  1. if you are using the standard cables....it will probably make some difference in the sound quality.

I upgraded mine (made my own cables) a while ago, due to new length needs. It made some difference. But it only cost me 20-30 bucks...up to you

  2. the system is at least one year old. the cp1 unit is a little less than 1 year old.

I will give this a try. Is there any other solution?

Overall it isn't a terrible issue, just very annoying sometimes when I want to listen at low volumes.

ps where did amy go? did she get fed up with all the problems?

  3. Anyone noticed this issue?

I just sat down to listen to my KICKIN promedias and the sub was off.

All speakers were firing as normal, but nada from the sub.

I powered everything off, unplugged the sub, plugged it back in, powered up and walla!

I don't CRANK my tunes, so it doesn't seem the sub would shut down....

    any ideas?

  4. If you are having problems with any Klipsch ProMedia equipment, I am sure Amy can take of the problem for you!!!!

I don't know why tech support gets bombed on sooo much. I honestly think it is the user not following correct procedures to get the problem fixed.

If you have a problem with Klipsch products, call Klipsch. They know what they are doing.

I would not own Klipsch HT speakers and computer speakers if this was not the case.

    Call Klipsch!

    My two cents.

  6. My opinion/experience -

Sony ES line is nothing special.

For the money you can get better.

Denon is a great match to Klipsch speakers.

Check prices at crazyeddies.com and shop around with them. JandR.com will match.

  7. First and foremost -

Do Not buy sat. speaker system if you want GREAT sound.

Best advice, go into a stereo store(not circuit city, or best buy) and listen to what is available.

Check audioreview.com Mostly unbiased reviews by owners of the systems. And you will get a good feel for how much it will run you.

    For reference I have

    Denon AVR2801 85 watt DTS paid $500.00

Klipsch KG2s Front can't remember long time ago

    Klipsch KV-3 Center(perfect match to the KG2s) $200

    Klipsch SS1 Surrounds $300

    Velodyne CT120 sub $480

Not bad considering what some of the sat systems run. And I guarantee it sounds a heck of a lot better.

  8. As for your plugin...

What did you like about the wow plugin?

My opinion - It muddled the bass a little too much. Yes when I used it the sonic impact was BIG, but it sacrificed the overall quality.

    End of this opinion smile.gif

What do you like about the WOW plugin, maybe I can suggest something similar

As for your ripping needs, I like

    Sonic Foundry. - little expensive

cool edit 2000 - easy to use and powerful.

  9. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with KG2s.

I have set a pair up with a Denon AVR2801 and have begun to notice a fuzzy or raspy response to certain mid-to-high frequencies.

The best way to explain the oddity is raspy voices in movies sound too raspy or fuzzy.

All other sounds(highs and lows) are dead on, rich and beautiful.

Since the KG2s have a sub and tweater, no mid range and it seems like only a slight frequency response is affected, I am stumped.

Is this a downfall of the KG2s or could something else be going on here.

    For reference my setup -

    Denon AVR2801

    Klipsch KG2s - Front

    Velodyne CT120 Sub

    SS1 surrounds

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

  10. Got the dvd already.

It has benefited me in the past. I am awaiting a center - in the mail and trying to work out a raspy high note problem (driving me nutty) in the setup before I fine-tune.

Have you had much experience with KG2s?

  11. Running KG2s on a Denon AVR-2801

Some high raspy notes/voices etc seem a bit too raspy and static filled.

    Has anyone got any suggestions?

I am using mid quality Monster Cable with Radio shack gold banana plugs(screw down, not soldered).

A good example of the problem -

    Eric Clapton and Friends DVD

David Sanborn's sax sounds a bit harsh especially when heard as a light background instrument.

Overall the sound quality of voices is good, unless they hit the high raspy notes.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Jon
