  1. I agree with the first part but the only time I'm changing out gear is when something breaks. I'm a multichannel guy and wish I could out-in-out justify upgrading to a head unit with the newer codexes but I've been pretty happy for almost 2 decades... On the music front, I'm definitely a source guy and usually think about the day and let my imagination rule while listening to familiar material.
  2. I agree but what's up with all of the LIKES and jukebox posts?
  3. There do appear to be various paid subscriptions to YouTube but truthfully the ads are short and most can be skipped. WAY less than other free content. Heck, the link dtel provided at ads all over the place. On YouTube they're 8 seconds and are predictable....On that note, it does get sinister when you consider how they get the ad streams. 🤐
  4. I agree. No streaming service or cable here either and we don't pay for YouTube. Otoh, that means we're the product! 😮 So far I'm good with it but I do wonder...
  5. I actually posted one several years ago but it no longer is up. It didn't show any action just the canal and folks walking in the area.
  6. I'm interested in biblical history and scholarship and can't believe how much and varied the content is. Bart Ehrman and James Tabor give more of a historical overview (and have their own channels) as they discuss the texts with several others that have scholars on.
  7. There are several great live-cams from Amsterdam but this is the most mesmerizing.
  8. Cool. Fwiw, those links aren't from YouTube but are fun nonetheless. Here is a favorite of mine that's not on YT either but has several AMAZING vantagepoints in the Swiss Alps! https://www.jungfrau.ch/en-gb/live/webcams/
  9. Still cool and crank it to 11 without distortion...
  10. Thanks for posting! Ironically it was about a year ago I too had to take a YouTube tutorial on lawnmower repair. 😊I bet that screwed up the algorithm! 😉 Speaking of which, those folks have my watching pegged--Scary? 🤔
  11. Good to hear from you dtel. Yeah, I don't watch any sports and travel the world on YouTube and my modest 55" monitor. I have a library of Live-cams from favorite places where I visit daily and usually put on the headphones for a recent (or Live) walk or train ride in Europe...Amazing footage with alot being 4K.
  12. Ha! Actually it's FREAKY how deep you can get on tangents that investigate "sin," including biblical history and apologetics surrounding it... I'm pretty close. I read before bed/after waking but there's a good 4 to 6 hours of YouTube watching on weekdays and even more on weekends if nothing's planned. Thanks for participating.
  13. If you watch less than an hour a week I'd call that pretty much none. On that note is there anyone who NEVER clicks on YouTube?
  14. We've discussed Facebook algorithms before and I'm curious how much YouTube influences your life? 🤔
  15. I have a fascination with the history in the 3 centuries surrounding 70 CE and how it relates to the Dead Sea Scrolls. I started a few months ago reading the Bible again using the 2 commentaries above and comparing. The "Harper Collins Study Bible" on the left is more scholarly oriented and I got for my birthday in June, while the "Jeremiah Study Bible" was given to me by a friend/student as a gift and has more of a sermon point of view. Ironically, both at the same time and not knowing about the other.
  16. I had that happen to me. We'll see how fast Chad's replacements can bring you up to speed...
  17. Deleting the KV-2 and having dialogue coming out of the extreme corners of the room isn't exactly a huge improvement. Both are weird. Fwiw, this was also my first thought...It seems the point the OP/thread starter was trying to make was that he didn't realize how important the center channel was, tried a *unique* solution and is happy with it. It seems the consensus is get the best front soundstage you can, and most can do it without using 2 center channels. I just don't think folks that can accommodate a large center can't also position 2 large F/L speakers as well.
  18. Ha! I'd be more worried about them pulling the plug...😬
  19. Wow, Chad! The guy behind the scenes that kept the forum running while having the few intriguing comments in the BS Forum that kept us all guessing is leaving...😮Thanks for getting me back on the Forum over the years and happy travels on the next adventure. {Note: If you could send the secret code to get me back in the old place to retrieve some things It would be appreciated. 😎}
  20. Fwiw, having our RC-7 on top also puts the tweeters inline with the RF-7s up front. {Note: It was designed in the day when folks put their centers on top of an RPTV, so it has risers in the back.}
  21. Actually, no. Head's are usually near the top of the screen and angling down works well.
  22. Our center is above the TV and angled down towards the MLP.
  23. Me too. I'm mainly a multichannel guy and use a sub to get peaks in the 102 to 106 dB range for really slamming bass on a few songs.
