It should be a great Super Bowl for a change and although I'm an old Philly guy, I like the Patriots in a close one. Once again, I give the edge to the Pats because of coaching. I like Belicheck. ---------------- Two of the last 3 Stupor Bowls were won on last second field goals by Vinatieri. I'd call each of those Super bowls. I agree about Belichick. The man is a genius.
  2. I'm not sure I understand this. The hi-rez inputs of the Panny are digitized at 96/24 in 6 channel mode and 192/24 in 2 channel mode. So aren't you utilizing an additional digital conversion with the Panny's internal DAC's?
  3. I'm a little confused about one thing: If the analog inputs are "fair to poor", how can LPs sound "awesome"?
  4. I just picked up a Sony CA80ES 5 disc changer for around $350 at jandr.com. Very smooth operation, nicely built, 5 year warranty. For around $300 you can buy the Marantz CC4000 which is also very nice. Not quite as well built, and I did not like the display or the fact you can only change 3 discs while one is playing, but it sounds very nice.
  5. Wouldn't adding internal bracing of the cabinet change the "tuning" of the cabinet since cabinet volume would be reduced by the volume of the added bracing? That said, I have heard that using threaded rod with large nut type devices at either end can be used to exert pressure against opposite panels inside an enclosure thereby stiffening the panels. Anyone ever try this? Besides, the rod takes up very little internal volume. Half inch threaded rod would probably be sufficient.
