  1. They cost about $45-70+ (USD, of course) I found those prices in a catalog, but you might be able to find them somewhere else with better quality for less $. Besides, even if you can't use it for the Pros, you could just use it for anything else that requires AC power. ------------------ Klipsch Rules. 2. And you think adding to it will help??? Geez, haven't seen the site in a while..lots of new smilies.<[img SRC="http://216.37.9.58/ubb/cwmsmilies/cwm13.gif" border=0> ------------------ Klipsch Rules. ProMedia Tech Support # 1-888-554-5665 promediatech@klipsch.com
  3. Well I wasn't really planning on it, I was just wondering if it could be done. Besides, I wouldn't want to take away great sound in my computer room.. ------------------ Klipsch Rules. ProMedia Tech Support # 1-888-554-5665 promediatech@klipsch.com
  4. I read this being posted about year ago, and it said it would be very hard/impossible. However, wouldn't you just be able to get a transformer/converter thing for 120 volt AC power and plug the Pros into there? I mean if you can plug small refigerators and tvs into them, why not the Pros? I've seen them advertised for around $45-$70. Anyone know if this will work? Sam ------------------ Klipsch Rules. 6. Movie Freak, you're comparing fixable preamp speaker pot problems to a completely unrelated odd TV problem? I bought the CP-1 not because of some minimal static from the old preamp, but because of the new features it offered. The scratching problem solution of turning up the volume was suggested by Klipsch. ------------------ Klipsch Rules. ProMedia Tech Support # 1-888-554-5665 promediatech@klipsch.com

  8. Actually, you have the low gain preamp, unless you've bought your speakers before about 2 years ago. They stopped shipping the original high-gain preamps in late 99, and replaced all the Pros (for those that wanted them) with low-gain preamps. Now they're selling the CP-1, which has a higher gain then the 2nd preamp (and I think sturdier construction) and some say has more 'punch' then the other preamp. Anyway, just spend $50 on the CP-1 to go with your v2-400s and you'll have pretty much the same thing as the 4.1s. The CP-1 is not necessary, but if you're having problems with the "scratching" of the other preamp, you might want to get this. I didn't have problems, but the headphone jack and mute button (there is NO on/off switch, it's just a speaker mute) were good enough reason for me. Also, just so you know, the line-in on the CP-1 outputs only to the front two speakers and the sub; you'll have to connect something to the line-in on your soundcard to get full 4.1 speaker sound. Hope this helps, Sam ------------------ Klipsch Rules. ProMedia Tech Support # 1-888-554-5665 promediatech@klipsch.com
  9. The line-in jack on the 4.1s will not give you surround sound, but the line in on your sound card should. Yeah, those Sony Wega Flat screen tv's are great. Here, I saw a 27' Sony for about $475. It looked good, but when I went shopping for a new tv for my room I went with a 27' Phillips for about $250. The sony was too expensive. Hope this helps, Sam
  10. it's a channel. It's on chan. 191 on Dish, and a couple of other places as well. You should find something about that on their website at www.techtv.com
  11. What are the "quirks" for the Hollywood +? I just bought one.
  12. you've got a good sub move your sub to where there's less bass at your position.
  13. you're a dinosaur on the street closing your eyes...great analogy.
  14. Well I hope everything will be fine (I'm going to use an s-video cable for video, and um...something else? for audio) The price came out to be $73.22 US w/overnight shipping (i'm impatient ) for the Hollywood + card and $129.83 (also with Fex-ex overnight shipping) for the Pioneer DVD 16x slot-load. The Hollywood + and the Pioneer drive comes with a 30-day money back guarentee, so I should be fine.
  15. Wouldn't it also matter what kind of tv you had too? I mean a 25 year old tv versus a brand new flat tv would make a difference. How's the controls and DVD quality? That's CAN price, right? What kind of jacks are you talking about?
  16. Mine's boring. I just bought mine here and got them 2 weeks later. I only had a 2 channel sound card but I was still impressed by the great sound coming out of the front 2 speakers. The next day I bought a y-jack and got wonderful 4-speaker sound. Then I got a SB Live 5.1 and that's it.
  17. Maybe your monitor's just going bad. Move them farther away from the monitor. That should help.
  18. DVD's? Hmm...The DVD forum? Just post them here, I guess
  19. What I meant was you should calm down if you already have the v.4-200s. If you don't have them, then start drooling with anticipation.
  20. calm down, it's just a set of speakers, Janko. There's nothing wrong with the original Pros.
  21. Like Seb said: quote: Originally posted by Seb: are you going to use a TV or your PC monitor for video? how big is the room? and how close are you going to be to the speakers? etc...
  22. Seb + Paragon (or anyone else for that matter), what do you think about the Hollywood+ card for tv-out?
