I saw a single Palladium speaker on a rotating turntable at the Klipsch booth at CEDIA. It looked great. Looking at the mid horn was like looking down the throat of a jet turbine. Very neat looking. I couldn't see where the speaker terminals were though...

I have a Jolida 302b tube amp with JJ KT77's. I was just listening to organ music at moderate level (although it was at full organ and quite bass-heavy) when I looked up and one of them was glowing far more than the others (although still orange). The glowing decreased in intensity when I ran up to the amp and turned it down. I then switched the amp off to avoid any potential damage. These tubes are relatively new to me and probably have a couple hundred hours on them. I bias the tubes every 4-5 months. Any thoughts?

You can do two things here. If you want to play through all four channels, buy one of these http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2427999&cp=&sr=1&origkw=stereo+1%2F8%22&kw=stereo+1%2F8&parentPage=search it combines the two pair of left and right, but you will have four channel "stereo". If you only want to play through two of the speakers, don't connect the other two and only plug in the green plug. That's what I do.

Go to this page and have a look around. We use these baluns all the time. Work great and are easy. Just find an authorized Niles dealer in your area and they'll help you out. Good luck.

Well I don't. Plus, the 2700 has pre- outs for an external amp. Listen to it just with the 2700 and if you like it, keep it. If not pony up the dough and get some serious wattage. I don't think you'll be lacking with this setup though. Yamaha's have some of the cleanest watts and lowest distortion numbers you will find at a reasonable price.

With the RF-63's being rated at 99db sensitivity and the Yamaha rated at 140W per channel, I don't see a problem. Are you going to use a sub? Tell us more about the room and source equipment.

Good point. Also, don't try using a Paradigm center with Klipsch mains. Your head will explode. I have Studio 20 v.4's and I cringe to think what would happen if I tried using a klipsch center with it. The two sounds just wouldn't go together. I love Klipsch and Paradigm both, but not together.

If you want really good protection, look for something that has a battery back-up feature, EMI/RFI filtering, and automatic voltage regulation. Those units are usually more expensive, but they do more and give you more protection. Look at products by Furman that have a "PF" on the end of the model #, that stands for "power factor". That means the unit has ability to hold a charge to provide correct voltage in the event of a sag as well as limiting peaks. They also provide power in blackout situations. Good for rear project TV's and front projectors. Tripp Lite also sells excellent equipment. The HTRL15UPS is what I will be buying this week. Excellent piece and for a reasonable price. Don't buy into the different "levels" of power filtering. If it doesn't filter all of it, don't buy. (I do work for an AV dealer and I did a LOT of research on this stuff. I have been told by manufacturers (of audio gear) to use voltage regulating systems for any sensitive electronics; and no, I'm not a dealer for Furman or Tripp Lite). Good luck.
