Thomas Paine's Common Sense sold 120,000 copies to a population of three million—the equivalent of ten million copies in the 1990s. Noah Webster's Spelling Bee sold five million copies to a population of less than twenty million in 1818. Walter Scott's novels sold the same number between 1813 and 1823—the equivalent of sixty million copies in the 1990s. James Fenimore Cooper's The Last of the Mohicans also sold millions of copies.

  2. It's a big world out there.  Find ways to help people (not necessarily for free), and your social credit score will rise.

I like YouTube.  It has been a boon to the Age of Information.  Censorship is not always good, but it's not always bad.

For example, there are things I'd like schools to censor when it comes to teaching kids about sex.

  3. It is kind of interesting because YT and other social media can be useful for cult leaders to convince people to drink Kool Aid.

There are myriad claims out there, like horse deworming medicine curing cancer, etc.  I haven't checked, but it wouldn't surprise me to find advocates for drinking Mercury.

Should large companies be required to host such people?

Are they? Only two weeks ago, the Fifth Circuit just unanimously affirmed (Louisiana) Judge Doughty’s injunction against the White House, CDC, FBI, and others. Just ten days ago, the FDA issued yet another EUA for yet another jab when there was no "declared emergency."

There's still a lot more to lose on the table.

I am not aware of any further coercive action to require additional shots.

  5. Interesting conversation.  The 2 points that jump out at me regarding censorship involved (1) trying to shut down claims made that injecting or drinking some kind of bleach (or pool cleanser, or something  - I forget) protected people from Coronavirus, and (2) trying to hush critics of the vaccine because the vaccine program was too important to allow anyone to create skepticism and fear.

This thread might not last long, but IMO, our comments aren't really all that controversial.  These points are long outdated, and I don't think people really care that much anymore.

Google and our Government are separate entities.  See below for one example:

Is a lawsuit proof of extrication of a relation, or is it a manifestation of intimidation leading to a revelation about the power of our nation?

  7. In mid October, I plan to fly to Vegas, rent a car, drive through Yosemite to the West Coast, and drive up the West Coast to Seattle - mostly along Highway 1.  I'll probably return through Idaho and Utah, back down to Vegas.

Where are the best sites along the way, and how much time should I allow for them?  The whole excursion will be around 10 days to 2 weeks.

Non Profit ..Does not actually mean No Profit

It's just that Profit is not distributed To Stock Holders

Not distributed to them in certain ways.  Trips around the world are A-OK, provided they are "business-related."  There is room for perks galore.

That works for a lot of people, for sure. Some, however, go back to much higher calories when the "diet is over" - -after they lose X pounds. The hazard is they may gain it all back.

Alternatively, if you make a PERMANENT change to how you eat, and you eat a Ketogenic diet, you really don't have to count calories much. And you will lose weight very fast down to your "natural weight," which will be a BMI of about 20-24.

Eating meat and fat allows the organs to immediately signal the brain when you are "Full". The satiety signal works perfectly with protein and fat. It works much less well with carbohydrates which overwhelm the signaling system. And once you stay in the Keto mode, you won't get hungry between meals. You can easily go 24 hours between meals.

The DOWN side is that for many people adjusting to Keto is very difficult. For some it is impossible.

    Anyway, just a thought.

Do you eat fruits and vegetables?

  10. A "healthy" diet is one thing, and a diet to lose weight is another.

Bottom line (I think) is to count calories.  Limit yourself to 1,500 calories per day and walk for an hour a day.  Do that, and you will lose weight at a healthy pace - about 2 pounds per week.  Worked for me, and Fridays were "cheat days" during which I ate anything I wanted as much as I wanted.

Speaking of pool halls I just had my table covered with tour edition cloth in a pretty dark blue.  Balls roll so much better and it holds English now.

The two guys that stripped the old cloth, leveled the table and tighten the rails took about four hours.  Expensive but I'm pleased.

The billiard room would be a good music room as its much larger than my current room.  I can't have both without compromise though.

Too bad you're not over here.  My brother has a table, and we used to play a lot.  Now, we play a little together since I got kind of busy, but he still plays all the time.  He's a good player.  I'm a fair player.

He re-felted his table not too long ago, and it made an amazing difference.

A very good doc I was seeing simply prescribed Metformin and said absolutely nothing, zilch, nada, about my weight or my diet!

They deal with so many patients who will not change their habits that they just give up trying.

  15. I still kept my weight at 10 pounds above my optimum.  I have been eating crappy food without putting weight back on, but I don't feel as good.  I feel heavy inside.  I need to change back to more veggies, less carbs, less slop and less deep fried foods.

  17. I'm jealous!  Never been in that area, but I have always wanted to go.  Do you live there, now?

Edit:  NM, I started on Part 2 and missed Part 1.  Great trip!  Enjoy!  Send more pics.

I meant "fake" in a different way.  Kind of like a person comes up with an idea that he can market niche music and then, goes out and assembles a group for the visual appeal.  Much like The Backstreet Boys or the Partridge Family.

The members are not actually playing those instruments.  You can listen to the video and hear a missing drumkit (no rimshot), missing vocals, etc.
