  1. In my opinion any speaker system with a subwoofer sounds better than stock speakers built in the tv. Since I don't have an iFi system, but I have tried other 2.1 systems hooking it up to the headphone jack and it sounds way better than average tv speakers.
  2. When I went to the movie theater yesterday, I have seen the poster Ice Age 2 coming soon. Im excited to see that movie when it comes out. The first Ice Age had mean sounds and graphics. I hope its still THX Certified.
  3. Bad Santa is the best bad movie for swearing. Its a great movie that you will get excited on Christmas Day.
  4. I have no clue how to hook up my home theater receiver to my computer. I have always been using computer 5.1 speaker systems, but I want to step up another level higher than pc speakers. I have a panasonic SA-XR25 6.1 receiver. Do I need to upgrade my receiver in order to hook it up to my computer? Also what kind of cables and tools do you need?
  5. What I will do is get a dB meter and try finding where the sound comes from. If not, you can always use bug spray or put some lizards in your house.
  6. The cables that came with the system was stock and it was all shredded. I always take the cables in and out while testing different speakers.
  7. I have recently change my speaker and subwoofer cables to Monster Cable THX with Monster Cable Connectors THX. I have no clue whats the difference when you change the cables. Does it give greater bass hits to your speakers and cleaner sound? Is the After Market Cables suppose to be use for higher wattage speakers and subwoofers?

Even tho I have a z-680 with a great sound card, in my opinion nothing can beat home audio speakers.
  9. Wow you turn your subwoofer level to 75%. I only put mines on 25%. In my opinion the subwoofer should never be above 50%.

IS performance similar? Should I search out a good price on one of these 3 models, or spend $100 more for a RW12 or SUB12 and are they similar in performance? ---------------- Well first of all its down-firing vs front-firing. I would go with the RW-10 or RW-12, because I like the sound aiming at the front of the audience not the ground. Plus it has more RMS watts.

Do you think I will get...good bass responce? ---------------- Your room is almost about the same size of my room, except mines is a rectangle not a square. My room has 8ft hight ceilings and not 9 ft. Assuming that the bass responce wouldn't be well in a small room, you should run those 2 Sub-12 Woofers in a larger room with higher ceilings. I tested my old 12in sony subwoofer running about 120 watts, because I couldn't carry my RW-12 subwoofer. My sony subwoofer sounded a lot louder in my hudge living room with 14ft ceilings. I can imagine placing my RW-12 subwoofer, and how loud it will sound in a larger room with a help of 2 people carrying it.

They might expect a lot from it. To me when I was testing it out at the apple shop it sounds great.

  14. I would get a panasonic receiver SA-XR25, because it is a slim receiver that has a lot of outputs behind it. It will put out enough watts even for floorstanding speakers. Go to froogle or amazon to check out the prices. The prices are about $150-300.
  15. Costco has a cheap KSW-10 subwoofer for only 209.99 I think. I don't know if thats only in Hawaii that Costco carries a Klipsch subwoofer, but if you do get any Home Audio subwoofers I hope you know how to hook it up to a computer speaker system. I think that you should just repair the subwoofer instead.
  16. Hey, should I replace my 4.1 speakers with a Quintet II, my speakers are broken. I only have 1 speaker left that is ok, so I've been thinking of getting a Quintet II and taking the 4 speakers to bring my pc speakers back to life. How is the SQ of the Quintet system, and does it sound the same as the pc THX speakers.
  17. Hey I just got my RW-12 and I have notice that the new Klipsch Synergy subwoofer is running 300 rms and a total of 600 watts. The RW-12 subwoofer is running 340 rms and 600 total watts. I was woundering which is a better buy. Also I have one more question for the Sub-12 model what is the woofer cone made out of.
