I am fairly confident however this is a new to me house with several subpanels and poorly marked. I will get an electrician in when. The cameras, NVR, HDMI baluns and extenders are to be installed first of the week so I can always run an extension cord to the UPS that is powering the rack as the extension is heavy duty and the equipment doesn't really draw much. Modem, gateway, 16 channel NVR with 9 POE cameras, NAS and 24 port POE switch.

The other side of the wall is the master bathroom vanity. This is directly (2-3 ft) below the closet light switch.

I have a closet where I am putting my networking and home security equipment. The closet has no electrical outlet but there is a single gang blank off that has 2 white, 2 back and a ground. The 2 whites are twisted together with a wire nut as are the black wires. At first I thought no problem either I will pigtail into the wire nuts or just connect all 4 to the available lugs on the outlet. I checked voltage and found 243 vac from neutral to hot. What's up here?

A pair of 396s. One is supposedly customized to be mounted horizontally (used as center) but there is no marking to indicate which one. The invoice noted one as "custom". Packing list calls out "horizontal horn need to be horizontal at the minimum IDEALLY basge on the grill needs to be horizontal and centered on the bottom". Typed as printed. Haven't de-boxed yet but both badges are centered on the vertical bottom as they are on normal 396s. So I unboxed them. No markings to identify the modified speaker. Flashlight thru grill ID'd the changed HF horn. Pulled off the grill and yes one has the horn mounted 90 degrees off under (or over) the port. The emblem will not be so easy to move as claimed. It is glued, not plastic riveted and there is foam glued to the inside of the grill which will have to be pulled back on one horizontal and one vertical edge and then re-glued which will be difficult to maintain straight edges without bunching. I am thinking that the center 396's horn should be mounted with the bottom of the HF in line with the bottom of the Jub's HF and the port at the bottom. Just tidbits for anyone considering using a 396 as a center. I do appreciate Klipsch taking the time to set up the mill to modify the motorboard. Is this STILL a KLIPSCH?

I got to listen to my Jubs today. Nowhere near set up. Optical from TV / Spotify into the Parasound pre, Xilica and 2 Parasound amps. Temporary setup awaiting other things but I am greatly impressed. I was expecting a loss of bass due to room (closed on left and open on right) but I can hear and feel this. Noise deadening shades for the 9 windows come Tuesday. In the end this might be good.
