On the other hand, it's not ALL about dB/SPL....

I have a pair of Carver Amazing Loudspeakers (III model) that are some of the best imaging speakers I've ever heard, and they are TERRIBLY inefficient (@ 86 dB 1 watt/1 meter), which require LEVIATHAN amplification (which I have~). I love the sound of Klipsch, but for my dedicated 2 channel, the Carvers will forever be my favs until (if?) something better comes along....

Same principal as vehicle engines, it's an air pump,and what you can't pump in VOLUME you must pump in DISPLACEMENT. As stated, the F113 has a MUCH longer piston excursion than the RSW-15, plus tons of power to back that up. Two different approaches to the same (near) end result. I will tell you JL Audio is par excellence in SQ and build quality.

Are you talking about a dent in the dust cover? Suck it out with a vacuum cleaner hose... It won't cause any sonic difference.

I used Gorilla Glue on the sound board (front) of my KLF-10s when they started vibrating apart (!)--it works GREAT. Just be sure you pull it apart, spray slightly with water, and work the glue into the cracks, then clamp FIRMLY with several clamps.

Realize that any amp that age is coming upon cap replacement time; adjust your price accordingly. It will run you from $180 plus shipping to as much as $380 to have it refurbished (it can be brought to like-new specs) by either of the highly-recommended service centers in the pacific northwest (Rolland's "Hi Tech Audio" or "Rita's Vintage Audio Repair" (where Bob drops in to sign amps when he can!). The 400a and 400t are considered better than the straight 400 as there was some sort of issue with that one. Many folks still use the Cube amps today. I've had a Carver M1.5t amp (powerhouse!) & C-2 preamp which I enjoyed, but all my current gear is Sunfire (ssshhhhhhhhwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeettt!).

What exactly do you want to do/trying to accomplish?

All I've heard sound great, if a little on the bright side. A set of Bob Crite's (sp?) crossovers would tame that down. Plus the bass on them will pound your liver into pate`...
