The Sr. Delgado (Forte III) a "Best of" CES by AVS
thisgsx replied to Travis In Austin's topic in General Klipsch Info
I agree. I have a custom diy 15" ported sub setup that is the size of a coffee table and it looks good sitting right where the center would be. It looks perfect with my la scalas. Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk -

I agree with you completely and I can't speak for everbody but I refuse to run another heritage speaker for use as a center. For aesthic reasons. Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk -

I understand that but a true center channel that is built and designed to be horizontal rather than utilitzing another full size tower from another heritage line. Running 3 full size towers up front just doesn't make for a waf. Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk -

I'm sure the academy's do well with the fortes but I was referring to the klipschorn, la scala, belle, and cornwalls. Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk -

What I would like to see from Klipsch is for them to come out with a true center channel for their heritage line rather than using another "tower" from the heritage line like we do now. Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk -

I agree! The midrange on the La Scala is amazing! Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk -

I currently have the Fortes I, La Scala I, and Cornwalls I. I would place them in this order: La Scala, Forte, Cornwall. Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk -

How do these sound compared to the original k-horns? Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk

So the widest I was able to place them apart are 10' toe'd in, left tower in a corner and the right tower sits right where the living room opens into the kitchen and yes the sound stage has expanded tremendously. You are right. These Cornwalls need to be at least 12 feet apart. The imaging is near perfect without Audyssey. The sound is big and a lot smoother than it was before although still bright and in your face. I believe with more tweaking it should clean and even out more. Running Audyssey will probably clean it all up. Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk

Yes I totally agree. There's too many factors involved and saying heritage prefering tubes is a generalized statement, but I got that from all the reading I've done the last few years in regards to the heritage line. I don't have first hand experience so I shouldn't have used that statement. Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk

It's not that they're bad but from what I gather, heritage prefers tubes. However, I don't believe its the amp because if it was then the La Scalas would sound just as bad. If anything it's a reflection of the speaker itself that is giving me that sound and not so much the amp. Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk

I know heritage prefers tubes but the Emotiva's sound signature is very close to the Marantz. Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk

The Corns are currently about 3 feet from the back wall and about 7 feet apart. Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk

The Corns are stock, unmodified. La Scalas are also stock and unmodified. I'm running a Marantz sr6011, Emotiva XPA-5 (2nd gen) amp. When I have more time I'm going to run Audyssey on the Corns, move them back further and wider apart to see if that improves it. Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk

Here is what I notice so far. Cornwalls: bright, harsh, in your face, thinner than la Scalas, fuller in the bass region, more bass. La Scalas: warm, smooth, airy, huge and wide sound stage, more midbass/chest punch type bass. Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk

Just picked up a pair of Cornwalls I and wow, I can't believe that Cornwalls are big. They're bigger than the La Scalas I have in my living room and the plan was to throw these into my bedroom to replace the Fortes I currently have in there. One thing though, I'd like to put to rest the La Scala vs Cornwall dilemna for good. At least from my own perspective. I've read too many good things about the Cornwalls and couldn't pass up on these even though I know I shouldn't have. Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk

Has anyone attempted a custom la scala center channel build ?
-
Will audessy be enough? I was thinking rc-64II for center, la scalas for mains, and rs-62II's for rears.
-
Another heritage or la scala is probably out of the question...

I call dibs... how much shipped to 92220? Any more pictures the cabinet? How does the Academy compare to you using another Forte as the center channel?
