  1. So I think i fixed the problem but I am amazed by my findings. I routed my coaxial cable (cable tv) from the wall through my power strip which has a cable in/out and then to the cable box and the buzz has stopped. Logically I don't see how my cable from the wall being routed through a power stip and then to a cable box stops the buzz. The cable box is ONLY connected to my reciever by a digital coaxial cable and my Receiver is ONLY connected to the Peach in the HT Bypass setting. So, how could the buzz transfer from a cable box to the Peach if the connection is digital to the reciever? Is this a coincidence? I also have suspicsions that my ceiling fan causes noise since the Peach will often pop when the fan is turned off and on.
  2. No, just a CD player and a DAC going into the Peach.
  3. I have a buzzing sound coming from my RF-7s when I am using my Peach and I have a question about my set up. I currently have the Peach plugged directly into the wall and the B&K 200.2 amp also plugged directly into the same wall outlet. I also have a Monster Power strip on another outlet with my TV, CD Player, DAC, Receiver, Cable box and Subwoofer plugged in. Is the best way to plug everything in? Should I try plugging the Peach into the power strip?
  4. I am a very happy customer with my Peach II, sorry to see that Mark is closing the doors. Thanks for the great product.
  5. Interesting topic for this forum, the music is much better than their previous releases but the sound quality is the worst I have ever heard. The album has actually received a lot of negative press due to the extreme dynamic range suppression and subsequent clipping. It is the loudest, most distorted CD I have ever heard. I like the content but only listen to it in the car and in short doses.
  6. I am looking to add an external DAC to my Sony SACD/DVD changer to improve the CD playback. I am looking at the PS Audio DL III, Channel Islands VDA-2 and the DacMagic by Cambridge. Anyone have experience with these? What improvements should I expect over the $250 DVD player that I am currently using?
  7. Has anyone compared the DacMagic to the Scott Nixon DAC or the PS Audio DL III? Also would this improve my sound from a Sony SACD/DVD player? I notice that most people are using DACS for computer audio and not DVD players.
  8. Can you explain what improvements you have noticed? I am looking at Dacs as well to pair with my Sony DVD/SACD Changer and I am looking at the Channel Island and the PS Audio DL III. I am just wondering if I will notice any improvement over the Sony DVD/SACD player.
  9. Peach II remote. I have the new Peach II with remote and I realized the remote function does not work with my universal/learning remote unless I am very close to the unit. Additionally, using the universal remote causes the volume to continually increase until I hit the volume down button to stop it. I do not have these problems with the supplied Peach remote (works from across the room) but wonder if any knows why the difference? Is this because the Peach volume is not stepped like the universal remote? I want to know because I plan to move the Peach into a solid credenza and will have to use a universal RF remote that can work through solid wood doors. Is this possible with the Peach?
  10. This looks interersting, the P-37f is compared to the new Martin Logan Spire. I am actually looking at both of these speakers and would like to read the review. I currenlty have RF-7s but have an interest in electrostats. http://www.audio.de/Downloads/Vergleichstest-Klipsch-Palladium-P-37-F-und-Martin-Logan-Spire_4450745.html
  11. i know that no one could know which one will sound better to me, i guess my question is more what is so unique about the Oppo player? Sony makes $170 units as well as $3000 units, is buying an expensive CD player just snake oil? I will accept that CD players sound relatively similar but to suggest that one brand makes a $170 unit that is substantially better than any other brand seems odd.
  12. I don't doubt that it is good for $170 but is it better than the Sony i already have?
  13. I have also thought about the Squeezebox option, anyone compare the Oppo with the Squeezebox?
  14. So, would everyone think that the Oppo would best my current Sony?
  15. I am looking to upgrade my CD player and have a few questions. I am using a Peach II/B&K 200.2 RF-7 combo with a $250 Sony Sacd/DVD Changer. The Sony is the DVP685 and is about 5 years old. I was researching the Rega Apollo and have read great reviews but what caught my eye was the equally good reviews for the $170 Oppo 980. Is the Oppo to good to be true or does this simply demonstrate that CD players sound pretty much the same? Would I notice an appreciable difference from my Sony? Should I save up for the Rega?
  16. i just keep it ON all the time now, works perfectly, thanks.
  17. RSW-15 “Auto-on” I recently added a Peach II preamp to my RF-7, RSW-15 set up and have a question about the “Auto-on” feature of the sub. I now have the sub connected to the second set of outputs on the Peach and tell the Rotel receiver that I have “NO” subwoofer. What I have noticed is that the “Auto-on” feature of the RSW-15 is much less sensitive than with the previous sub out from the Rotel. I have to really turn up the volume on the Rotel (Peach in HT Bypass mode) to get the sub to come on. Any know why? Also I have noticed that when watching TV the sub never comes on unless it is Dolby Digital.

  19. I don't think the Jubs would ever fly in my house, the Khorn look somewhat like furniture and tuck into the corners but the Jubs look crazy big.
  20. I am an RF-7 owner and have a question about the Heritage line. i would love to "upgrade" to either Khorns or Cornwalls at some point but have read that exponential horns are not as open sounding as tractrix? Is this true? I know the Khorn is known for its bass but do they lack in any way compared to the RF-7? What about RF-7s vs CWIII?
  21. "I was skeptical of DBX Impact Restoration until I tried it. On the right material, it is incredible and jolts your gut like being there. It IS touchy and some control to eliminate impulse noises as from LP's would be nice...but when conditions are right and the material is right, it is kickin' on the K'horns and makes them do things I hadn't heard before." What???????????????
  22. I stopped by a Tweeter yesterday to directly compare Klipsch to Martin Logan since Tweeter sells Klipsch again. I have listened to the Martin Logan Vantages before and have been somewhat impressed with the way they handle vocals. I listed to a few Jack Johnson tracks and Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here. I directly compared the RF-63 to the Vantage and was surprised at the differences. First up were the Vantages, On WYWH they started off very good with the acoustic guitar solo sounding very real, lots of detail, heard some things I had not before, then the vocals came in and there is a smoothness to the Logans that is unique. The singer sounded like he was behind the panels a few feet. Then when the drums came in things went south. They really fell apart during this loud passage, which could be due to the amp being inadequate but overall they did not hold up to what I know my RF-7s could do. Next I listened to the RF-63 on WYWH. The acoustic solo also sounded great but with a more pronounced top end. It is weird because the logans seem to have less treble extension yet you can hear more micro details in the music (the sound of fingers sliding on the fret board). When the vocals came in they were clearly much more forward, a few feet in front of the baffle instead of behind. Then when the drums came in they handled themselves better than the logans but still not as well as I think my RF-7s would. Overall I now better understand what people mean about the importance of dynamics, this is what makes everything sound real and not like a reproduction. Secondly, I have heard from the Logan forums that the Vantages have much better midrange than the RF-7 but one could argue that they actually just have less treble and therefore hear more midrange because the overall volume has been increased. I have been thinking about getting some Logans for a while now but I think I may have changed my mind.
  23. Perfect, since the RF-7s don't go down to 20hz, the Hi Z makes sense. Thanks.
  24. I have the Peach II connected to a B&K 200.2 (33K ohm) and RF-7s. What are opinions on Hi vs Lo with this type of amp? What is the possible downside to using the Hi mode? Also, i noticed that the output impedance on the Peach in Hi mode 3.5K ohms is much higher than other brands, Cary, Rogue, Modwright, ARC. Just curious as to why? What is the advantage or disadvantage?
  25. Thanks again Mark. The guy on the Klipsch help desk did not know what he was talking about, your explanantion makes sense. I am excited to really hear the Peach soon!!!
