  1. Yaaaah! Back to the top! Good to see that some things just don't change around here . . .

    WinDVD

Anybody have the activation key for v. 3.0? I, uh, seem to have misplaced mine . . . Thanks in advance! ------------------ Whether you think you can or think you can't, you're absolutely right.
  3. Well, I checked Gamespot and the walkthrough fo NOLF said that the captain's log is floating above the bed in the captain's cabin. I swear I didn't see it in there all the times I was in the cabin. I'm going to play it again and see what happens.
  4. I know a bunch of you have finished NOLF so I'd like to get a hint or two. I'm stuck in Dive, Scene 3, where you're in the sunken ship and you have to find the shipping manifest and the captain's log. I found the manifest easy enough but I can't seem to find the captain's log. I think I've been everywhere I can go, but there has to be something else . . . please help before I pull all of my hair out (there ain't much left)! Thanks in advance!
  5. Remember to start easy and gradually work into the listening experience. Try to resist the urge to crank the bass and volume up all the way before you have built up an adequate resistance to high pressure sound waves. Don't forget to have your non-v2-400-owning friends over to gawk at your new toy ------------------ Whether you think you can or think you can't, you're absolutely right.
  6. Ooohh! I wonder what listening to Britney Spears would feel like . . .
  7. Wow, that's really interesting. LOL, too bad I just got PowerDVD! Seb, if you're still bored, can you disable hardware acceleration in both? I wonder how much of a difference that makes. ------------------ Whether you think you can or think you can't, you're absolutely right.

    Overclocking Tips

Where's a good place to get 3DMark and other benchmarking softwarez?
  9. I've also had good success running my GF2 overclocked to 230/350 with the stock fan and no RAM sinks (knock on wood). Looking into the ram sinks tho. Love the GF2 for the value (got mine for $170 including tax).
  10. I think only software players offer the zoom feature (as far as I know). I have a Creative Dxr3 and it's basically the same as your card. WinDVD and PowerDVD offer different types of zoom/pan/scan features.
  11. Try using some acetone (aka, nail polish remover) to take off the adhesive. Don't know what that'll do to the plastic finish, though. Test first in an inconspicuous area, I guess.
  12. quote: Originally posted by Baz: LOL!!! Please include major credit card no. Congratulations XPhys71 Thanks! Couldn't have done it without all you guys' help! ------------------ Too much is never enough.
  13. I feel the same as Paragon. There's always going to be something around the corner, teasing you to spend more money. My system is holding me back also. I have a Visiontek GF2 32MB. It works fine. On my 19" monitor, I don't think 1600x1200 resolution is very comfortable to game with or do much of anything. So I keep it @ 1280x1068 most of the time. I dunno, maybe the radeon has more features for the future but that's only if those features are used. Besides, you can bet all the new cards coming out in a few months will have THOSE features and more. My 2 cents.
  14. Woohoo!!!!! Ten pages, baby! You can contact me via email to get my address for the new pre-amp . . . ------------------ Too much is never enough.
  15. Yeah, you could use duct tape instead of wax for women who wax their legs. Just rip all that hair out! Facial hair, too. A whole new industry for a respected and revered product with a long and glorious history that knows no limits in application.
  16. Oh, I don't know. I don't think it'll fit under my desk! Is there a difference in RAM sinks? I should probably splurge and pick up a few. I think I remember seeing some heatsinks that were REALLY tall and pointy. Looked pretty cool. Tack 'em on with thermal tape, right?
  17. I have a Hauppauge TV card. It's real easy to hook it up. Stick it in a PCI slot and hook up the audio wire to your soundcard in. Plug the cable into the coax plug. Oh, and make sure the driver is installed on the hard drive before you put the card in. ------------------ Too much is never enough.
  18. Ooooooh. I am SO jealous! I want one, I wonder if one of the small ones would work in a computer case?
  19. I've heard a lot of good things about the Boomslang but when I tried one in the store, I thought it was the worst design as far as ergonomics go. The thing felt terrible in my hand. Then again, I like the "normal" regular sized mice and I even the MS Explorer feels weird to me.
  20. I guess I wasn't obvious with my sarcasm in the last post. Sorry. Oh well, I was just trying to point out that you could have a myriad of card configs but it's just unnecessary, kinda like what you said. I think you can't go wrong with either the radeon or geforce2 based cards. Once the next gen of cards is out, these current ones will be mediocre anyway, so why sweat the decision? I say buy a low priced performer, o/c the crap out of it and dump it when you can't play games on it anymore But that's just my opinion.
  21. How about running a Geforce2 AGP and a Voodoo 5 PCI? You could run all those Glide games and still have the option of having fast fps in 16 bit and pretty good performance in 32 bit. That is, is you have enough money.
