  1. ...our tickets! (his signature)
  2. Ok, time to pull something from the LP library. There is a very nice bit O history with this one. Not far from from here, and close to my place of work in Northampton MA, there is an intimate music club. Great food, and always top notch artists. In fact, I was on the very stage with a couple of bands I was in! = an honor! Anyway, this was 2019, and when ever Joey D. came to town, as a Hammond organist myself, Chris and I along with other fans and friends would make sure to be at the show. Joey really looked good on this night, lost lots of weight, and with a new hair style looked great! The concert was wonderful and there was NEW merch available. I made it a point to pick up his newest album available on a DOUBLE LP presentation. I made sure to have him sign it after the show. What was REALLY a very cool thing was..............I knew the company that rented the 1954 B3 Hammond to him. I talked to the fellow in charge and mentioned, "Before you put that rear cover on the organ, have Joey sign, date it and add the venue name as well." So, I got some photos with Joey, and asked him to sign the inside of the organ, and HE DID happily!! Sadly, Joey D. has passed recently, and now, some lucky person one day will make the discovery and fine his signature inside that Hammond B3. I took photos while he was signing it as well. Ok, here is side one, disc one on the U-Turn custom.
  3. Good afternoon friends! Please don't SNAG your cantilevers !
  4. Then get the hell in here TIm and join in ! You listening to Boston Symphony tonight? Looks like a good one. I sure will be. I will post over in RTM for that later on. Ok, got to do my amateur radio duties, the check in's await..............Cheers 🍷
  5. Thank you! So I am not so alone in my Rega 'saga'. Glad you liked the OM2 Blue. For the price point, it really is a nice cart. Enjoy that Ania, I am sure it is some notches above for sure! Thanks for reading my story .
  6. Have the 'series', but for some reason, the most recent using all the old analog gear is very 'dull'. Otherwise, nice play right there!
  7. Thanks for the info. Stand by for RANT . I have the P6 and that was with the Exact II cart. After I ordered the U-Turn turntable for this system, I ordered it with the Ortofon Blue cart. I fell in love with the way it sounded. So much that I set and tested both tables side by side with a pair of matching LP's and synced them together with a switcher. I was left speechless that the OM2 Blue had the SAME bass response, but more clarity on the high end, AND a wider stereo image too! How could this be? AND, the Rega cartridge had a mis-matched output with the right channel being slightly louder which I would have never noticed if not compared. $300 vs. $600 cart. Well, as some know around here, I took my P6 to my local dealer and had them remove the Exact 2 cart and install an OM2 Blue. As much as I wanted to believe the Rega cart was the better of the two, I was wrong. I send best wishes that your Rega cart continues to provide you great sound and you have better luck then I did. A side note: that Rega Exact 2 was a REPLACEMENT for the original which LOST a channel completely!, Rega covered it and sent me the second one. I am not here to bash the Rega product, but for what you pay for a mid line table, they can still have issues. I replaced the SUB-platter with a Grove Chaser solid aluminum unit with jewel bearings because the original was made of plastic and had a WOBBLE of all things. Ok, sorry for the long story, but just wanted to be honest.
  8. .....and nice P3! What cart is mounted?
  9. I am STILL tweaking the system in the livingroom. So, I broke down the Bang and Olufsen system. Pulled it from the rack/stand, set is all down on the brick fire place landing with a black carpet pad to rest on. Moved two very fine, wood, rotating CD racks. Put them in the former audio rack to the right. Re-wired the whole deal AND, found that the U-Turn custom table is the EXACT dimensions as the B&O gear! It sits on top of the stack and outside of the color, matches up nicely as if a vintage B&O table was there in it's proper placement! All of this amounted in being able to SPREAD the Forte' 4's further apart at 10' center to center, and what a great result this produced. I hang out here more then in the main listening space on the first floor . The lighting units are new, but I have other plans for them. The next upgrade will be the new track lighting which will be over the mantel and hearth area. My neighbor's home by the same builder included in ceiling spotlights. I have those in all 3 of my bathrooms, but were not included over the fire place for some reason, so, the new lighting will take care of that. Here is what it looks like at the moment during my vinyl spinnin' .
  10. Ok then.............I pulled this one up from the library, U.K. Always a great listen 🍷
  11. Hello gang, been a bit, and lots has happened here at Vinyl Record. I just wanted to say that I purchased That Utopia LIVE album back when it was brand new at our local record store. Need to dig that out and give a spin!
  12. Thank you Dave for the very kind words! ...and yes, as you say, 'classy' is a good fit for the room setting. My late partner put the room together over 17 years ago. We NEVER had any audio in here, as it was a room for visiting company and conversation. After his passing, lots of the furniture went back to the family which opened the space up, and then I got the crazy idea to put together an audio system for it little by little up till now. The two white love seats were his mom's from her condo, and those of course stayed. Never thought the room would be so well adapted for a system let alone the Klipsch Forte 4's, but, here it is, and enjoying the very musical results there of. Thanks again everyone, and best wishes for GOOD HEALTH and many more years of music enjoyment to you all !
  13. Thanks so much John and friends! There are a bunch more LAVA in storage, but, each shelf is by year and model. Two in the center top are from ENGLAND (Mathmos) which is the ORIGINAL lamp of this type. Lava/Simplex company came on the scene 2 years later in 1965. I had to pick up a special 240 volt power supply to power them. Anyway, I was a serious collector back in the 90ies. But now, to light that entire display is 1100watts and makes a HUGE amount of radiant heat. So, I only put a few on at a time. There then is the Lava Lamp collection lesson. 😊 I DO have a photo from a long time ago of the entire setup lighted. Perhaps, if you are interested, I could did that up. VERY colorful for sure.
  14. Ok, I've absent for a bit, however, just a couple days ago, I had the idea to try moving some speakers around. And after HURKING these 72 lbs. speakers up a flight of stairs (you ought to try that when you are in your 70ies ), there is a revelation !!! The Forte 4's are a totally different speaker up here in the cozy room, and the B&O Beogram 6500 system luckily and happily is an amazing matchup! Why? I can't say, but the sound is so much warmer, low end that shakes the room and floor like a pair of subwoofers! Here are a some brand new photos from this morning. I have them pulled out from the front wall 2 feet after much testing with a 28Hz. tone test and my DB-C weighted meter. Just like in the large room on the first floor, and other reviewers have found out, these get deeper in the lower range when pulled away from the wall. They are also 8.5 feet center to center and the two love seats are 11 feet from the speakers. I included a photo of the space BEHIND the listening area which is pretty much totally open. Here you go: with and without grills.....
  15. Hello Dave and friends. I believe I have one of the final concerts on BLURAY in my collection. A great watch and listen for sure!
  16. Hello friends! This is mainly for PAUL. Over on the PS-Audio chat forum, we have two regulars from Australia. One of them mentioned something about a strong wind storm that took out some 6 high power transmission line towers and shut down Loy Yang! Did this effect you at all? (besides all those medical snafus you reported....) This was in the Victoria area I guess. Let us know. Thanks.
  17. Hey DAVE ! 😊 Ok, SIDE TWO up and running. This old gear is still singing pleasantly on the ears, oh, and so is Kiri
  18. Good Monday friends! Ok, JUST got in from my morning workout with a snow blower (ears noise protected even though it is electric) and settling in with this one from 1985. A jazz recording on London 'Digital'. Kiri singing with more lovely Nelson Riddle arrangements. Here is some cover art, front and rear side. SIDE ONE in progress on the Orbit Custom....
  19. Well, I have enjoyed my spins and your company today and this evening. I am going to listen to some digital stuff for the rest of the evening. Hope to return tomorrow and join you all once again! SIDE TWO spins as I type. Have a good evening (day for you Paul! ).
  20. Good evening my friends. It's after dinner and a snowy evening here in the North East. So, what better then to continue with the 3rd Ronstadt / Riddle LP. Two photos showing the artwork and all cued up for Side One, and an after dark photo here in the cozy room
  21. Side Two up and spinning now. I am going to take a break after this one and continue a bit later in the evening with 'Sentimental Reasons'. Meanwhile, enjoy your tunes.
  22. Moving on to 'Lush Life'. All 3 of these recordings are outstanding!, the liner notes are aplenty with info on the mixing / engineering and arrangements involved. These pics are of the 'motion' album cover and inner sleeve, and SIDE A on the UTurn.
  23. You are right, we'll leave that handy craftmanship to Klipsch!
  24. Good afternoon all. As promised, it is now time to relax with this set of Linda / Riddle LPs. I bought these at different times off eBay, all were SEALED new old stock. It really is nice to sit back after a week of anticipation to finish a speaker project and enjoy the music now that it is finally done and realized. Here we go! 'Whats New' now playing, and the inner sleeve artwork. ......The Superscope S-212's in position. These things are efficient, yet that 12" handling the bass/midrange is really a velvety sound and that old school paper cone/dome tweeter sits nicely on top.
  25. Hello, hello friends! Great music you are all enjoying this morning/afternoon. Ok, I am going to join you in a bit with my Linda Ronstadt TRIPLE play. BUT, since you were all following the speaker rebuild story, I wanted to let you know..... The CAPS finally came in yesterday and installed, and walnut veneer got their second coat of orange oil. Here are 3 photos. Simple cap job DONE. On the stands with and without grills. Enjoy, and I will return after some around the home puttering. And yes, for an old pair of speakers, it is amazing how nice a 12" 2-way system still delivers MUSIC !
