  1. The wife and I go down there at least every year. One of KW favorites has died. I don't know if you've been to Irish Kevins, but Jarrod Michael Hobgood has left the planet. He was an amazing entertainer and thousands went to see him monthly. You Tube video does not do his show justice. RIP JMH.
  2. You sure you won't consider shipping?
  3. Khorn transport smooth as silk. Slight rain but the tarp kept everything dry. Thanks George. It was great meeting you and the Mrs.
  4. Tried to send an e-mail but it got kicked back. I'm in St. Pete and am interested in maybe some of the other equipment. Please shoot me an e-mail.
  5. I had the 555 with matching 555 pre amp. It souded a little harsh at higher volumes on my Khorns. Classical Wynton cd's were almost unplayable. Still using an Onkyo 508 Grand Integra with matching pre. A lot smoother.
  6. I had a pair of Quartets sitting around not attached to anything so I canabilized them and got the Chorus back up and working. Now I will try Rat Shak for the terminals and see what they have in stock. The Chorus were an easy fix, especially when you have the right parts. No soldering required! I hope the Quartets are that easy.
  7. Bob, Is it a part I get from Klipsch, Radio Shak, or somewhere else? I removed the terminal cup but havent removed the circuit board. Will there be any soldering involved? Not the neatest solderer in the world.
  8. So the son got a little over zealous while vacuuming the floors this weekend. He broke the speaker terminals after pushing my Chorus II's against the wall. Damn banana clips. Anyway, does anyone know an easy fix?
  9. Oops, just saw this 2nd page. I'm thinking those weren't mine. Oh well.
  10. The one's in Brandon use to be mine. I had to completely refinish them. The tops were very bad from a plant and years in the sun. All parts were original, though I replaced the tweeter diaphrams in both. They do look and sound good although 1 grill was jury rigged on. But it's tight and looks OK. I thought they sounded great but I liked the sound of my CW II's a little more. It was close but I think the 2's are smoother. Now the 2's are gone to Mike Lindsey's and I'm enjoying a pair of Chorus II's. Very similar to the CW2's.The guy in Brandon is very informative. He has a lot of speakers in a large florida\living room. He also had a very nice pair of CF3's
  11. Sorry I didn't get an e-mail off to you sooner. Had a headache\neckache took some Aleve and passed out. Sent the Paypal out a few minutes ago. I know I should have posted on this thread but the headache was killing me and I couldn't look at the screen anymore.
  12. Jim, Thanks for the info. I had the wife call because I'm sure I wouldn't ask the questions she wanted answered. She is even more excited now then she was prior to her talk with you. I'm hoping we will both be offered jobs, but as with any federal job there is always competition. Thanks again for the help. You can find me in Outlook Mike.Barry or the wife Deedra.Jones. Talk to you later.
  13. Anyone have info on Martinsburg WV. The wife and I are considering moving there from St. Pete FL. I know all about the cold with 2 years up in Great Lakes IL but how about real estate, sightseeing, motorcycle riding\clubs, any and all info is welcome. Thanks. BTW Computer Geek for the VA here in St. Pete FL. Will be doing the same thing, albeit for the IRS, up in Martinsburg.
  14. Had one. Lots of hiss and that was using a HK730 as the pre. The TFM-35X I had at the time too was dead quiet with the HK.
  15. I have a black C7 that I would let go for $375 + shipping\insurance. I have the original box to ship it in too.
  16. Sounds too high to me. I just got a pair in great, though not excellent, shape for $225.
  17. Thanks for the replies. The tear is over an inch long. Will give Klipsch a call in the morning to get a price. Hopefully they will still have some in stock. If not, is it OK to get a passive reconed?
  18. Came across a pair of Chorus II's that have 1 torn passive radiator. Is it better to re-cone, replace, or maybe epoxy? I usually have the fronts set to large. Anybody?
  19. I just received a free SW-15 that needs some help and am wondering if it's worth it. It needs a new power cord, the passive radiator is ripped, and the front grill is damaged. Is it worth fixing these or would it be better to chuck it?
  20. Saw this on Tampa's Craigslist. Denon AVR-5803 - $1500 http://tampa.craigslist.org/ele/251716849.html
  21. Mike, Go to yourmusic.com. They have the whole Dylan library in SACD. The SACD's are also only $5.99. Not the best selection, but at $5.99 you can't go wrong.
  22. That was a steal for $300. Last year at this time, they were going for double. If I didn't already have one, I would had hit the button on that one. I did snag the Sony ES cd player from the same seller.
