  1. So say I am using banana clips, I only have to hook to one of the reds and one of the blacks on the back of the speaker? Why are there two on the speaker then?
  2. This may sound dumb, however I just wanted to make sure I wire these speakers correctly. I have a pair of synergy f-2 and on the back like the picture they have two posetive and two negative wire plugs. Do I just run wire to both, and then twist the wires together on the other end that plugs into my receiver? http://www.klipsch.com/products/details/f-2.aspx#
  3. None of the wire will be in wall with the exception of the two back speakers. They will be run through the floor and down through a crawl space under the house. The reason I ask is that the inwall has been sold out for quite awhile.
  4. I am about to purchase around 100 feet of speaker wire from monoprice. Can anyone tell me the difference between the Product ID: 2816 12AWG CL3 Rated Loud Speaker Cable - 50ft (For In-Wall Installation) and the 12AWG Enhanced Loud Oxygen-Free Copper Speaker Cable - 50ft. One is cl3 rated loud speaker and is for in wall installation. Is there really that much difference? Also should I get 12 awg or will one of the larger number gauges work as well? Thanks
  5. Thanks for the opinions. I've a bad experience with J&R in the past so I'm going to avoid them. I usually buy stuff at best buy since I worked there shortly during college I can easily return things.
  6. I'll check some review for the harmon kardon, all the reviews on the pioneer seemed to be really good however the best buy people said it wasn't a good receiver. Thats why I was really asking.
  7. We have a set of synergy f-3's, S-3's C-3, and 12 inch sub that we are wanting a receiver for. I went into best buy today thinking I was going to buy the pioneer VSX-1016TX, however the bestbuy sales person recommended the Harmon Kardon AVR-247 instead saying it was much better than the pioneer. They were even recommending the yamaha over the pioneer as well. Now I know power isn't everything, but pioneer seems to have alot more per channel that the harmon receiver. Which would be best for these set of speakers. We also looked at the dennon avr-1907, however it doesn't have hdmi which we really wanted.
  8. Hey I'm from Alabama, sometimes it slips Edited for Roc lol
  9. My father just purchased a lakehouse, as he is getting ready to retire in a couple of years. We are trying to outfit it with some new stuff, and stuff I currently have. Above the fireplace will more than likely be a 50 inch pioneer or panasonic plasma, not mounted, but on the stand. I have a set of synergy speakers I got for really cheap while working at bestbuy during college. I have 2 f 3's, 2 3's, 1 c3, and the 12 inch synergy sub. Probably going to buy the pioneer 1016 to push them which should be plenty. We considered buying two more s-3's for a 7.1 setup as well. The room itself isn't great at all for a home theater room, but we want to try it. Since my speakers are just sitting in the closet as I live in a town house now we are going to use them. Below is a simple houseplan diagram i was able to find on the internet of the house. Ignore the outside design of the house, as its different. I have also included some real pictures of the room so you all can get a better idea of the room looks like. In the pictures I've added where I thought the speakers would work, but I could be way off. Any advice would be great. Here is a link to the images at photobucket, as I couldn't get them to size right just inserting them in thread http://s78.photobucket.com/albums/j81/stephenp1983/lake%20theater/
  10. I found the HP at JR.com for 792 shipped which seems like the best deal on the internet, plus it went back up to 899 on bestbuy site. SO I will order it tomorrow from there.
  11. Thanks for all the opinions and comments guys I believe I will go with the HP LCD as it seems just to good of a deal to pass up on. I have also read that it is manufactored by sharp which made me feel better.
  12. The main reason that I wanted 1080i was for xbox360 games that supported it. Will the LCD be able to display the games in 1080i that support it? The two main things I will be using this tv for is Over the air HD broadcast which are pretty much all in 720p, and gaming. I'm not even sure if the 1080i would be better looking for gaming anyway. I know for tv broadcast for the most part 720p would be better. I am 99 percent going to go with the LCD, I just wanted to clear up the questions about the 1080i and the xbox360 games before I made the decision.
  13. The LG is a CRT Tube are there any that do 1080p? I am sure it is a misprint as I went to the store today and it said 1080i. Basicly what it will come down to is how does a HD Crt Tube tv picture and quality compare to that of an LCD tv. thanks for everyones post so far.
  14. I think I would be happy with the LG, but isn't the HP a better deal. I mean its a 32 inch LCD for the same price, with built in HD turner and 1080i 720p. Does anyone have any experience with HP's Tv products?
