Wife just rented it...will be watching it in a little bit!

When you run the LFE input, all controls of the powered subwoofer are defeated (I believe). Meaning you have to adjust everything as far as bass output level, crossover point, etc from your receiver.
The line inputs will work just fine.
-
LFE means Low Frequency Effect, its the ".1" of a 5.1, 6.1, etc system. It filters all the bass information into the subwoofer(s).
-
I wouldn't pay $2000 (BIN) but I'd be interested to know what the reserve on them is.
-
-
Not mine, and I'd buy it in a heartbeat if I had a surround sound receiver. Looking at completed auctions, they've sold for over $200 + shipping!
-
To me even with a sub, the Heresy being a fine speaker is a totally different animal sound, size, and feeling......
You might want to get some Fortes, which I highly recommend. Used they are selling in
the 400-500 bracket............JMHO.
Do you regard the RF-35s as being better than the Heresy then?
Any recommendation between Forte I or II?
Thanks!

I hate going through forum withdrawal. I actually had to spend some time with my wife!! []

At that price range you could look into getting a pair of RF-15s or RF-25s on eBay. I got my RF-25s brand new in the box for $366 + shipping. A huge steal, I know I got lucky.
Floorstanding speakers will give you a fuller sound and you probably won't be as anxious to upgrade them for a while.

Many sites view questions like that as a solicitation for others to buy that item. Most sites have rules regarding posting items for sale. Don't take it too personally, the Klipsch site is much more tolerant than many others I visit regularly. [H]

If I were to sell my RF-25s, are there any models that would be worth getting that would be roughly the same $$? I figure I could sell my RF-25s for the $400 range without a problem.
Would Heresys be a good replacement? I've never heard speakers that had a midrange horn. Do vocals sound better?
I have a powered subwoofer, so bass isn't an issue.

Here's a quote about the speaker wires for the Zu speakers:
Right out of the bag, Wax loudspeaker cables should sound better than the one it is replacing and it will get much better with play. For the first 24 hours the Wax will be a bit dry and lifeless compared to its eventual performance. Resolution and temporal accuracy will dynamically improve during the next 100 hours. After that forget about the burn-in, they will be sounding very good and additional gains should be welcomed not fussed over. Full burn-in is about 250 hours.
So, I take it they tell you the 250 hours is the full burn-in time so you are past when you can return them and when you realize these $540 cables sound no different than any other speaker wire?

In this house Klipsch is always welcome...
I think you just disproved your quote...
Plus I think in all fairness you should give a little more than 24 hours to make a knee-jerk reaction, especially considering today is a holiday (at least here in the U.S.) and the moderators are probably enjoying themselves and appreciating the fact that they're not sitting in front of a computer babysitting people on here.

They're not computer-controlled lights. None of that is actually happening in realtime. It's a stop-motion video. If you look to the upper-left behind the house, you'll see a neighboring house's light go on and off consistently with certain lights.
Did you even start to read what someone else had posted about this:
WRONG, WRONG and MORE WRONG!!!!
Look at the left side of the house, and notice that tower in the distance with the white blinking "airplane light". It blinks constantly, at about a second interval, through-out the video. If somebody was screwing around with the video footage with a digital video editing program, they would definitly messed up that blinking light in the background. I highly doubt anybody is that good with such a program to prevent that from messing up. That video is indeed legit. The seemingly jumping around vegetation at the bottom is just simply an artifact of the compression (which that guy had to compress quite a bit to make it managable for upload - would love to see a the full resolution video, or better yet, see the actual display - wonder if he is doing it again this year. Damn shame he doesn't say where he is at in the PlanetChristmas forum)
And for farther proof, I found this thread on ChristmasPlanet.com where the guy (one Mr. Carson Williams) that did the display started. According to him, it consists of some 16,000 lights and uses 88 Light-O-Rama (LOR) channels. He did it for last years (2004) Christmas. It seems Light-O-Rama is some outfit that makes programmable controllers and associated software. This is all done to Trans-Siberian Orchestra's "Wizards of Winter" track, form thier The Lost Christmas Eve album. Anybody with a little patience and technical know-how can pull this off.
I am certainly impressed, and has me inspired to want to try something like that!
There you go, Mr. Skeptic. [:@]

I'd really like to upgrade to a different subwoofer such as the Sub-12. Most of the subwoofers I've been looking at don't have any RCA outputs, though. I like having the subwoofer amplify the bass and leave the rest for my HK to amplify.
I used to use the high level input/output on my sub when I had my Sony receiver hooked up because it didn't have any pre-outs.
So why don't more subwoofers have an output section?

Not quite Animusic, but a definite jaw-dropper!

See my post here about how to get the first Animusic for less than $10 shipped!

If you go the tube route, get a Sony.
If you go projection, get a Mitsubishi.
Anything else (LCD, etc), go Samsung.

What's wrong with watching movies on nice speakers? If anyone else on here is like me, they have the volume turned up LOUD for most movies. Why not have speakers that can handle it and sound great at the same time?
Highest speed limit you'll find in the U.S. is 70mph on some interstates. Are you going to be confused by everyone who drives something other than a Geo Metro? I mean, what's the point of having a car that can do over 70mph if there isn't anywhere legally you can drive that fast?
