  1. CECAA850, Thanks for the mention. How do you like your Anthem? I will also take a look at NAD. James
  2. SuBXeRo, Thanks for the mention on the Emotiva and Outlaw. I think I'm going to stay away from the Emotiva stuff, if they are putting the UMC-1 out with these issues I don't want to pay more for the XMC-1 and have issues with that. As far as Outlaw is, last I hear they were going to put something out but it got moved back to the first quarter of 2011, I wonder if it will be under $2000. James
  3. Rich_Guy, Thanks for the heads up on that Onkyo, I will take a look at it. I will also look out for your review since I'm looking to purchase something after the new year. James
  4. I currently have an Outlaw 950 but planning on getting a new TV by the end of the year. So with the new TV I want to upgrade the preamp to get the most out of the TV. I will still be using my Outlaw 750 amp, for the time being but might upgrade that also. I'm currently looking at the Integra 9.8 and Sunfire TGP-5 since both have hdmi connections. Are there any others that would be put into this same level? I know Emotiva has their preamp out but with some having problems with them I don't want to same issues. So I ask my fellow crazed Klipsch family to help me decide. Thanks for any help. James
  5. Then I would go for the floor standing speakers. You are going to take up that room any way with stands. Depends on where you are, can you demo these setups to see for yourself how they would sound? Also to take in your own movies and music to hear first hand how they sound. I know that I love my RF for movies but they are ok for music. My Heritage speakers are great for music and can get by for movies, but will take up a lot more room. When everything is over you are the one that has to be happy with the sound. Good luck in your search. James
  6. Are you talking about the 2011 models? James
  7. Happy birthday Glenn... [^] Hope you had a great day with your family. James
  8. Hello and Welcome to the forum Ryan, I don't have any real listening time with the setups that you mentioned but a few questions. Do you have room for floor standing speakers? Do you have to get speakers that are WAF, Wife/significant other Approval Factor? Is this setup for movies only or your everyday TV setup? Your receiver looks like it has everything and will be fine. If you feel that you need more power then you can always add an external amp to help power your speakers. It's always said to get the best speakers that you can afford, this helps cut down on the upgrade bug. You also have to be happy with the sound as the setups that you are looking at are different. James
  9. Hello and welcome to the forum. You are correct, the RF-42 II would be the replacement for the RF-10 setup. James
  10. Thebes and others, With all this talk about the 130R and 301 I was wondering if this would be a good match for my Thorens 160 with the TP16 arm. Using the Cart/Arm Matching page from "The Analog Dept" web site it looks like the 301 would be better suited. Any help with this would be great. The Thorens is connected to a McIntosh C28, would I need to add a step up for the MC cart? My only experience with this TT is the current cart, Shure M97xE, which of course a MM and hi output. Thanks, James
  11. Your funny....... [] What model Samsung did you have? James
  12. Thanks guys for the help to my question. Now that opens the door to either getting more TV for the same amount of money I was looking to spend or saving a nice part of it. James
  13. I'm also in the market. Is there any issue with burn in dealing with plasma TV's? With watching Sports Center or ESPN News as the main TV and the scroll bar at the bottom of the screen. If so would a LCD TV be better? James
  14. Dave is right, this was posted here some time ago and talked about, Max even chimed in. James
  15. Wow Dtel, you're going to scare the guy away. Take it easy at least for the first month then lay it on him.... [] James
  16. Just looking for thoughts on the remastered vinyl album "Blues" due out in November. I've been looking at getting a few albums and in another thread people mentioned this album. Should I look forward to getting it or hold out and look for an original used album. Just thinking since I was going to order a few things and will just put it off til this one is available. Thanks, James
  17. I know what you mean about the older receivers. I have 3 working at the moment, Marantz 2238B w/Cornwalls, H/K 730 w/Cornwalls and a Yamaha CR-1020 w/Heresy. I also have a H/K 930 that isn't working but a buddy picked it up for almost nothing so I want to see if it's worth fixing. Out of the units that I have the Marantz and Yamaha have a lot of buttons and switches. James
  18. Hello and welcome to the forum.... As stated the Forte is a different beast compared to the Heresy. I would wait to upgrade anything and just listen and see how you like the speakers. Some leave their speakers and some upgrade, all personal preference. Were do you live, maybe some members would invite you over if they have these speakers so you can hear first hand. James
  19. Hogfan, No problem, glad it worked out for you. Now turn it up, I can't hear it...... [6] James
  20. Ouch, that doesn't sound very promising can you elaborate on that comment? Stormin, It was the opposite in Mike has a pair that he did a mod to so they are defiantly not original any more. Since I never heard the original Chorus II speaker before, this mod might have ruined it for me. They sounded great but the speaker that is in the works looks to be even better, now to just get those subs made to finially hear or feel the house move. James
  21. Hogfun, All you are going to need is 2 single RCA cables. On your HK 347 you have pre-outs so hook one RCA to the right and one to the left channel. Then on your AU-717 connection them to the in-put for the right and left channels. Your speaker wire will then come out of the AU-717 and to your speakers. Your HK will now run your others speakers in your setup and the AU-717 will run your fronts. James
  22. Sorry for the hard read above, posting from my BB doesn't work too good. James
  23. I have to thank again Mike and Mike for everything. I great time and learned a lot, thanks guys. The Pro Corns sounded great, now I just have to tell myself that I don't need a pair. The mod's done to the Chorus II I think have ruined my first time listening experience to Chorus line but that's fine by me. Then the custom speaker, that was very cool to see the work done and then be able to listen to it, a really great speaker. A great time to see and talking to people face to face, some already friends and to meet new ones, with the same feelings for the Klipsch brand no matter what speaker you have. James Btw, I got pulled over before I even hit 72. Traffic was great only an hour and half drive. Would do it again anytime.
