  1. Once they are repaired, will they be worth $300.00 each? You've owned them and used them long enough to need to be rebuilt, it is obviuos you like them. If they were mine, I'd probably have them spruced up. [Y]
  2. This might work......TrueRTA------CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD This is where I got if from------CLICK HERE Dennie Thanks.[Y] I think that's one reason I like bevel drives better, I just sold my belt drive.......... Thanx, Russ A beveldrive Ducati is like a Klipschorn, classic beauty.
  3. I need to adjust the timing belts on a Ducati 748. They are done now days with a glorified frequency analyzer. Is there any computer program I can download to use? I have a microphone that should be able to read the 110hz. [H] I only have a laptop in the garage, so, it will have to use what ever is in it. Of course, I'll have to turn down the Type O Negative that's cranking to use it.
  4. I'll probably get the Yamaha power amp out of mothballs and use it again. I replaced it with a Mcintosh 7270. It's my garage system, the McIntosh is just too beautiful to leave out in a garage full of dirty equipment that makes a lot of dirt, dust and grime. The preamp used out there is a GTP450, in the house I have a GTP500. When you get it hooked up, crank it to eleven and let 'er rip![Y]
  5. If I could justify it, I would purchase the Mcintosh MC2KW in a heart beat. Money is not the problem, common sense is.[:$]
  6. No problem, and thanks for the offer. Anyway, I have a Snap On borescope with a 8mm dia. end, I can do my own. [][Y]
  7. Money no object? Get a handfull of these. http://www.mcintoshlabs.com/products/mcintosh-mc2kw-2000-watt-reference-power-amplifier.asp
  8. As long as they both operate properly, no. I used an Adcom preamp and Yamaha power amp for years in my garage running a set of Cornwalls. Had a Yamaha preamp too, but it died.[:S]
  9. No, but I did see Pink Floyd live back in '87.[Y]
  10. Mcintosh amp, Adcom pre amp, Yamaha CD player, Cornwalls and a HSU sub. Sub isn't shown, it is buried in a corner. Tool boxes on the Cornwalls help "anchor" the sound.[]
  11. You're not going to be happy without running a sub, just do it. I run my Cornwalls with a Mcintosh amp pushing out 220 watts, of which only about 20 of them are used. It is plenty loud, but for the thump, the sub is turned on.
  12. Since you have already done the job and it really wasn't worth it, I'll probably skip it. Although, it would look better.[H]
  13. That's every Dylan album................ Thanx, Russ Touche.[]
  14. I've heard part of it. It will make babies cry and small children doubt there is a Santa Claus.
  15. Have a set of 1981's that I got for free a few years ago. I've replaced everything in them except for the midrange horn drivers. Bob crites crossovers, tweeters and even a new pair of woofers from Bob. Now, I'm thinking about mounting everything on the outside of the motorboard, instead of behind it like it is now. It just seems to me like that is the way it should be done. What say ye? As for dimishing the value of them, they are used in the garage, so they have a rough life anyway. And the fact that I never get rid of anything, I still have the very first pair of "Hi-Fi Stereo" speaker I evre bought.
  16. I have a HSU, works like a champ.[Y] It fills in the bottom end on a pair or Cornwalls.
  17. Try Uship. You put it out there, and people bid on shipping it to you. We just had a complete motorcycle sent to us for $120.00 FedX ground. It was probably close to 350lbs with pallet. Shipping them on a pallet is probably the best and cheapest.
  18. I am considering putting all or most of my CD collection bit by bit on a 1TB hard drive.
  19. http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/t/126699.aspx My post about my Adcom. Copy and paste link to view it.
  20. That right there, is why I never say I've seen it all! Quite a coaxial design.[]
  21. Sparked up my Watt meter. My Adcom uses 125 watts at idle. Mcintosh, 47 watts. Anybody else have an Adcom and a watt meter? I'll have to find the manual that came with it, I believe it listed power comsumption. Found the paper work that came with it. It lists the power consumption at quiescent as 192VA and full load 1440VA, so I guess the 125 watts at idle (quiescent) is about right.
  22. If it isn't rotted or torn, should be good. Some surrounds are soft, some aren't, depends on the design.
