  1. I am sorry SamS, I thought dtel had responded to your question. We had three choices, black, cherry laquer or walnut laquer to choose from. We had seen the walnut veneer on our tour of the plant the day previous to dtel's name being pulled from the hat. Normally we would have picked cherry, but the walnut was so beautiful, we chose walnut.

Right after dtel won Klipsch went to work to find out what finish we wanted. The plant manager told us the walnut veneer was some of the prettiest Klipsch had gotten in a long time. Having seen it for ourselves we knew he was right on.

Also, we had seen a pair of the new LaScalas in the new walnut veneer when we toured the plant. We thought if our Cornwall's looked anything like those LaScalas they would be beautiful. And they are.

There are some more pics coming that show the grain of this walnut. The grain is matched perfect, meaning it goes up one side, across the top and down the other side. These speakers appeared so perfect in every way, that dtel looked over every inch to find a flaw. There is not one flaw anywhere. He normally would not be that picky, but they looked so perfect he tried to find a flaw. Again, there is not a flaw anywhere on these speakers. They are truly a work of art and the folks in the plant should be darn proud of the work they do.

Our neighbor who is about twelve years older than us and also does woodworking came by to see the Cornwalls. He looked them over and could not believe the quality of the work. He also said you just don't find woodworking done at this level anymore.

We spent quite a while just trying to get the proper lighting so you guys could see the grain. It was kind of difficult because we have so many windows in our living area. The pics just sent to cyclonecj are of the Cornwalls in the house. I know he will get them up for you guys as soon as he can.

If any of you want pictures of anything else let us know, we will take the pics and get them up. We didn't want to "bore" you guys with our new found "love".

  2. I just sent cyclonecj the pics of the Cornwall's "in the house". If everything goes okay with the "sending process", he will probably put them up soon.

The good folks at the plant in Hope, AR photographed the build, provided me with a CD and our friendly forum buddy, Cyclonecj, took the time to get them up for us.

A big thanks to all. For you guys that have dial up it is worth the wait for the pics to load. IMO, the build is an awesome process and worth having the patience to see.

  3. Hey cyclone can we put a thread on General Questions and the Pilgrimage with a link to the pics. I really want to make sure everyone gets an opportunity to see them. I think the factory speaker pics speak for the quality and craftsmanship that go into every pair of Heritage speakers.

Heck, I think everyone ought to download the pics and show them to their friends that are "speaker shopping".

I don't think many speakers are "Made in USA" like the Heritage line anymore.

  4. That story is a little incorrect it happened to me for a few months.

I don't think to much about things like that.

I would wake up in the middle of the night, go to the bathroom, go get some water or something and just happen to look at the clock before going back to bed and it was always 3:33 . I never even thought about it until it happened for months, it did not matter if I looked at the clock when i first got up or on the way back to bed.

It don't seem to happen at night so much anymore, but it still happens fairly often. I can be working outside and come in to cool off or take a break and just happen to look at the clock and there it is. I don't wear a watch, because I tear them up.

It just happens ? When I least expect it.

RIght now, 2:33 CDT on Sunday, 8/13 is the first time I read this post. I am totally honest and serious when I say, I woke up at 3:33 this morning for about 5 minutes. So what is up with that?

No nap for me today, no way am I waking up tomorrow a.m.

    Travis

The story wasn't actually incorrect, the "middle of the night awakenings" had been happening to both of us for a couple of weeks before we mentioned it to each other. The "awakenings" continued regularly for a number of months for both us, and still do occur although not as often as in the beginning. The number 333 seems to be more connected with dtel's dad's "presence". I don't know how to explain it.

Dtel's sisters often hear train whistles when thinking or speaking of dtel's dad. Dtel's dad worked for Public Belt Railroad all of his life, so that is not surprising.

Dtel on the other hand tends to be a skeptic about some things, so for something to have any "significance" to him, it would have to be beaten into him. I guess his dad realizes that characteristic since dtel is just like his dad. It scares the rest of us sometimes he is so much like his father.

The 333 thing is far beyond a coincidence in our lives. It has been an integral part of our existence. Meaning... when we least expect 333 to come about it does. Like his dad's love of woodworking and his patience with the craft. That is the very reason he was the overseer of dtel's speaking building. He believed if you built something do it right or don't do it at all. I am going to try to get a pic of the doll cabinet he built for me and send it with the other pics to cyclonecj to post.

Dtel, Buddy (our grandson) and I were eating dinner in Hot Springs, AR Thursday night before driving back to Texarkana where we had reservations. Buddy asked, "Paw-Paw what is your lucky number?" Dtel said, "The number 3". I was kind of surprised, because we had never discussed "lucky numbers".

The next morning on the way to the plant I realized the 333 connection once again...see beginning of thread.

Sometimes we aren't in tune with what is going on around us. I think the more we "listen" the more we learn.

Maybe it call all be explained with johnyholiday's post? I'm not sure...so I thought maybe some of you would have comments.

BTW, that pic of the lighting is totally awesome.

  5. Here they are...... Dtel's Corns

Christy has not sent me any pics from home yet, but I will add them as soon as I get them.

    Cyclonecj:

Thank you so much for getting the pics up. It works great. IMO, the pics are best viewed in small, even for wireless. It was great talking to you again. Anytime you want to make a "scouting trip" down this way let us know.

BTW, the pics from home will be coming your way. That is if dtel stops moving the Cornwall's from place to place auditioning them each time he makes a move with them.

He took a few pics when we first got the Cornwall's home, but wants to see if he can get a few more pics with better lighting.

It is so great to have computer literate friends on the forum. Cyclonecj you just made my life a little easier. Between dtel and I being anxious to get the pics up, the folks on the forum wanting to see them and my lack of computer skills I was going into a "crazy spell".

Thanks again, more pics will be coming soon.

  6. So Christy, Have you decided you like the Fortes better than Cornwalls? Remember: Offer them here first! ;^)

I don't like the Forte II's better than the new Cornwall III's. I do however now realize how good the Forte IIs actually are.

The new Cornwall III's are very clear, kind of like dtels explanation above about the trumpet.

I can say the Forte II's are definitely one of the best speakers Klipsch produced for the price. They definitely would have been a bargain even at MSRP new prices when they were produced.

It is also my understanding that Forte II's are not truly considered, by some, to be part of the "Heritage" line. After listening to both the Forte II's and the Cornwall III's side by side, and considering the age of our Forte II's ('92 and 93'), and our Forte II's have all original components it is apparent the Forte II's have the right to be considered by all as a true Heritage speaker.

I would like to make a few minor "repairs" to our Forte II's. I think some new caps or possibly new(as close to original) crossovers would allow a more fair comparison of the Forte IIs vs Cornwall IIIs. I have to be totally honest here.

The Cornwall IIIs are definitely a keeper. Even if I did prefer the Forte IIs to the Cornwall IIIs I would never consider selling the Cornwall IIIs. At this point, I don't think I will sell any of my KIipsch speakers to enable "moving up". We will buy additional KIipsch speakers, but I will not sacrifice my two pair of Forte IIs or my Fortes or our Cornwall III's to do so. We will buy more Klipsch speakers as our finances allow without selling what we have now.

I have a genuine emotional attachment to the Cornwall III's. They will always be a physical reminder of the friends we have made through this forum and what the "small person" in America stands for. The tour of the factory, meeting the forum family and experiencing the generosity of Klipsch will forever endear my heart to the Cornwall III's.

  7. CJ set the FTP site up, but I am having difficulty logging in to send the pics to him. I sent him an email and am anxiously awaiting his return mail and/or response on this thread.

We will get all the pics up asap, including some of the home pics.

I want to thank all of you for your continued comments and support. Dtel and I both are still in shock. I can't believe we have been so blessed by becoming a member of the forum family.

Again, a heartfelt thanks to all of you.

  8. It's like when Paul was at the Proving Grounds, working on artillery. He came up with a new kind of big gun, and called it a Trey Cannon.

You know, I am sure your assessment is correct, Fini.

I mean Paul obviously knew a "big gun" when he saw one.

Look at the job Trey did with the Pilgrimage, if that doesn't prove he's a "big gun" nothing will. Trey pulled a few miracles off and it wasn't by shooting BBs.[H]

  9. Actually Dr Who I think we have at least two members with Cornwall III's. Or one member who has already received thier Cornwall III's and one member who is waiting for thier Cornwall III's to arrive.

BTW, I posted a little story under General Questions, 333.

    Thanks for the congrats.

I am trying to work with CycloneCJ, he has offered to put them up on his website as he has plenty of extra storage, then we can post two links, one for high speed and one for dial up users of the forum.

If it doesn't work I'll let you know and thanks for the offer.

You guys are going to love the pics from the plant. Once again, Klipsch went out of thier way to satisfy our request for signatures. Not only did they fulfill our request, they went above and beyond by photographing the entire build, putting names with faces on the pics and providing us with a disc to share the pics with everyone. Ms. Donna did tell me in one of the earlier emails that she "was personally seeing the speakers down the line". Once you see the pics it is obvious that she did just that.

I have to say, we now have eight Klipsch speakers in our living room, (plus the sub woofer) thank goodness we completed the addition before our addiction to Klipsch began. Like my kids would say, "It's all good".

  10. This post is not meant to be religious in nature, draw your own conclusions.

Dtel's father died six years ago. Our oldest grandchild, a boy, Buddy was born six years to the day dtel's dad died on July 26, 2000.

Right after Buddy's birth dtel and I both would awaken in the middle of night on different nights. After about three weeks of dtel being awakened he mentioned the episodes to me. He told me it was always 3:33 a.m.. I got immediately got goose bumps and told him the same thing and the same time had been happening to me. From there it seemed like the number 333 appeared routinely. A lot of times the appearance of the number could be directly linked to his father. In addition, dtel's mother was one of three children (girls), dtel was one of three children (1 boy, 2 girls) dtel and I had three children (girls). At the time of these revelations we had three granchildren (1 boy, three girls).

The number 333 has continued to show up at the strangest times, and again most of the time it is something that we feel his dad would have been involved in one way or another.

When dtel and I were first married dtel built a pair of speakers according to some specifications for the "perfectly balanced" speakers. Dtel's dad was a superior craftsman. He loved to build anything from wood. Doll cabinets, quilt racks, CD racks, toy chests, cradles, both doll size and life size, etc. Anyway, dtel's dad closely supervised the building of these speakers, as he did with other wood projects dtel took on (the mahogany entertainment center, our first waterbed, etc)

Jump forward...dtel is the third person to win a pair of speakers being given away by Klipsch, he won Cornwall III's, Hope, Arkansas is located off Exit 30, on Interstate 30.

Here's the kicker, the speakers dtel and his dad built were almost identical in size to our new Cornwall III's with a few minor differences in the components and bass.

Dtel and I discussed this on our way to the plant Friday morning to pick up the new Cornwall III's and I thought it was something worth sharing.

  11. 10 hour road trip today and these are sitting in my living room. WV is so beautiful and so are the corns. pictures to follow.

If I am reading your post correctly it appears congrats are in order.

Hope you enjoy your new Cornwalls as much as we are enjoying ours.

BTW, West Virginia is beautiful. The landscape of the state is awesome.

  12. The addition of our new Cornwall III's to the house and of course, comparing the Cornwalls to the Forte II's leads me to this question?

How many of you have ever had the opportunity to audition the Forte II's? Your impressions, if any? Comparison to Cornwalls?

  13. Notice the border on the certificate, it has horns all around the edge. The names on the certificate correspond with the pics on the CD. This is like the coolest thing anyone can have.

Knowing the history of Klipsch, the durability and reliability the Heritage line, combined with this documentation makes me realize how short life really is. It is entirely possible that the Cornwall III's, the two pair of Forte II's, and the pair of Forte's will one day be passed on to our children.

Speaking of which, I have to say I am still extremely fond of the Forte II's. For those of you who have not ever listened to a pair of Forte II's you might really be surprised.

Ms. Donna with Klipsch/Hope Plant told us she had a pair of Forte II's that she had not "even hooked up" in the past five years. I think she said she had them in a closet. I told her she might not want to give dtel any ideas because he might try to buy them from her. Ms. Donna said she had a pair of Fortes and sold them to buy the Forte II's. She said although she loves the Forte II's she wished she wouldn't have sold the Fortes. I couldn't believe she didn't have the speakers hooked up!

She also said her daughter bought a pair of the Cornwall III's and they helped her set them up. Ms. Donna said, "the Cornwall's were awesome. I was shocked."

  14. After meeting with Ms. Donna at the Klipsch plant, we went to the Klipsch Distribution Center in Hope to pick up our new Cornwall III's. There were lots of boxes with the Jamo logo at the Klipsch Distribution Center. I am not sure what was in the boxes, but there were lots of Jamo boxes. Looks like Klipsch is up and running with Jamo.

  15. I have forty two pics from the factory build of the Cornwall III's and several of them set up in our home. I could narrow the factory build pics down to 10 or 12 pics probably, plus four or five from our home. That is still fourteen to seventeen pics.

Even with proper resizing, I don't want everyone to get "antsy" waiting for the pics to come up on the forum. I know a lot of folks do not have high speed Internet.

What do you guys think I should do? Is there some photo sharing space on another site I can use and put a link on a post in the forum.

Maybe I should just send a copy of all the pics to someone more knowledgeable about posting pics.

The factory build is really something to see. The amount of hands on work that goes into the Heritage line is awesome.

Hey, for those of you that attended the Pilgrimage, the Cornwall III's went through the new paint booth!
