  1. For the RF-7's i would at least have gone for 1090 or 1092. They dip down to 2,7ohms and loves a lot of current. I myself run 1090 on rf7, and 1095 on rc-7 and rf-5, it works very well! With that said, i clearly hear sonic differences between the 1090 and 1095 - the 1090 has far better control on the rf-7's, which again lead to far lesser distortion and far better dynamics! You will not believe the grip the 1090 has on the woofers and horn of the rf7's :-D The 1092 has a more laid back sonic signature to it, so if you are sensitive to "sss" and sharp sounds, maybe you would be more satisfied with the 1092. It is also a lot smaller, ligheter and maybe it dissipates less heat than the 1090 (personally my 1090 has never even gotten near any temp that could be describes as warm or less than that ) ). The 1095 runs hot pretty fast, but it is designed to work under hot conditions too, though if is placed a well ventilated area
  2. In my personal opinion the B&W speakers are very good speakers, but we all hva our individual opinions and preferences - and thank god for that! Though, B&W speakers have a lot more neutral, smooth and laidback signature, and this is just the opposite of the klipsch sound - which can blow you away with their superb dynamics and rough upper highs. When you watch a dvd concert with klipsch speakers, you really feel that you are present at the concert. With B&W speakers you get the feeling that you're at home enjoying a concert you couldn't attend to. Not said in a negative way, but they have very different sound philosophies. Concerning Rotel and B&W 800 series, Rotel is partially owned the same way as Classê is partially owned by B&W, and these audiophile brands coroporate together. The difference is that Rotel electronics are designed for B&W speakers up to the 800 series and the Classe electronics are designed to complement B&W 800/Nautilus series and visa versa. So the Rotel amps that you've heard probably aren't designed to complement the 800/Nautilus series from B&W (digital amps?) - though i think they would do very nicely! Especially the new RB-1091 monoblocks. I know a person with full 5.2 setup of B&W 802D setup, and he thinks that the RB-1092 is the best amp that he has tried on these speakers so far - especially among all the digital amps. He works as a test-journalist and has tried a great amount of amps, for ex. McIntosh 1200W monoblocks, the biggest Nagra tube monoblocks - and all this in his own enviroment, so i guess it only explains that the individual preferences end test surroundings variate. I wouldn't mind a B&W 800 series setup, but i think i would rather have bought a Klipsch Signature Home Theater System, which is said is on the way - after what i've heard at least! :-D Let's hope it's not too far away though!
  3. Okay Paul, if that is your opinion I myself have experienced that the svs's is better than the velodyne dd18 that i have owned earlier. Btw, i don't need two svs to get enough bass in my room. I bought two for the price of one dd18, now with far better headroom, symmetry and sound/bass quality. I respect your opinion Paul, but do not expect others to have the same sonic taste/preferences as you do. That depends on personal preferences and indiviual taste. Good bass is a very relative expression. Though i am glad that you have found the suwoofer that is right for you.
  4. The 12.3 upgrade sounds very good. Increased midbass and punch! Very good indeed http://avforum.com/myhometheater/show.php/Kai They sure does move air, and my god what powerful bass :-) I must admit that i am tempted to buy two Klipsch RT-12d and usen them as subwoofers in front behind the rf7's. A bit expensive though......
  5. Do you have any "live" pictures that we could take a look at? That would have been awesome
  6. Thank you again for replying How is the finish, speaker terminals, crossover, and bass reflex holes on rf-83 comparised to the 7s?
  7. Thank you! So would you recommend the rf83s for those who have rf7?
  8. Interesting! That was a really good sum up of them I really appreciate it! Still i am a little tempted to try the new ones out hehe How is the midrang in rf83 vs the midrange in rf7? Does the rf83 go deeper than rf7, and how is the mid bass (thats faboulos on rf7) versus the mid bass in rf83? Can you play louder with the rf83s than the rf7s? Alot of questions here, but it's interesting to know how different they are Thank you! KML
  9. Hi folks! I'm new at this forum, but have been a happy owner of RF7, RF5, RC7 for quite a time I see that Klipsch has come with a new Reference Line series, and I must say that I was a little disappointed at first sight. To be honest I was expecting 10" horn and 12" woofers But when I took a closer look at their specs, i realized that this is mean shit. The RF-83s has a frequency response from 29hz-21kHZ. 250W cont and 1000W peak. Better motors, drivers, cabinets. Heavier, MUCH deeper an higher, but not as wide I think these (rf-83) will give RF7 quite a test! Smoother frequecy response and not all those dips in frequencies response because of the big drivers in rf7. I think they will sound better an clearer. But this is offcourse just hypothetic assumptions, but I really look forward to hear these in real life. I am really thinking of changing my system to RF83, RF63 an RC64. This because of lack of midrange and highest frequencies. Offcourse I'm satisfied with the 7's and 5's, but what annoys me is the cheap cabinet, crossover, fronbaffel (inside), and the lack og midrange and highs. I really hope they have done something about this. It would seem like it since the rf83s weigh 52.x kgs, and has three 8" woofers I am also very curious of how the rc-64 would do against rc7. The rc64 doesn't run as deep as the rc7, but still. It's really huge, just like rf83. The rf7 is only wider, but not at all as deep og high as th rf83. I really look forward to hear about your thoughts and experience with these speakers! And I hope for some reply Sincerely yours KML
