Don't wimp out on power for the RF-5's.  Give them a good high current amp and prepare to be amazed at the output and extension these things have.

I have a pair of RF-5’s and would like more bottom end.  Would the Anthem MCA 30 be a good choice?

I've had a few pair of both over the years never at the same time but the RF-5 is the significantly better speaker IMO if you want to take them up a notch find a pair of RC-7 crossovers and horn drivers gets them pretty close to RF-7 performance in a much smaller package.

That RF-5 modification sounds very interesting.

The parts arrived at Edwards Electronics this week Tuesday. I hope to have them back in a few weeks.

A question for y'all: I removed the speaker and the passive - Klipsch used a real thin sealing tape on them. It seems aftermarket tape is all like weatherstripping tape (thin'ish foam). I assume I will need to seal it went putting it all back together. Is the foam tape OK for that?

Thanks - will keep this thread posted on progress.

I'm thinking of contacting Edwards Electronics to fix my RSW-12.

i noticed you mentioned removing the speaker.  Will I have to do that or just remove the amp?

  4. I just picked up a Klipsch sub that was included with some Reference stuff.  It seems the serial # label was removed, so no idea what model this is. (21"D 16"W 16"H)

Seller said he took it to the shop and it needed a 'new power supply'.  If anyone can help identify it and tell me if it's worth fixing would be great.  thanks!

  5. Still up this morning. UT is like its own island of a speaker market. KSL is our local listings as most people dont use Craigslist but there are some really good finds from time to time and some sit on the market for a while too.

Yup, I picked up a pair of RB-75 on KSL a while back.
