I agree totally. Josh has been great and filled a need at a more than fair offering price. I have a Pas-3 in storage but it has some issues. The sockets are shot and 1 side is down. I thought about buying a new board set for it but it needs a new volume pot and completely gone through. It's a project when I have nothing else going on. BTW, anyone know anything about these new board sets offered on Ebay? HarryO

I get lots of good info on the forum. I've met some super folks and always have been treated with respect and friendly comments. I took out what I needed and would like to pass on the rest. NOS can be expensive and hard to find. Some of these would probably never be offered and maybe they can find a home. I know when I need a tube or set I usually have an extended search. Glad to offer these. I hope they can be put to use. HarryO

Thanks Larry, Josh is supposed to ship it today. I've been running an old Lafayette integrated tuber until I find a good tube pre. The old Lafayette is ok but well underpowered, and the mono amps have a deep sweet kick and sound much better at low volume late night. It's too hard to relax while reading with SS pre's late night. Also, You might want to pull the cover and check for an obstruction in the gearing system. Improper cleaning and foreign objects such as cat hair, lint, etc can cause loading problems with these low torque motors. Sorry, but cat hair is a major problem. It is also conductive. HarryO

I would be very surprised if a motor is not available.I would do a personal follow up with Audio research for parts availability. It should be very easy to find an economical replacement for just the motor. Let me know if you hit a dead end. HarryO

Always check out the loading design. Belts are a major cause of failure. Many times a belt alone will NOT cure the loading/unloading malfunction. One good cheap product is ABU GARCIA SILCOTE reel oil. Silicone base, ultra fine, non-conductive, never sticky, and works like a champ. Inexpensive. Works on plastic and metals. Will NOT harm finishes. I buy mine in the Sporting Goods Dept at KMART. Cost: Less that 2 bucks for a 1oz bottle. I do repairs on audio/visual equipment. It is a part of how I make a living. I've been a tech for over 20 years. HarryO

I restore and touch up quite a few pairs of speakers every week. On the black birch I've been using Minwax brand Ebony stain. I put it on with sponge and immediately wipe it off. It brings up the finish like new. A small can used sparingly will last a long time. Remember to stir very very well. HarryO

Better grab 'em up while you can. The decorators are getting hard to find. They quit making the true Heritage line and the price can only go up. The Cornwall is a great speaker. A classic. Parts are plentiful still except for the mid horn lenses. The damage is minimal and can be repaired easily and the grills can be removed and these can be taken back to original condition. It's a no lose proposition whether you keep them or not. If you are coming to Indy for the pilgrimage I'll gladly take them off your hands. I live in Indy and collect the old Heritage. HarryO

The CW1526C cast woofer from BEC is a great speaker and will add a bit more bass. The cost is minimal over the replacement. Bob can help with this one. HarryO

You might want to get a pair of the cast woofers from BEC. I bought my first pair a few months ago and the added bass was a big difference. It is well worth the very small investment to "upgrade" the woofs. I own 3 pair of Cornwalls and just finished building a pair using the CW1526C woofers from Bob. Definitely 2 thumbs up!! If you do change over you will need longer mounting screws as the cast frames are thicker. HarryO

Now might be a good time to hit her up for a new pair of Heritage. You can always say it will keep you home and out of trouble. HarryO

THANK YOU. I LOST THE GROUND ON THE HEADSHELL CONNECTIONS TO THE ARM ON THE TECHNICS REMOVING THE OLD CARTRIDGE AND HEADSHELL SOMEHOW. THAT HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. NOW I HAVE TWO TURNTABLES TO REPAIR. THE PHILIPS TT POWER SWITCH FINALLY QUIT AND I NEED TO REPLACE THE 6 VOLT BULBS ON THE TOUCH CONTROLS. I REINSTALLED THE SP12 INTO MY HALL MMF-7 AND ALL IS WELL. I LIKE THE SP12. IT IS A VERY GOOD CARTRIDGE THOUGH IT IS VERY HEAVY. THANKS AGAIN, HARRYO

HELP!! I WAS SWITCHING CARTRIDGES BETWEEN MY PHILLIPS TT AND MY TECHNICS TT AND I PULLED THE WIRES OFF. I'M GOING TO PUT MY B&O SP12 CARTRIDGE ON MY TECHNICS HEADSHELL AND NOTICED THE DIFFERENCE IN WIRING CONNECTIONS. I HAVE RED, WHITE, BLUE, AND GREEN WIRES ON THE TECHNICS HEADSHELL. I'M NOT SURE HOW THESE GO ON THE B&O SP12 CARTRIDGE. IT IS MARKED: R GL L ^ GR IT HAS 5 PINS. THE UP ARROW ACTUALLY IS A DOWN FACING ARROW ABOVE THE CENTER LOWER PIN. A BIT OF HELP NEEDED HERE. THIS AIN'T MY FIRST RODEO BUT I'M HAVING BRAIN LOCK. I TRIED BLUE AND GREEN FOR LEFT AND RIGHT AND RED AND WHITE FOR GROUND. NO SOUND. THEY BOTH WORKED FINE BEFORE MY MEDDLING. THANKS, HARRYO

You spent more on tubes this month than your house payment. You are almost done buying audio gear. (Morning Arf) You get rid of your couch and keep only the loveseat to accomodate acoustics. You build speakers in your living room so it doesn't take as long to modify them to meet room requirements. You can't keep a housekeeper because you have too much gear. You even invite door to door bible thumpers in so you can show off your system. You sell your back up system to the door to door bible thumper. And last but not least: Your EX didn't believe you when you told her the "BIG and UGLY speakers" would be there long after she was gone!!!! All true! HarryO

I'd go with the forte IIs with the Denon. I've had both and the Forte IIs are smoother with their T-horns which is needed with the Denon. It's a heck of a speaker HarryO

Bob, I just finished staining 2 pairs of Birch cabinets and one pair of Birch motorboards.. I tried Minwax, Olympic, Valspar, and Old Master. The Old Master Penetrating gave the best results of all the stains I used. It took to the Birch excellent. Smooth and even penetration and really brought out the grains. The gels and glaze stains ended up blotchy and uneven. You seem to already have your stain but I thought I'd let you know my results. The Old Master penetrating stain came out beautiful. HarryO

He had these on Ebay a few months ago. I tried to buy them then. He wouldn't ship but would take to UPS store or FEDEX for packing and shipping. Cheapest I could find was around $342.00 packed and shipped to INDY. I passed. It's hard to find someone to ship and pack over the phone and net. HarryO
