinet is not built to hold the weight of the speaker mounted like that. The "Key hole" mounts are only screwed into the MDF back with wood screws. They could pull out and fall. Then you have the key hole mounts, you can never get them tight enough to be sure they will not move off the screws. IF you want to have a speaker fall and maybe hit some one or thing, hang them on the ceiling."
  8. From http://www.federalreserve.gov/Pubs/leasing/resource/faq.htm "7. If I don't use all my allowed mileage, will I get a refund for the unused portion? If you purchase more than 15,000 miles per year, some lessors will refund unused miles. However, you will not get a refund for unused miles unless your lease states that the lessor will refund unused miles."
  9. If you have RF-63 fronts you'll definitely want to pony up for the RC-64. You can save a little money and go with the RS-52 or even RS-42s.
  10. I sold them to another forum member when I purchased my KG 3.5s. You should be able to pick up a pair of RS-42s on craigslist or eBay for around $300 pretty easily.
  11. I personally found a more noticeable difference when I changed the tweeter diaphragms to titanium compared to changing the crossover networks. I had a pair of RS-42 speakers as side surrounds for a bit and liked them with my Forte IIs. I stumbled across a great deal on a pair of KG 3.5 floorstanding speakers and replaced the RS-42s with them. The RS-42s were better with movies but I listen to a lot of music and music DVD/Blu-Ray discs and feel that the floorstanding KG 3.5s do a better job with music. Plus, I like that the KGs more closely match the Oiled Oak finish on my Fortes. I didn't really have a good place to wall-mount the RS-42s either. They were mounted a lot lower than what would be ideal but the way my room is designed limited where I could put them. I actually have my KGs on stands that are about 6" tall that I made from some leftover wood when we put wood floors in our kitchen. Raised them up so that they're now at ear level when seated. As long as you get something that can be put where you want them to be and that can handle the high SPLs that your Fortes do you'll be fine.
  12. Fotog, I'm guessing that's a stock photo of his Bello stand. I don't think that's his actual setup.
  13. Hallo Wim! My grandfather was from Holland and both his parents were also. Perhaps we are long lost relatives? [] Nice to have you here!
  14. Sounds like a great idea. Are you looking to build the subwoofer enclosures yourself or are you looking at a particular model sub? You'll probably get more mid-bass and mid-range impact with the RF-82 or especially the RF-63 but I've heard that the RB-81s are very nice. You might want to think about the vibration of the subwoofer affecting the sound output from the RB-81s if they're sitting directly on the subwoofers. I don't know how noticeably the sound would be affected but I have to imagine that the whole speaker vibrating from being so close to the sub might adversely affect the sound.
  15. The guy didn't wake up at all even though our dog was barking loud enough for anyone who was only sleeping to have woken up. Pretty sure he was drunk/high.
  16. Apparently he wasn't from our area. The police weren't sure what he was doing in our town, other than sleeping in a garage obviously.
  17. No kidding. I do always lock our house, even if I'm outside doing yardwork or anything else. Our entrance door is on the side of the house and you can't see it from the back yard. Unless you're on that side of the house. I think this was the last straw for my wife. She's talked about moving before and now she really wants to get out of this neighborhood. Stinks because its a nice little house with a fenced in and nicely landscaped yard with a deck, garage, shed, etc. The previous owners did a ton of work to the house right before we bought it, too. New roof, central air, new appliances, new furnace, finished the basement, refinished the hardwood floors. And, with the economy the way it is, it isn't the greatest time to be selling a house. However, our neighbors right next door had their house up for sale for just a few months and just sold it.
  18. She went outside to water our plants and garden and our dog ran over to the side garage door and started barking like crazy. She went over and looked in the garage window and there was a guy passed out inside. She ran inside the house and called 911. The police showed up and the guy had no ID and gave them a false name. He said he had never been arrested before. They took him to the police station and fingerprinted him and called later on to say that this guy has a rap sheet that's 11 pages long. He said that he wasn't feeling good and was just looking for somewhere to rest. My wife called me at work right after it happened and of course I freaked out and flew home but the police were already gone. Thankfully my wife was only shaken up by it. I don't know what crimes the guy did in the past but obviously if his rap sheet is 11 pages long he probably wouldn't think twice about hurting someone.
  19. Autosetup adjusted the sub to be +8dB? If so, raise the output level on the sub and run autosetup again.
  20. My KG 3.5s are only rated at 65 watts continuous/325 peak and I've never worried about the 110 watts the Marantz is rated for. Unless you listen at insanely high levels you'll be fine. By the way, I'll be heading out your way soon! Going to surprise the wife with a mini-vacation to Rapid City/Badlands.
  21. If your plasma TV has any kind of a stand on the bottom just set the KLF-C7 on top shelf and the plasma on top of the KLF.
  22. Explosions, bass drum hits, etc. You'd have to have the volume turned up quite a bit to be pushing an actual 2000 watts through the subs. I would imagine there would be some decent distortion that may or may not be audible at that point.
  23. That's gotta be a potent setup. Glad you were able to match the 3 series all around. Synergy speakers are a great bang for the buck, aren't they?
