  1. Bill, This is an perfect solution for my needs. When I'm ready this is the system I will look for . Thank you.
  2. It was a typo Islander. I meant to say " are rear ported so they can't be placed on the wall. And a few inches is not really adequate for rear ported speakers, so my dilemma. I will probably have to look at other manufacturer of high efficiency speakers to compliment the Dared DV-6c hybrid multi-channel integrated amp w/ only 35 wpc into 8 ohms. That is why I initially posted this thread asking about the Synergy S10/20's used as fronts. I was hoping for what they weren't designed for. Some manufactures of floorstanding speakers use a front and rear tweeter to increase ambience and I was wondering if the Synergy surrounds would work that way wiithout being problematic. If used as fronts, I can mount directly on the wall. If they're rear-ported, they'll need to be at least several inches away from the wall for the ports to work properly.
  3. Well it seems like I have few options for wall mounted Klipsch speakers at a reasonable price. I guess the Gallery series or less costly Quintet are my options in my budget. Now to find out how the Gallery sound.
  4. Are you speaking from experience? If so, you confirmed my suspicions about surrounds for fronts. I'm not totally sure if the dual tweeters would diffuse the sound or just open up the soundstage. I guess it depends where they crossover at. To clarify, a sound bar is not what I'm looking for, as I really want wall mounted speakers placed in specific locations. Hoping for something better than the Quintet III. So the Galley speakers did seem like they are probably a good fit for wall mounting, but like you I'm not sure how they sound. They look trendy w/ small drivers so I'm suspect.
  5. I like to put together a 5.1 Synergy system but want to mount on the wall. Can the surround speakers made for the rears but used on the wall for front L&R? The Bookshelves are rear ported so they can be placed on the wall. Will the surrounds used for the fronts diffuse the sound too much?
  6. I'm entered and sure would like to win. Thanks for offering the contest.
  7. The only real difference I see on the specs are the x-over point on the 10's allow the mid/bass driver to handle the entire vocal range. Should be smoother and less shouty. But are the drivers and x-over parts the same quality?
  8. What is the difference between the RB-10 vs. RB-41 (II)? Is there more than the front baffle and speaker binding post detail? Is it just external cosmetics or is there more to it, like x-over, drivers, wiring? 'What's Hi-Fi' didn't give the RB-10 a very good review, so are these 4" woofer bookshelves not so good. I have a Klipsch RPW-10 sub I will be using with them to supplement the lower registers. I will be using in a 2.1 system w/ a Denon stereo (2ch) receiver for movies. Eventually I will be upgrading to 5.1 HT.
  9. I don't have a lot of experience with Klipsch but you must understand that with high efficiency speakers, like Klipsch or others, that your upstream components need to be of the finest quality. Any amplifier distortion, CDP harshness and grain will be brought to the light. The harshness you are hearing may not be the speakers fault but your upstream gear. Enjoy!
  10. This is an amendment to my speaker recommendation question. Because of size restrictions the speakers I am interested are the Heresy II, RF25, and RB35. Can you folks please comment, If anyone has experience with this amp that would be appreciated. Mike
  11. I have recently become interested in a high efficiency speaker for my 30 watt/ch Pass Labs Aleph 30 single ended, pure class "A" amp with 30w/channel. The Klipsch RF35, RF5, or Heresy II (w/possible subwoofer) are at the top of my list. I need small size speaker with audiophile sound. I have looked into the full range Fostex based speakers but have ruled them out because of shouty sound, weak bass, and thin sound. Your Klipsch recommendations are truly appreciate. Mike
