  1. Wish I could formulate all the question in one post but I can't / didn't Roy, when you guys mounted the brackets what spacing were the lag screws into the studs? In other words were you able to use more than two studs and or were able to spread out over three studs with the screws closer to the end of the bracket? I can only have two studs @ 16" so from each set of lag screws to the end of the bracket will be about 9 inches. I should just hang the f'ing thing and step back
  2. Thanks Roy. Now we wait for the center to be made.
  3. Vertical or horizontal mounting? This one will be horizontal when you guys rotate the horn 90 degrees in the motorboard.
  4. Due to position of studs vs TV I can only catch two studs and the bracket will be 34 1/2" long to accommodate speaker. It will have a total of 4 bolts (2 vertical pair) with each pair spaced at 1 1/2" on center.
  5. It has two (upper and lower) bolts for each stud.
  6. Upon further evaluation of wall stud placement and spacing I can only attach the bracket to two studs spaced at 16" in the approx middle of 34 1/2" long speaker; not good with that much torsion load. Now leaning towards installing a 2 x 6 walnut board to span at least three, perhaps 4, studs matching width of TV and using T Nuts on the back of the 2 x 6 to provide load distribution for the ~65 lb speaker. Profile the edges and mayhaps inlay the bracket in the support. The bracket has multiple slots to accommodate attachment to the 2 x 6. Ideas?
  7. Thank you much, it has been a trying experience with shipping delays. At some point in the future I might even get the seating, rugs, beds, wall art, chest, end table and sofas (in other words I ordered an entire house of furniture) that have been on order for a while and now the estimate is May. I did get word today that 9 of my motorized window shades will be installed Feb 4th. Pay up front and WAIT. One thought I just had was to maybe use discrete cable(s) from wall to fly point(s) on the speaker to zero in the tilt angle. I have requested a custom spaced 5 shelf rack in walnut from these guys https://butcherblockacoustics.com/collections/rigidrack™-4-shelf-rack/products/rigidrack™-4-shelf-rack-1-thick-walnut-shelves-1-walnut-legs?variant=29468546072691
  8. The mount which Chief Bonehead told me to use has a large rubber washer sandwiched between the speaker and bracket. It may or may not hold well enough. I am aligning the center of the factory modified 396 to the HF / LF centerline (approve by CBH) of the Jubs. Yes the TV is too high but need that to clear 396 and equipment rack. Two SVS PB4000s have to go there as well. HT seating will be on risers to help as well. TV tilts down. Go ahead, make comments on the wire management I was left with by previous homeowner. Have been awaiting arrival of TV, bracket and custom rack to set proper wiring wall plates.
  9. So the bracket finally arrived. The instructions have me drill a hole in the 396 cabinet and use a supplied lag screw to set the final angle. The speaker will pivot from the bolt at the center of the top and bottom (will be left and right sides) of speaker and then locked in place with said lag screw. I am a bit nervous about that.

    Bob Crites RIP

Trips to that place has certainly eh, evolved
  11. I used one with Belles. Easy amp to bias as long as you have meter and can read it.
  12. TV finally arrives Monday so I need to measure for mount height
  13. Shocked I am. Dealer in the DFW area that I ordered from and then informed me about the pair only called and advised me to cancel the web order and then call in the order. Result was a significant discount on the pair. Nice! Mull that sentence over.
  14. Call from bracket folks telling me that they are only available in pairs so if anyone else decides to use a 396 horizontally I will have a spare. $400 + for the pair.
  15. Well, I have already paid for the 396s so...
  16. I thought of that Richard but didn't know of one available. You need my address for the gift?
  17. This was a first. The company that I ordered the bracket from called to verify my address. When I repeated it the gent told me that that address came back under a different name. I was like yes, that's who I bought the house from. I thought that as long as the billing and shipping address matched it was good didn't realize they look at some data base to verify.
  18. The TV, which will be installed Monday (ordered in November), will be mounted and there is a bedroom behind the wall so no void there. I was reading the TV's manual and it has a function where the TV speakers can be connected to serve as a center channel. I am 100% positive those TV speakers will match up with the JUBs
  19. Finally found a source for a single bracket as most came in pairs. Ordered. @Chief bonehead move my vertical 396 to the head of the line
  20. Thanks Roy. I have seen references to a "C" bracket but my searches turned up nothing. Due to TV viewing angle, Jub height and center 396 height compromises I am guessing to mount the 396 at about centerline of the Jubs' LF/HF split line. Thoughts?
  21. I would hope not to fly it as this would be in a room that is a little more "formal". Thinking of a cantilever system from the wall. Note my extremely comfy seating while awaiting furniture. There will be a 77" TV in the middle, a rack of electronics and then there are two SVS PB 4000 subs to be placed somewhere. 5.2 systems with 396s as the center and surrounds.
  22. As I move into the new place I constantly find issues with placement of speakers. Left and right Jubilees KI 396 with vertical mod on order from factory to mount horizontally as center and this is the question. Other than constructing or buying an equipment rack that the center would rest on how would you mount the 396 center to the wall? Length 36.3' long now in the horizontal plane (assuming 16" center on studs) Depth 16" Weight 76 lbs If a floating shelf perhaps triangular with angle adjustable to account for the 396's shape Ideas?
  23. With you bro; my sheet is a dumpster fire as well. Let's do what we can do to maintain little less crap in life. PM if you would like to talk. While this may not be related to your situation we all have our issues to bear and have to deal with. 12 year old daughter gang raped and I post this on social media as fact that if I ever find those responsible it is without doubt I will hold them accountable. 24. No longer for sale. I was informed by Trey that Klipsch would modify a 396 for center duty placed horizontally. I had purchased a normal 396 for center duty and some RPs for surround (not the best choice but at a good price but stands were an issue and I really wanted more real estate between the Jubs. I ordered another 'normal' 396 for surround duty and the modified one (called a vertical 396 IIRC) for center. Looking for ideas on how to wall mount the horizontal 396 or place on top on rack system. I will be using the Cornwalls as LCR in the bedroom with the RPs as surrounds. Just want my TV to arrive so I can start setting up. Using The One as TV speaker now on a loaner TV.
