  1. Thanks for the compliments. The panels are made from Owens-Corning 703 rigid fiberglass (24"x48"x2") wrapped in batting and then cover in burlap. You don't have to wrap them in the batting, although I highly recommend doing so to keep loose fiberglass particles from getting out. You can use burlap, linen, meslin, or any loose fiber material to do the final covering.
  2. These speakers definitely fill the room. They can get plenty loud, but still clear. I have them calibrated at 75 decibels when the volume on my receiver is at 00, and they are Xover'ed at 80hz. In fact when I am at home alone, I crank the volume and I can go downstairs and still hear every word loud and clear. These are definitely the best bookshelf speakers I have ever owned.
  3. I have been experimenting w/ different placements and this one seems to work fine, I think. When I am listening to music in 2 channel stereo mode, the music sounds as if it is actually in front of me. Sometimes I have to get up to make sure the sound is not coming from my center channel. I will angle them out a little today to see if I hear a difference. Thanks for the input.
  4. I am using RB-61s in my HT. My room, the room over my garage, is 12x23. I am using I have a 5.1 system using RB-61s for mains and surrounds, RC-62 center, and the RW 12d sub. I have to say that I am very impressed with the sound. I am pushing them w/ a Denon 2106 AVR that is 100 watts/ channel. I am planning on adding another pair of RB-61s to upgrade to 7.1. I think these speakers are perfect for a small/medium room. Here is a pic of my set-up. You can see more pics on my Webshots page: http://community.webshots.com/user/cajones25_HT
  5. Those stands should work. I have my RB61s I use for my mains on some similar stands and I have not had any issues. Now that may change now that my daughter is starting to walk. I guess the most important thing will be to make sure the speakers are balanced on the stand. The RB61s are about 13 inches deep and the top of those stands may be only 4x4. May I suggest wall mounting the RB61s for your 7.1 application, if that is an option. I am using RB61s for mains and surrounds in my 5.1 set-up and I have the surrounds wall mounted using B-Tech BT77 mounts. The work really well. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-312AR1Mdsq9/cgi-bin/ProdGroup.asp?search=BTech+BT77&skipvs=T&g=15830
  6. Hear is an updated pic front shot of my humble little system. The acoustic panels are DIY.
  7. I'm sorta new to Klipsch and HT, but I think there will be a big tonal difference with the RC-52/RF-82 set-up. The size of the drivers are not the only difference between the RC-52 and 62. I think the motors in the tweeters are different as well. I have a RC-62 with RB-61 mains and it sounds great.
  8. Does Klipsch make car audio speakers? If you want a nice system for your ride check out Alpine for your entire system and/or JL Audio for speakers.
  9. I just scored one at HH Gregg for $20.00. They are selling them for $30 and I used a $10 gift card that they mailed me for doing an on-line survey. Plus, it's local so no shipping cost.
  10. Could please give us a review of the Omnimount CC stand. I have the RC-62 as well. I was going to get that stand but I was concerned that weight of the speaker was more than the recommended limit of the stand. The slope of your TV looks similar to my Hitachi, so I'm sure it will work, I'm just a little leary about the weight issue.
  11. oops!! Maybe this can be moved to the subwoofer section.
  12. Is there a remote available for the digitally controlled subs? There is an IR sensor on the sub, but I don't recall reading about a remote in the owners manual.
  13. I guess we would really know the dimensions of your room to make a more informed comment, but I will give it a shot. If you have a relatively small to medium room, ie a F.R.O.G., You could go this route for about $1800-1900, depending on your local dealer. 3 sets of RB-51s for fronts, side surrounds, and rear surrounds. I am a advocate for using all of the same speakers in this application for timbre matching. RC- 51 for your center RW-10d sub. Then you will have a little money left for stands and brackets Or, if you had to have floor standers, you could replace one set of the RB-51s with RF-52s. The timbre match should still be good. That will have you at about $1900-2100, again depending on your local dealer.
  14. I am a Klipsch first-timer. I have had my RB-61, RC-62, RW-12d set-up for about two months and the first thing that really struck me is how good the sound at lower volumes. I have a 7 month old daughter who seems to sleep all the time, so I do a lot of listening at low vloume. I have a Denon 2106 and it mates with my Klipsch great. I can sit and watch a movie at -20 to -15db without any ear fatigue and the room stills shakes. These speakers are awesome
  15. My bad!! It is the Oppo DV-970HD model that does SACD and DVD Audio. It's $149. HD Up-Conversion to 720p/1080i SACD, DVD-Video/Audio and Much More HDMI Output, HDMI Cable Included 480i over HDMI DivX Certified USB & Card Reader
