  2. Um, How do you clean them once you've cleaned your house?
  3. Anyone know when the current Reference line will be discontinued? I just picked up a pair of RF7s, and wanted to eventually get the RC7 and the RS7s, but that was going to come in time. Looks like my time is running out .
  4. Hey Tom, How 'bout.. "The Adamsinema" hehehe .... When mine's finished, I think I'll just put a sign up that says.. "It Rocks Hard"
  5. I'm definately going to do this. I'll let everyone here know how it goes once I get started. http://www.lumenlab.com and for pictures of people's finished work... http://www.lumenlab.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=476 They end up being as big as some furniture, but if designed properly, they probably will work just fine in a nice HT setup. Take a look, this is for real!
  6. I might get in some trouble for this one, but... DJ Panzah Zandahz's "Me and This Army" "A collection of 16 Radiohead tracks remixed with snippets of artists such as MF Doom, Jurassic 5, De La Soul, and more. It's as if the white label gods planted sensors inside my brain; they heard my innermost mashup prayers, and answered them here." - boing boing A very interesting mashup attempt between Radiohead and rap vocals. Real fun to listen too if your interested in that kind of stuff. If you want the album, PM me and I'll send it to you. It's a free album, I just can't find the BitTorrent link anymore...
  7. Bill, no problem! I'm just glad you found it useful. While writing about the Image Resizer, I remember the ClearType tuner too. Glad you could put it to use! Now keep displaying your audio knowledge so I can learn more about it! I'm just beginning my speaker/listening/music journey now. In the end, its all about the music...
  8. ClearType basically smooths the rough edges of the fonts your computer uses to display text. It makes it much easier to read. http://www.theeldergeek.com/enable_clear_type.htm That page will tell you how to enable ClearType. The ClearType tuner basically asks you a couple questions and shows you some blocks of text, and you pick the one you think looks best. All text is then viewed with that setting. Much easier on the eyes!
  9. For those of you who love to post pictures, but often times don't know how to resize them, Microsoft has a great XP Power toy aptly named the Image Resizer that will automatically resize pictures for you. It's a great little program. All you need to do is select the picture (or pictures) you want to resize, then right click on the file name, goto "resize image" and the select the size you want. Small is 640x480 Medium is 800x600 Large is 1024x768 Hand Held is 240x320 It also will compress the image with very little noticeable difference in quality. Say your pictures are 2mb when you download them from your camera, it will resize them often times to sizes less than 100k! Perfect for the internet! Image Resizer download towards the bottom on the right hand side http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx Direct link to the program http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe You might also wanna try the ClearType tuning program too. If your not using ClearType, you should be!

  13. Hi, I was hoping anyone and everyone would be interested in posting a link to their favorite audio related websites, forums, books, and stores (for deals!) It can be on anything audio related, whether it's technical in nature or not. I know there's alot of audio related forums out there, and I'd like to browse those forums, but I don't know of them! Concerning books, a link to the cover on Amazon would be great. Basically, if you think its a must read, I'd like to check it out. If you know of any websites that over deals on occasion, etc. I'd like to know about 'em too! Hopefully we can get a good list going for other newbies like myself.
  14. Gilbert, ... http://www.tigerdirect.com ain't bad either.
  15. Dunno if it's been mentioned before, but... Matisyahu - Live at Stubbs (live reggae, rock, rap) Enhanced CD Very, very talented Hasidic Jew reggae artist from Crown Heights, New York. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007XT7TU/102-2462805-7120936?v=glance&n=5174&n=507846&s=music&v=glance
  16. Unfortunately I don't live remotely close to Yonkers, NY. I certianly want the warranty too. It's just that I think I can still save a hundred bucks or so on what my local dealer offered. $1800 for a pair of RF7's.
  17. http://cgi.ebay.com/Klipsch-RF-7-RF7-Pair-Black_W0QQitemZ5835938934QQcategoryZ61378QQssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Wanted to know if this is a scam, or if its legitimate? It seems to me this would be a wholesale price for a pair of the RF7s. Also, when it says "We Offer Warranties At Cost" does that mean that Klipsch will honor the five year factory warranty for these speakers from this seller? Any help would be great! Thanks.
  18. Hi, Was planning on purchasing the Apple Airport Express so I can stream all the music from my Powerbook to my stereo. How does it compare to CD quality if all (or most) of your music was encoded using Apple's Lossless codec? Anyone streaming to their RF7's that can give a thumbs up?
  19. Aight, I'm gonna pull the trigger on purchasing a pair of RF7's as soon as I feel the price is right, so what kind of speaker wire should I go with? Is best buy brand, or monster brand speaker wire sufficient for now? 8 gauge? 12 gauge? 16 gauge? Am I going to notice a difference? They're only gonna be a few feet from the reciever...
  20. Oh no doubt. They're great speakers. Just after doing a search, sounds like some people got them really cheap. Was wondering if it was worth trying to squeeze for a few more pennies, like maybe hundred dollars worth or so...
  21. Hi everyone; new to the forum, new to Klipsch. Basically new to higher end home theatre equipment too. I love music, listen to all types, and I'm looking to purchase the RF7's after hearing the RF35's, the Synergy 3's at BB, and Paradigm 9's. I listen mostly to music, but also enjoy a good movie from time to time. Anyways, I've spent the last two days in my local audio shop here in Orlando that carries Klipsch, and I'm ready to make a purchase. He quoted me $1800 plus tax for a pair of RF7's. This would be my first purchase from him. He also quoted me $2480 for a pair of RF7's and a RC7. Should I try and negotiate a lower price? I plan on making repeat purchases over time if this is a good experience. What would you negotiate for? Know anyone in Florida that can get me a better deal?
