  1. I was going to do the PC-Ultra, but found a pair of the +/2 for about the same price used, and those will kill a single Ultra. If you are looking at the current version ultra, SVS typically says that the +/2 gives you 90% of the output at a much lower price. You might consider doing a pair of those instead of one of the old ultras.
  2. Great condiition, I got it when I purchased the rest of my KLF line speakers to complete my home theater, and have no use for it. $300 obo can email pics, and can demo for you in jacksonville beach fl
  3. Mitsubishi 52"DLP Receiver/processer:Pioneer1014 Amp for L/R-Adcom 555mkII L/R-KLF30 Center-KLFC7 Surrounds-KLF20s Subs-(2)SVS PB12.3+/2 Still looking for a deal on an Adcom 5503(which is 3x200) , am planning to turn a KLF20 into a center, then swap the other for another C7 and use those for surrounds. Eventually will move to a projector set up. This is way overkill for this room, but my next house will have a big theater/game room. Front: KLF30 with SVS sub: Rear Also have an SB3 that I use as a monitor(the other one needs a new woofer)
  4. I have 2 PB12.3+/2. We were using them at 3 on gain and about -5 on my Pioneer 1014 this weekend, mixing Florida bass and electro with a pair of 1200M3s. My neighbor, who lives across the street (his house is about 200 feet away), came over to complaing about hearing it in his LR. They really did not even sound like they were breaking a sweat either.
  5. I recently purchased a home theater from a person in order to get his KLF20s and C7 to complete my HT with my KLF30s. In this package, I also got some stuff I don't need. Open to reasonable offers on the following: 1 B&W ASW1000 subwoofer in great condition 1 Yamaha RX-V2095 Receiver, works great, remote is a little wonky 1 pair of Klipsch SB3 bookshelf speakers, 1 is fine, other the woofer does not output sound. I work for a Klipsch retailer and will be probable fixing this myself, unless someone needs it for parts. Need to unload this stuff quick, it's taking up way too much space, PM me with offers. Items located in Jacksonville Beach, florida
  6. I will be picking up a set of KLF20s this weekend, along with a KLFC7 to go with my KLF30s. They are in black. I'm going to make the C7 a surround speaker, and do the HornEd mod to one of the KLF20s. I would like to swap the other KLF20 for a KLFC7 +some $$ and use your C7 for my last surround. I would be open to the possibility of doing the conversion for you before we swap as well(obviously, this would increase the amt of cash I would want on the deal). I need the C7 to be in black as well. I will not have any of the boxes for the KLF20s, however, they are in tremendous shape. If you just want to purchase a single KLF20 for a center, I'd be open to that, but I'd really prefer to find the last C7 I need and do this all at once.
  7. I went ahead and finalized the deal today, so I've got a C7 and a pair of KLF20s on the way. Is there anything that should be done in addition to the HornEd mod while the front of the speaker is off (bracing, etc?)
  8. After months of searching, and either 1)having the money but no speakers to buy, or 2)finding the speakers but no money, I am about 95% sure I'm picking up my holy grail this weekend. I currently have KLF30s, driven by an Adcom 555II, and 2 SVS 12/2+ subs. I have a 52" DLP. I'll also start looking for a deal on an Adcom 5503 so I can put 200w into every speaker. This weekend, I'll be picking up a pair of KLF 20s and a C7. Eventually, I will be going to a projection setup. Eventually, I would like to go to a 7.2 setup. I want my center to be 3 way, like the KLF30s, so I'm going to convert a KLF 20 to a center, and use the C7 for a surround, and probably trade the other KLF 20 for another C7 and some $$ to someone who wants to upgrade their center. Right now, this would mean taking off the motorboard and cutting a new one for a horizontal KLF20. 1)if you go to 7.1, is there a reason to mix dipoles and direct speakers? I have an inside tip on some S6s that might be for sale, but I don't know if I ever would have a use for them. My room now is not long enough for 7.2 anyway, so I would have time to hunt down 2 more C7s. Any reason to go KLF across the front, S6 for SL and SR, and the C7s for rears? Do dipoles have ANY use in a 7.x system? 2)I have heard rumblings about center channel performance being degraded by having your mids/highs in between the woofers...since I'm going to a projector later, I could leave the klf20 vertical and the height would be fine...but that would mean that I couldnt do that now and stay under my TV. If the performance doesnt matter, I can make the conversion now and use it just fine later. 3)What do I need to do to the KLF20 to make it shielded from my TV? (or does it matter)...it would be literally right beneath it if I go horizontal. 4)How would SB3s work as my rears in a 7.1..I can get a pair that needs to have some work done really cheaply, and I work for a top tier Klipsch reseller, so I can get the parts at cost to fix them 5)On the KLFc7, the horn is already oriented vertically....I want to stand them up on stands for my surrounds, which would orient the horn horizontally like the front speakers....will this affect the C7(I know this probably is just opinion, but I'm wondering if I would get a wider sound field out of it) Basically, I'd LIKE to make the KLF20 horizontal for looks, both now and under a screen, but if there is a significant performance gain from leaving it vertical, then I'll leave it and make do for now.
  9. I have a pair fo the 30s for my L and R, and after searching, and finding the C7, but not having the money, or having it, and not finding it, I finally think I've got one I'm picking up this weekend...but I'd really like to match the 3 way of the klf30s for my center. I'm getting a pair of KLF20s and a C7 this weekend....I think I'm going to make a KLF20 a center, make the c7 one of my surrounds, and trade the other KLF20 for a c7 for the other. You can use the KSP-s6 for surrounds, but if you want direct radiating speakers, there isn't really a solution for the KLF30s(aside from using KLF 20s or 30s) I know a person using the SB3s for surrounds...I don't know how close those would be(I know they aren't perfect.) I have some ?s about the klf20 conversion, I'm going to start another thread on that, you may want to watch it and see what people are thinking is the best way to handle our situations.
  10. I could get you a pair of RF-52s (towers), a pair of RB-51s(bookshelf surrounds), and an RC-52(center) for $1050+shipping, then add a Pioneer 1016 for around $425 and an Elemental Designs A2-300 sub at $235...would be a pretty solid starter system. Another solid option would be SVS SBS-01 surround package which runs $1200 for 4 surrounds, the center, and the PB12-NSD sub. You could make it 7.1 for another 200 bucks We really need to know what size speakers you will be allowed to put in the LR...is a 4 foot tall, 120 pound KLF30 an option? Do they need to stay bookshelf sized?
  11. I see it for me...I'm also tempted to grab that package with the KLF20s, convert both of them, resell one, resell the M&K sub, and keep the KLFc7, so I would just need to grab one more C7 to have my HT complete(for now). Eventually I think I'd add 2 more C7s and go 7.1 Is there any reason to do dipoles if I'm running 7.1? If I have direct speakers in the rear, I think that negates the need for creating a sound field back there with the dipoles.
  12. I thought since Ebay, for some reason, is flooded with KLF series speakers right now, it would be a good idea for any of us wanting to get a single speaker and do the conversion to work together. For instance, there is a pair of KLF20s in a HT package on Ebay right now, that is close enough to me that I could go pick them up. If someone else wanted one, I could split the pair up (it would help for me to know beforehand that the other speaker was sold). There is also a single KLF30 on ebay currently. It doesnt really matter to me if I did the 20 or a 30, but I'd hate to see us all bid these things up against each other when there are so many on Ebay available right now. If anyone would like to work with me on getting the pair of 20s and splitting them, let me know. The package with the 20s also has an old M&K subwoofer, which we could resell to further lower our out of pocket cost. I work for an authorized Klipsch retailer, so if we needed any parts for our conversions I could get them for cost. I'd like to end up eventually with a KLF20 center, and 2 KLFC7s for my surrounds. There is also a pair of KSP S6s on ebay right now as well.
  13. I got my KLF30s with original boxes and packing material for $200 on craigslist last year... still waiting to find the c7 for 50bucks to make it complete
  14. wow...almost on demand...2 separate auctions on Ebay with black c7s, and an auction with a pair of KLF20s, a c7, and an old M&K V-3b sub popped up. I could buy a single c7, then the package auction, then resell the sub, and make 2 KLF20 center channels, and sell one of them, and probably pay for a good chunk of what they cost me in the first place.
