  1. I am currently using the Sumiko Blackbird high-output MC with my Linn LP12/Ittok LV-II.
  2. Been considering upgrading my LP12 tonearm cable as well...what cables are you considering?
  3. I was (re)watching my Beach Boys documentary DVD last nite...Carl Wilson said..."...by virtue of the fact that he played no instrument...Dennis became the drummer..."
  4. Isolation!!!! In my recording studio, I use modified Office Isolation Panels....ie....we cut rectangular openings and inserted plexiglass...so that the drummer can see! Does wonders in the realm of recording.
  5. I like my Bag End Infra18 with my Heresy HT setup.
  6. Hey Tarheel... I have tried different tubes. I replaced the stock Tesla EL-34's with Sovtek 6550's for a few hundred hours...now using a matched quad of RCA blackplate 6L6's (all manufactured in the 13th week of 1960). The 6L6's blow away all the others I've tried thus far. But I think the most audible difference in the amps was when I replaced the stock Ei 12DW7's with Telefunken 7247's. I recently totally retubed the pre as well....now using an Amperex Bugle Boy (treble clef) 5AR4...2 Sylvania 12FQ7's...2 Telefunken 12AX7's, and a Telefunken 12AU7. Big difference! Hal
  7. I didn't think we were supposed to talk about that sorta' stuff on here! Hal
  8. I've had a great experience using the Quicksilver Horn Monos with my Heresy pair. I use the Quicksilver Full-Function preamp as well. Hal
  9. I use a Jolida 202A to power my surrounds...formerly to power my Heresy pair. I am still using the stock Chinese EL-34's (tried a quad of EH EL-34's...one of 'em failed after about 100 hours). I noticed more of an improvement after replacing the stock driver tubes (ie,12AT7's and 12AX7's) with NOS Telefunkens and RCA's. Hal
  10. I use Furman Power conditioning/distribution products....no complaints....one of mine has 3 sequentially-engaging outlet groups. Hal
  11. I haven't tried the Mullard 5AR4, but I recently installed a NIB 1964 Amperex Bugle Boy (treble clef) in my Quicksilver Full-Function preamp with marvelous results. Hal
  12. Many moons ago...circa 1980, my roomate at the the time, and I shared a grand old mansion that had belonged to his Aunt. It had a huge living room with chandelier and marble fireplace. We removed the space heater from the fireplace and inserted my Heresy pair. Used his LaScalas for Mains. It was great! Hal
  13. Hi Pete. I was a Sophomore in college 1n '76....my roomate had a pair of the Decorator's model Heresy (you know...no grille). I fell in love with 'em and had to buy a pair. I had worked in the oilfield the previous summer between semesters and saved enough $$ to buy the Heresy pair, a newly introduced Kenwood KA9100 integrated amp, and a Technics SL2000 TT. Been hooked ever since. Hal
