I love bass, so the ear thing doesn't bother me too much, it's just for listening when I'm in the library/at home when everyone else is studying. Did you ever compare them to senhessier, etymonics, shure, ultimate ears, westone, etc? I know klipsch speakers stacks up to all brands as I have tested them side by side to others, but I cannot honestly say I'll have that sort of chance with other earbuds. Klipsch speakers have been time tested, but the earbuds are pretty new so I just want to know how they stack up.

Hi guys I was wondering exactly what the difference was. I thought that the more driver, the better. So by the looks of it, the custom 3 probably has 2 or maybe even 3, but the image looks like it only have one. So what's with the cost difference? Which sounds better? I'm pretty confused by the whole ordeal. I know nothing about ear buds and my iphone ear buds are pretty bad.

I personally like heavy bass, but I also like good mids as well. Either case, you won't know unless you compare them within either a close time frame or side by side. My ear isn't too discerning, and looks do matter so I went with the 7 series.*I actually got the whole 7 series, rc-7, rf-7's, rs-7's and a rsw-15 for just $1200!* I was thinking about heritage, but it's ugly. Not such a great review from me, though looks do matter.

Nvm I found the problem.

So my speakers are RB-75's and sit on my desk but every so often the righ channel drops out, or if I lightly hit the table it's sitting on. It never had this problem before and I don't play them loud at all. I thought it was the speaker wire, but when i shake it, it works fine. It only happens when I right speaker moves a little. Any ideas? I'm sure some components are more susceptible to breaking than others so I figure hopefully it's something easily fixable. Btw the left speaker is perfectly fine.

So when I had my setup I asked here for what was a good card and what wasn't and basically the recommendation was SB audigy or X-Fi by creative. This was great and all, but then my speakers started to pop and the right channel would just drop out so I thought gee I need a new sound card. So I stumbled upon the E-MU 1212m and wow what a difference. So I put it into my computer and then tried to plug it all in, it uses 1/4 mono jacks for the analog out, and it wouldn't work at all so I played with it for hours. Then I realized, Vista is pretty incompatible, so I loaded on XP instead and found out it worked, but still the channel was dropping out. So eventualy I found out my wires weren't connected too well into the reciever *shrug*. Either way, the DAC is SUCH an improvement over the x-fi. After I loaded it on, my housemates knew the difference which speaks a lot since they aren't the ones listening to it everyday. I would say that before the change, the speakers lacked clarity, crisp highs, and defined mids. *This was the reason that I upgraded to RB-75's since I thought my RF-3's just couldn't do it. Anyone looking for a sound card for purely music or just 2.1 configurations, go with E-MU 1212m *the 0404 has a different DAC that's a little bit lower end* and also get rid of vista since it won't work with it. I'm just so estatic! It sounds like completely different speakers!

Oh yeah I've seen something along the lines of the heat ray. It's called a HERF which is basically a channeled microwave using a parabolic dish to concentrate the waves. Though I do suppose that this would be far more fun seeing as how HERFs can damage electrical equipment and also easily cause sterilty. Anyone know what frequency that military heat gun is at? I still like the bass option and the bose cannon.

Hopefully you guys don't see me as another ill-willed immature kid, so let me fully explain the situation. Every few days my neighbors come to me to complain about how my cars are parked in my drive way and is appauling to him. When my friends come over, he complains that the cars on the street are cramping him in, he feels as though we're aggressive because i kicked opened the door one day, not hard, since my hands were full (if I kicked it hard, it would have hit the wall, thus damaging it). He is whines about how the leaves from my tree falls onto his lawn occationally, he is accusing me of having my tree's roots attack his water lines (which they are not even close, about 10 feet or more away). This is while he has had major construction done to his backyard which entailed 7am jack hammering for hours on end for a period of about 3 or 4 weeks. I get notices by him left on my car about how rude I am etc. The list goes on forever. I know that I could just use a transducer to emit pretty high frequencies in the upper range, but since I'm younger, that'd be a pretty bad idea (senstivity increase). Since I live under HOA I would like this to be more or less undetectable, or at least as undetectable. So anything that's audible wouldn't work so well.

I just plan to buy cheap drivers and a cheap amp off of craigslist then use a computer and make a program to create either bursts, 5 second long, or 20 second long clips of 18-20 hert sound every 5-60 minutes. I plan to use either a 12" or 15" driver, perhaps bigger if I can get a good deal on it. It will be the ultimate annoyatron *referenced from thinkgeek.com*. I'm planning to aim it at a window or somewhere that'll possible create resonance as to cause the most amount of rucous per watt lol. 3 Yeah I was having difficulties thinking of a way to channel the sound. Since I'm not an engineer, my knowledge is limited to a brief understanding of physics.

Hey guys I need to build a project, a little out of boredom and a little out of sheer annoyance with neighbors. Anyways does anyone know of a way to make a directed subwoofer cannon that only emits low base (around 18-20 hertz)? Size isn't really an issue, but it just has to be very low and directional. If you guys have any ideas, blue prints, or anything at all, that'd be quite helpful. Thanks

Oh! I never knew that one. I just figured the woofer seemed more of a high bass (in frequency) reproductor and really didn't think that it would produce much lower spl. Is the surrounds made of paper that's beveled a few times on the edges?

What type of surroundings does that thing have? It looks like a regular woofer driver as opposed to a meaty JL or Velodyne. Either way I'd probably just buy a JL driver off of craigslist or ebay and then just make your own custom fathom.

Well you really don't need a big tumor at all. If it's positioned correctly where the auditory nerve synapses in the temporal lobe then it's problematic, but not hard to remove. If it was large you'd have tons of other symptoms as well usually. Although this information is a bit miss leading, people have had 2 inch diameter metal poles driven through their heads and lived perfectly normal lives. Even though the above is possible, it's 99% not that case where ear damage or calcification of the ossicles or something else is more likely. There's millions of things that can go wrong, but guessing and worrying when it's probably nothing won't do you any good. I'm sure you just kept the volume a bit louder than you should have.

All I can say is consider the long term as opposed to the short. Since I live in California the potential huge earth quake generally always resides on the back of my mind and if a huge speaker, like the cornwalls, or even an RB-75 were to careen into my head, then damn I'm dead. Also I think most wives would object to hanging the speakers since it looks too sporadically strewn... oh and also a little peril. [] But you know the coolest way to have your speakers orientated would be to encase them in a levitating magnet field and wirelessly control their angle and position with a nice universal remote. Good luck with the mounting, just REALLY reinforce the hell out of them.

Hi everyone I'm selling my parents KLF-20's and I'd like to offer them first to Klipsch members on this board first before sticking them on ebay or audiogon. They are in light oak and are in decent condition. Small nick on the back edge and a few other locations, few small scuffs on the grill, but no dents or scratches on woofers. They work great, but I need to sell them to due a recent upgrade. I prefer to sell them locally as custom boxes and shipping would be rather cumbersome. I must say that I bought the KLF-20's over the KLF-30's because of the fact that the KLF-30's, in my opinion, have a bit of a gap in the sound where the woofers and the middle horn doesn't overlap as well.

Good god that's a lot! I just bought the 7 series (rf-7,rc-7,rsw-15,rs-7) and was contemplating to keep them in my room, but due to financial issues, I've had to sell some of them and running them in a 15x16 room with a 37" LCD with a set of RB-75's. Oh well I've just got to keep my stuff portable. There's no way I would have been able to lug the 7 series around with me anyways. Also there's no way you can mistake the GSX 2.1 for the RF-7's. I initially thought that the 5.1 ultra's were the epitome of sound and that more expensive speakers were simple a status symbol until I actually had money and bought some. The 5.1's are a good deal, the iFi's are nicer sounding, but reference or heritage are loads better. I really hated the RF-3's sound and I would definitely buy heresies or RB-75's. Don't buy the towers yet they are way to hard to move around.
