    BBQ/Smoker ???

I prefer to remove all skin and all surface fat. Then I usually cut the roast into at least two pieces...speeds cooking time and you get much more surface area which means more tasty bark. www.amazingribs.com is a wonderful resource for all things BBQ. What kind of smoker do you have? I use a Bradley. One more tip...google the recipe for 'Vaunted Vinegar Sauce" and then mix this half and half with regular Kraft BBQ sauce...SOOO good on pulled pork...you gotta try this!
  4. Rivernuggets Check out this link...amazing new technology that really works.
  5. Here is a link to Harmon Audio's free download of their training software. It was developed by Sean Olive and his gang at Harmon. Sean worked with Floyd Toole for many years. One must achieve a minumum score of 8 to be considered "trained" for Harmon's work.
  6. fella's name is Troy Macgillivray from Nova Scotia... I saw him live a few weeks ago...awesome stuff. He is an even better keyboard player!!
  7. I have a new favorite cd to add to this thread. Check out Emilie-Claire Barlow "The Beat Goes On". Lots of fun and a great recording job to boot.
  8. I have had the experience of putting up several ceiling fans....leave it in the box and crank up the tunes.
  9. We haven't had one of these threads for a while and since very few seem to frequent the "Movies and Music "section, I thought we might try this here. My current fave is "Rosanne Cash - The List" simply fantastic recording and production quality and arrangements. Credit to her husband John Leventhal... Let's hear your nomination.
  10. Cool pic Sputs...There is a bird called the Loggerhead Shrike ( AKA the butcher bird) that is known to impale its prey on barbs like this...maybe a possible explanation??
  11. 1-3/8" 18 TPI This could be tough to find...standard fine thread for 1-3/8" is 12 TPI .... (edit) Look for UNEF extra fine thread.
  12. Congrats on the completion of your project! To say that they sound better than the Altec 19's is very high praise indeed. You must be thrilled!
  13. Has anyone tried rotating the trachorn or the fastrac horn 90 degrees to see if the were more or less beamy (horizontally) with the higher frequencies?
  14. All of the home built mid horns that I have seen, have the two sides curved, and the top and bottom panels are flat. Has any one tried to design or build one where the top and bottom panels are the curved ones and the side panels are flat? Seems to me that if this were possible, that it might well improve the horizontal polar patterns of these horns, although the verticals may be squeezed... Floyd Toole teaches us that good dispersion at all frequencies, is a common denominator of all good speakers...seems that if the room reflections contain the same spectra as the direct sound, that they are not perceived as separate or distinct and therefore contribute to the overall spaciousness of the total sound...Any thoughts??
  15. http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/p/77380/765237.aspx#765237 This thread has some info for you...Yes the K55 starts rolling off before 6K, but your tweeter should be starting to come in about the same point, and the two slopes will "add" to flatten the over all response.
  16. Nice technique there Pete! Not sure if we should call this "thinking outside the box" though...[:S]
  17. Glad you got it fixed up....here's to brothers in law...
  18. I can only speak for myself but after many years of power tools and the odd rock concert, it is amazing how much hearing loss I have at frequencies above 8khz...
  19. Hmmm....so the new"tweak" for owners of closed back Khorns could be to add some leakage?[][][]
  20. Ok..I have seen backs put on to Khorns two different ways. The way greg928gts does it is to attach new backs outside of the vertical plane of where the bass bin normally meets the wall...here is a link. The other way is to do it like indyklipschfan had his done which was to insert the new back panels inside of the vertical plane. Is this the difference you speak of?
  21. Chris, I am having a hard time getting my head around this. I really don't see how closing in the back is any different to having false corners in regards to size of the final flare...
  22. In a 3x2x3 in. deep single gang switch box, the code book I use says that you are allowed to have 8 #14 gauge wires (not including bare copper wires) and 1 wire cap...or 7 wires/3caps...or 6 wires/5 caps. Using #12 wire, the combos are 6/1, 5/2, 5/3, 4/4, 4/5... so you are likely over the limit and should move the 14/2 light wire to the outside switch box. I would guess that your missing neutral can be found in the dead plug receptacle upstairs...remove the outer cover and use your volt meter to check for power between the smaller vertical slot(hot wire) and the metal box...if you have voltage there, there is probably a loose neutral inside there somewhere...
  23. So Coytee....did you ever get this figured out? Just curious...
  24. Are these clones using your CW 1228 drivers??
