  1. I'll ship internationally... I currently have a lens on the way to Austria. I had an offer on the lens from a fellow in Moldova but I decided not to do business with him. BTW, I listed my photo gear on photo.net this time to avoid ebay fees.
  2. So when exactly did these changes take place? The reason I ask is that my brother, sister and I all flew to a funeral in another state a couple of months ago. I made the online reservations for all three of us. I made an error in my sisters legal name (the one on her drivers license); her legal name is Judith, but we have called her Jude for over 40 years, and I made her reservation in the name of Jude. We got to the airport and discovered the error but when we went through security and we explained the difference, they said "no problem" and let her through. I can't stand all the new regulations either, my 84 y/o father-in-law (in a wheel chair and tubing inserted into his stomach for a food pump) would be required to undergo a strip search every time he tried to fly from his summer home to his Florida fhome or the winter...go figure! He did have a suspicious name though, (Abbott)! []
  3. My cousin's son has a '68 for sale...I'm not sure it is much of a "project" car though: http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/cto/1302185258.html And it's pretty far away from you.
  4. I've had a tunerless Pioneer Plasma for just over 3 year now and I have never missed the tuner. If you subscribe to cable or satellite you use their tuner with their remote for TV viewing. My current Pioneer isn't a KURO but I will probably get one while I can; the Pioneers' picture is superior to anything else I have seen (in actual use in people's homes).
  5. While I lived in Atlanta, we used a product called TWP (Total Wood Protection) on our wood decks and fences. It is a great product, lasts much longer than the wood sealants you get at Home Depot or Lowe's. http://www.woodsealants.com/

    Custom2 vs. S4

I have been debating which earphones to get also, but took the plunge today! Amazon is selling custom 2s for $78.03 w/free shipping! It's sold by Amazon too, not a different seller. The only issue is they say they won't be shipped 'till the 14th.[]
  7. You have always seemed easily amused. [] Typical troll tool; unnamed, Grand Poobah on the subject giving you (and only you) the real inside scoop! [:S] Cool!! Subject closed??!!
  8. Interesting point. Robin wouldn't travel cross country to hear a pair of Jubilees in a theater (although listening in a theater is what he demands); nor would he cross state lines to hear them in someone's home, but he would evidently rather go to Italy to hear them in Giovanni's home... Holy Troller, Batman!
  9. FYI, Everyone has explained the procedure to transfer funds from Paypal to your pocket; one thing you might want to take a look at...if you are not in a huge hurry for the cash, Paypal generally pays a higher interest rate on the money in your Paypal account than your bank will.
  10. Hmmm... I was just able to change mine without any problems. I didn't touch any fields except to browse for the photo, click "update" then "save".
  11. Do you have a heated humidifier? If you are getting condensation try turning down the heat; you can also try just using the humidifier cold (not plugging it in). You also want to keep the humidifier level with or below the level of your head in bed, if the humidifier is above your head the condensation can go down the hose into your mask. Try to keep the hose from dipping low toward the floor, the higher off the floor the less condensation you will get (it is better not to have a U shape in the hose between the humidifier and you)! At what pressure is your CPAP set? What brand of mask and headgear are you using? When you are first starting out it is better to go to sleep with the machine and take it off during the night than not using it at all; you hopefully will get used to it over time. I have had many patients use the CPAP machine while watching TV or reading to get used to the pressure while you are awake, it makes it easier to relax with the machine while you are trying to get to sleep with it. Good luck and don't give up too quickly!
  12. Check out the preamps here: http://www.juicymusicaudio.com/ []
  13. Dude, I agree with what you wrote in Colter's CPAP thread, and I agree 100% with the Scat Mats! I also enjoy putting fakes in front of the litter box for an hour or two or in front of their food, but my lovely wife thinks I'm sadistic...
  14. theplummer, there is no reason (other than financial) that your DME company should not let you try the nasal pillows. If they refuse, go back to your sleep doctor and ask him to write a script for the nasal pillows...the DME company will have to follow his directions! I'd look for another DME company if I were you...yours does not seem to put the patient first!
  15. Thanks for the link Wade; that thing is wild! Nasal pillows have been an option for non-mask likers since the beginning, but securing the pillows orally is really a great idea!
  16. That Yammy is a great piece of equipment IMHO! Not sure about the price though, I think it's a bit on the high side but if it is in perfect condition I might go for it. I'd go look at it and try to negotiate the price down a bit. Good luck!
  17. Many doctors will order overnight pulse oximetry done in the home as a "pre-test" for sleep apnea. The RTs put a clothes-pin like device on your finger that monitors your oxygen saturation during sleep; low oxygen levels are the main reason for instituting CPAP therapy. Many people snore and/or have apneas without the associated oxygen depletion and no therapy is indicated.
  18. As far as sleeping on the side or rolling over, the hose has a swivel at the mask end (you can have a swivel at both ends of the hose if necessary). The RT who sets up your equipment should help you find a solution to meet your needs. Many people start out the night using the CPAP and take it off sometime during the night, especially when you are getting used to it. If your titration was performed properly and you give the CPAP a good trial, your body will tell you if it is working or not. Even mouth breathers can get used to a nasal mask (much easier to fit and maintain a seal) rather than a full face mask. IMO you really don't need to worry about peak flowrates unless your pressure is very low; then weight loss and other modalities (oral appliances etc.) may work as well or better than CPAP. BiPap machines (NIPPV) have more flexibility in adjusting flow rates and I/E ratios...but normally that does not come into play!
  19. Many people get used to using the CPAP rather easily, once they (and their body) benefit from its use. Experimenting with different types of masks and headgear go a long way in actually making CPAP use comfortable. Hopefully your DME company will be a good one and give you lots of options and support. Good luck Michael and keep us posted on your progress!
  20. I owned a lowly AU-717 / TU-717 combo (70wpc integrated & matching tuner) that I used with everything from Forte’ to K-horns and they sounded awesome with all of them. I eventually 'upgraded' to tubes but I am real sorry I sold the Sansui pieces. BTW I picked the amp and tuner up at a garage sale for $35!
  21. What are your current speakers? As you know, the Heresy's are pretty efficient so they don't take a ton of power to drive them...they probably require less power than your current speakers.
  22. COOL, DON'T ACCEPT IT THEN, GO GET IT AND USE IT WITHOUT GLASS (OR BROKEN GLASS...); ITS YOUR CHOICE, YOU DECIDE! []
  23. Here is the thread: http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/t/104000.aspx
  24. "Garyrc wrote the following post at Fri, May 9 2008 7:44 PM: What a far cry from the days of the McIntosh Clinic when they would repair any old McIntosh piece of gear --- often on the spot -- and at no charge! Customer service used to be a high priority, at least on the part of certain companies such as Mcintosh, JBL and Klipsch (as far as I know it is still in style with Klipsch). JBL replaced an expensive tweeter I dropped from above a movie screen --- in about 5 days, for free! They had a "Lifetime Warranty" then that excluded mishandling, but waved the rule for me, without my asking. Paul Klipsch wrote a customer who asked if he should buy a K-Horn upgrade, advising him to give the money to the customer's favorite charity, and consider some future upgrade, when the audible difference would be greater. Bring customer service back in style!" If only we could go back to those days...things just don't/can't exist like that anymore.
  25. I have purchased Mac glass from http://www.audioclassics.com/ in the past.
