  1. Thanks so much for the response! That was it. I mistakenly plugged in my sub to the incorrect "SW" jack on the back of the receiver. Once I plugged it in to the Pre-Out instead of the EXT-IN and ran the the auto setup, it found the sub with no problem. Thanks again. I love this site for Klipsch owners!!
  2. Yes. I have the sub powered on and it is NOT set to "auto" so it's on all the time. I have the subwoofer cable coming out of the back of the sub and is plugged in to the "SW" connecter on the back of the receiver. I can go into the receiver menu and select my 5.1 surround mode and even select "Subwoofer - YES", but when I go and run the speaker test with the microphone, it comes back and doesn't show that it found my sub. If I disconnect the sub cable from the back of the receiver and just touch the connector, I can here the sub making a loud noise so I know it's making the connection, but just not recognizing it. Thanks again.
  3. Thanks for the quick reply Bill. Hopefully, the setup will go smoothly and painless.
  4. I just purchased a Denon AVR-988 receiver and was wondering if anyone else had any problems getting the subwoofer to be recognized. Currently I have the RF-25, the RS-25, the RC-35 and the Synergy Sub 10 sub. I've been able to get everything hooked up, but when I run the auto setup for the speakers, the receiver is not recognizing the sub. I have my microphone plugged in and I hear the 10 beeps for each of the fronts, the center and surrounds, but nothing happens when it hits the sub. I've tried adjusting the volume and the pass both up and down with no luck. Any thoughts as this is the first Denon that I've owned? Thanks.
  5. Amy, I do appreciate you taking the time to research this question. It is pretty funny reading everyone's responses though.
  6. Thanks, JB. I'll play around with the positioning later on to see about getting the best setup.
  7. I recently purchased a pair of RF-25's, RS-35's and the RC-35. I was wondering if there was a break in period for these speakers before I really see what they can do? Thanks.
  8. Hey Rick, Thanks a lot for the info. I sent an email to Ancientdude in hopes that I can listen to this set. Sounds like a pretty good if all are in nice condition.
  9. Ancientdude, I just sent you an email. Let me know if you don't get it. Thanks.
  10. tkd, I do appreciate the reply and will take your advice on this one and try to listen to these first as I am a newbie and all. The only ones I've listened to so far are the RF25 and 35. Both sounded way better than what I currently own and for the price, I will probably end up with the RF35's for the front and the RS35 for surround. You mentioned that the RC-7 is "awesome". If purchased with the RF-35's, would the RC-7 be overwhelming or should I stick with the RC-35 for better sound? Thanks again.
  11. I have the chance to purchase (2) RF3 II floor speakers and (1) RC3 II center channel speaker for $750 (plus shipping) and was wondering if this is a good deal? I have never heard these before and am pretty new to the "Klipsch world". The couple of reviews I have read about these was they were lacking bass. I could easily hook up a sub if needed, but I was more interested in the quality / sound of these as I've never auditioned them. I will be more interested in movies and home theater rather than listening to music. Thanks in advance.
  12. I'm thinking of purchasing my first pair of Klipsch speakers. I've been reading a lot of reviews and articles about them and have auditioned the RF-25 and the RF-35's. I was reading some of the reivews and specs on the RB-35's and RB-75's and they look to be almost as powerful (if not more) than the floorstanding RF-25/35 line. I have the room for floor standing speakers and was just wondering if there was any drawbacks to getting the bookshelf speakers over the floor standing ones? If I were to purchase the RB series for my mains, would the RB series work well for surrounds or the RS series? My room is approximately 14' x 18'. My receiver (at this time) is a Sony STR-DE898 (which I've been looking at others to replace if I get these Klipsch speakers - any suggestions on that also?). The RF-7's are a little out of my price range and I think they would be a little too big for the room. So all you Klipsch experts, could you help a newbie out here with some suggestions? Thanks.
